6 Reasons Why You should Start Travelling in 2020 - JustWravel Traveling leads you into all sorts of experiences, from accidentally entering a gay bar to walking in on someone while they are getting changed on a camping trip. These experiences surely does a good job to embarrass you but on the other hand, they do get you out of your comfort zone, even by the means of accident. You become a little more aware of the surroundings and develop an open mind toward things that others may find odd. The whole experience of traveling is designed for you to see new things, grasp new ideas and connect with those, you'd never do in your daily routine life. But still, if you are not sure that why you should travel and how it's going to benefit you anyway? then continue on as I have compiled a list of reasons for someone just like you.
Travel increases your Knowledge Quotient
[caption id="attachment_4609" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Travel increases your Knowledge Quotient[/caption] How would you ever know the strong Indie Rock Band scene of Kolkata or that there exists a floating post office at Dal Lake, Srinagar,? You cannot, until unless you had a real experience of the place and you immersed deep enough to explore into the roots of the place. Gathering experience is one of the biggest upsides as a traveler and it can give you an edge in almost everything from having an information-rich discussion to suggesting someone places to visit and much more. Afterall, who doesn't want to feel smart, don't you? Yes of course you do and I know that it feels great when people value your opinion and are ever ready to take your advice.
Experiences matter
[caption id="attachment_4613" align="aligncenter" width="1920"] Experiences matter[/caption] How do you define traveling? I would define it as visiting the unknown in search of new ideas and places from which I can take back a plethora of knowledge and an unforgettable experience. Yes, quite short and to the point, right? but there's more to it. Traveling opens us to new experiences and new experiences are not always as wonderful as the name sounds. There would be times when you get cheated by the locals, overcharged, misinformed and much more. But once you go through that and you learn your lessons then you become a little less susceptible to all those bad experiences for the next time, whenever that may be.
Becoming One with Nature
[caption id="attachment_4610" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Becoming One with Nature[/caption] Have you ever came across a photograph of breathtaking mountain tops or drone shots of scenic views from someone's vlogs? Yes, you would surely have and now imagine not getting bumped up into them while scrolling your Instagram feed but actually being there. One thing about being a traveler is that you always get to visit places of scenic beauty and experience nature from a very close range. Having a cup of tea in the midst of a forest, while there's a misty rain pouring outside, makes you fall in love with the place. You never want to go back and you develop a deeply rooted love for nature.
Ever Extending Friend circle
[caption id="attachment_4611" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Ever Extending Friend circle[/caption] While visiting a new city you lost your wallet, now need a place to crash and hoping not to spend the night in ATM vestibule? Well, No Jill Goodacre is gonna come for you so you'd better drop the idea of the vestibule and call someone up. Voila! You found 3 local contacts in your phone book who can help you out at this hour. How did you manage to magically pop three contacts from a place you just visited? Well, You've met them on some other trip of yours and you made friends with them over the course of the trip. They've already invited you to their place if you're ever in town and this seems the right time to call in the favor. You always end up meeting new people and having shared the same experiences, they turn from strangers into friends. Your friend circle keeps on increasing and you end up with a whole new variety of people from different native places, social statuses, races, and cultures. For those not getting the ATM vestibule reference, How on Earth, haven't you watched FRIENDS yet?
Tales that are unheard of
[caption id="attachment_4614" align="aligncenter" width="4160"] Stories and places that are unheard of[/caption] There is a mountain peak at the Himalayan range which was supposed to be the original Kedarnath but due to the shiva's statue being sculpted only up to his neck, it is named Kedar Kantha meaning 'The neck of Lord Shiva'. Isn't it fascinating getting to know that the Kedarnath we know today is the second version of the same due to the prototype being left midway while construction? There is always a story behind the picture and you'd come across a new one whenever you visit someplace new. You get to know something new, something that most of us might not know and shh! its always a great feeling when you're in on a secret, right?
Spontaneous lifestyle-Living by no rules
[caption id="attachment_4615" align="aligncenter" width="5827"] Spontaneous lifestyle-Living by no rules[/caption] The way a traveler experience life is a little different than anyone else who enjoys the perks of a pre-defined routine life. And don't get me wrong, Routine life may work for many but it has its own limitations. The spontaneity of being a traveler is something that is admired and that is the reason, Travellers have a high social media following as people want to feel how they feel, how their spontaneous lifestyle is different from their regular ones. Enjoying every moment of life, eating whenever you like and whatever you like, making plans every next minute, Indulging into adventures are all those things that get people excited, and being a traveler, you get to live the dream. There are plenty of other reasons that one can list here but it won't matter unless you really make up your mind to go out there and explore the unknown. There are a choice where to go and things that one would like to do but ultimately it's you who is going to have an experience of their own, make your own rules, own tips and tricks and more importantly your own reasons to travel this season.

But that is where a different Goa and perhaps an enchanting Goa exists.
Let’s talk about some of the places less people are aware of, which are still untouched and will give you a completely different feel when you visit.
Chorla ghats Set aside the beaches for once, and give a visit to Chorla ghats, and just wait to see how they leave you feeling enchanted. These ghats are like a hill station in Goa and a ride till here is like a small trip in itself. Chorla ghats are hidden away from the city being situated in the North Goa in Sahyadri Mountain Range at Goa – Karnataka – Maharashtra border. Best season to visit these ghats is monsoon season. This short trip will offer you a marvellous driving experience in the western ghats. You’ll be riding through the lush green forests, past the paddy crops and you can also expect to encounter small waterfalls all along the way. You can take a halt at Bondla wildlife sanctuary and see Bondla zoo. Also, Vazira Shakira Waterfall is on the way, so you can stop there and enjoy in the stream of water. And at the end, after all the places you’ll reach the viewpoint of ghats, and this captivating site will surely free you of all the tiredness of the trip.
Querim (Keri) beach Keri beach is one of the longest beaches in north goa. This white sand beach is packed with palms and trees along the stretch. It is a quieter beach compared to other beaches in goa, come here if you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and the crowded beaches. You can also visit the ancient portuguese fort while you are here, ferry rides are available every 30 minutes for commute.
Butterfly Beach In this beach you can expect an experience as beautiful as its name is. It is very much isolated, and it will give you an island type of feel as you can reach only by boat from agonda or palolem beach, a trekking route is also available but opting for a boat is a safer option. The calmness of this beach is spellbinding, you can experience a beautiful sunset at this place. With its bluish water, it is home to some exotic species of butterflies, goldfish and crabs. You can also spot dolphins around here.
Kakolem beach
This is a small deserted beach in the south of goa. You can reach this turquoise water beach by land and boat both. Sunset is a beautiful scene from here, so if you are looking for a place to watch a peaceful sunset, kakolem beach is the place you should be in.
  Betul Beach
Betul beach is located in the south of Mobor Beach, at a distance of 18km from Margao, on the opposite bank of the River Sal. It is called the fishing beach of goa, so you can also get fresh and cheap seafood in the nearby markets. To reach here, you can take a ferry ride from Mobor beach.
Cola Beach
Cola beach is a perfect place for relaxation. It is covered by palm trees and you can find rajasthani style tents here. And like every other hidden spots in Goa, this beach is also a little difficult to reach. You can get here only by private transport, and roads are also muddy throughout.
Galgibaga beach Galgibaga beach is the nesting site of Olive Ridley Turtles. You won’t find many restaurants near the beach, as this beach is maintained with less tourist attraction, mainly to protect nesting of eggs here. Turtles lay eggs in between October and March, during this time if you’re lucky, you can expect to spot some newborn turtles. You can reach the beach by road easily.
Butterfly conservatory goa Located in Ponda district of Goa, it is situated on a remote hill in Ponda. It is spread over 4000 sq mts. It houses more than 100 species of butterflies, so you can be sure to witness a lot of butterfly species and some of the most exotic ones. It is designed like a park, so you can stroll and enjoy around.
So, go once again if you’ve been there before and see Goa as you’ve never seen before. And plan a trip right away if you haven’t seen Goa yet and be ready for a fun and crazy trip that lies ahead.

The only things that are required for a person to obtain an electronic visa for India are a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into the country, a credit or debit card and an email. In the following article, we will explain further how it works to get a visa for India.
Vietnam Visa For Indians will give some easy way and tips to apply for a visa to India.
What is the process for getting a visa for India?
India tourist visa can be obtained through a trip to the consulate / embassy or online, and while it can be extended and allow the visitor to stay up to 6 months in the country, it can only be used by up to 60 days without possibility of extension.
The process for applying for an online visa is simpler, simply having the applicant have a passport and a previously scanned photo, complete the forms, attach these documents and pay by PayPal or credit card.
The process that is done in person to apply for a tourist visa is different because it requires more documents, such as passport, international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever, copy of the other passport if you have dual nationality, photos, among others.
You will then have to bring the documentation in person to the embassy or consulate to collect your bio metric data and pay the fee, which should be in cash.

15 Incredibly Useful Travel Tips for Egypt! Below you’ll find my top travel tips for Egypt along with a little personal advice sprinkled on top. I hope you find these Egypt travel tips helpful. If you find these tips to be helpful or you have some tips of your own, please be sure to leave a comment at the end of this article. Egypt is one of my favorite countries in the world for a variety of reasons. I’ve visited the country on four different occasions over the course of the last few years and three of those visits were 3 weeks or longer. While I love this country to pieces, it also should be known that it’s one of the more difficult countries I’ve ever traveled to. Ready to learn more about my top 15 travel tips for Egypt? Let’s get started.
Travel Insurance
When preparing for a trip to Egypt your first priority should be to make sure you make the small investment towards your health and well being by purchasing a flexible, reputable and affordable travel insurance policy for your trip. Not only will this travel insurance policy cover you if your bags are lost/stolen and if your flight is delayed/canceled, but you’ll also be covered for all medical and injury-related issues as well. Let’s face it. No parents, family or friends want to have to cover the cost of you getting MedEvaced home from the middle of Egypt. As you know, in life, things happen. Do yourself a favor and get your coverage now so you can rest assured that you’ll be taken care of in the event of a serious emergency in Egypt.
Hire an Egypt Tour Guide
Planning a trip to Egypt isn’t as easy as you’d think. From accommodations to transportation and planning all the smaller logistics, there always seems to be a major disconnect somewhere along the way. As you know, I’m more of an independent traveler than anything else and I rarely recommend hiring a tour guide. If there’s one place in the world that I would recommend hiring a guide, it’s in Egypt. Why? Because Egypt is a very unique and difficult country to travel to if you don’t have any prior experience. In order to be sure that you have the best trip possible, my advice is to head on over to my recent article:
Bring Your Haggling Skills
One of the most important skills you need in order to have a positive experience in Egypt is the skill of haggling and negotiating. Everything is negotiable in Egypt and it’s expected so don’t worry about offending anyone with your offers. From buying water at the corner store to shopping for souvenirs at the market to non-metered taxis, haggling is absolutely necessary.
Bring Your Own Toilet Paper
Bring your own toilet paper. Trust me on this one. You’ll be hard-pressed to find toilet paper in most restrooms in Egypt. The toilets have a built-in bidet spray nozzle for those who forget to bring toilet paper along but who the heck wants to walk out of the bathroom with a wet behind? Not me. That’s for sure. I think it’s safe to assume you wouldn’t either. To avoid this sticky situation simply stop into a local shop and pick up a roll of TP and take enough to last you the day when you’re heading out to explore.
Use Uber in Cairo
Did you know Uber operates in the city of Cairo? If not, well now you know. What’s even better is that you can get your first ride free (up to 70 EGP or approximately $8 USD) when signing up for a new Uber account. While taxis are generally safe and easy to use, Uber is definitely your best bet if you’re looking to move around the city without worries. All you have to do to take advantage of this Uber first ride free discount is the following:
Beware of Scammers
Be careful who you trust in Egypt. Many people are out for your money. That being said, you should be able to figure out who is genuine and who's not after the first few minutes of conversation. If a person mentions a single thing about money, simply move along. Personally, I’ve met some of the most genuine people in the world during my travels to Egypt, so I highly recommend that you attempt to initiate a conversation with the locals. Note: If someone approaches you and starts to tell you that he owns a perfume shop, or mentions the Arabic word “baksheesh” which means “tip” in English, tell them “La, Shukran” which means “No, thank you.” in English and simply walk the other way.
Always Ask for Prices
Ask the price before buying water, soda, candy, and anything else that you can imagine buying at a convenience store. If you’re used to paying a lower price in other shops for your item, haggle with the shop owner a bit to get a little closer to the local rate.
Use the Cairo Metro System
The Cairo Metro system is surprisingly one of the more efficient metro systems that I’ve encountered on my travels. Be aware that it’s rare that you’ll run into other foreigners on the metro. I’ve taken the metro countless times and never once saw another tourist or foreigner. Considering you’ll be a minority, expect the train to go silent at times and when you look up, the entire car will be looking at you out of curiosity. Did you know that the Cairo Metro system is the first of two built and completed metro systems in the entire continent of Africa?
Wear Comfortable Shoes
Walking shoes or comfortable sneakers are best when planning a trip to Egypt. Sure, you can wear flip flops or sandals from time to time but please realize that the streets of Cairo and the majority of Egypt are dirty therefore you’ll be sure to return to your hotel with a pair of dirty feet.
Don’t Forget to Wash Your Hands
Carry hand sanitizer with you when you travel to Egypt! You’ll constantly be touching doors, handrails, and currency while you’re in the city and you won’t be the only one touching these things. Remember, there are an estimated 20-25 million people in Cairo. Be sure to wash your hands often and use hand sanitizer whenever you don’t have the opportunity to make a bathroom stop.
Watch Your Step
Watch where you’re walking while exploring the city. The streets of Cairo are not maintained well. One time I got really lucky and avoided breaking an ankle or worse after my foot and half of my leg fell into a hole in the sidewalk while walking through the city. This was not your typical pothole, this was a hole that engulfed half of my leg to above my knee. Dangerous isn’t even the word for the streets and sidewalks in Cairo. Beware.
Stay Hydrated
No worries about drinking tap water because nobody drinks it (including the locals). During your trip, you’ll be buying lots of bottled water. You’ll need it to brush your teeth, drink during the day and maybe even some to pour over your head after being in the extreme heat all day. Note: As a foreigner, you’ll be charged anywhere from 4 to 10 EGP for a “big bottle” (1.5, 2 liters) of water depending on where you purchase it. Trust me, you can get these bottles for 2, 2.5 EGP. Just haggle with the shop owner and you’ll get it for 2 EGP. If they say that it’s 4, or 5 EGP just tell them that you buy water down the street all the time for 2EGP and they’ll usually have no problem selling it to you. Just be aware of what the real “Egyptian” prices are for certain items and you’ll be fine.
Eat Where the Locals Eat
There is a universal rule for consuming food in foreign countries. The rule is to only eat at street stalls and restaurants that are occupied by locals. If there’s nobody in the restaurant during what should be a busy time of day, avoid it. If there’s a line of locals standing in front of a street stall, get in line because you know that it’s not only great food but it’s also very affordable.
Cross the Streets with Confidence
The driving and traffic in Cairo will be shocking to you when you first arrive. Crossing the streets is quite intimidating at first but after you get used to it, you’ll be crossing the streets without issue. Trust me, there’s a science to it! Don’t bother getting assistance from the “Tourist Police” when crossing the roads as it’s not necessary. Note: If you’re wondering why a police officer is asking you for baksheesh (tip) it’s because they probably just did something for you that you thought was a kind gesture (like escorting you across the road). This happens often so be prepared.
Respect the Dress Code and Culture
If you’re planning on traveling to Egypt please do your research before you leave. Many foreigners arrive in Egypt and dress like they’re still in their home country. This type of behavior can and will attract more unwanted attention, stares, and even perhaps physical advances by Egyptian men. In order to blend in a little more and avoid disrespecting the culture, my best advice is to choose your clothing carefully. Females:
Be sure to keep your knees and shoulders covered at all times.
Bring a scarf to cover your hair when visiting mosques and other religious sights.
Always remove shoes before entering a mosque.
If you’re visiting a mosque and do not have something to cover your shoulders, legs (from the knee down), and hair the staff will likely provide you with an oversized robe.
Bikinis and other swimwear are totally acceptable to wear while at the resorts on the Red Sea.
Males:
Wearing shorts when exploring the city isn’t a problem but you’ll need a pair of long pants or jeans for the evenings as well as when you visit someone's home or get invited to an event.
Sleeveless shirts, tank tops, and gym attire is not acceptable. Don’t be that guy.
Think light, comfy and layers for the chilly nights.
Swimming trunks and other swimwear would be acceptable to wear at the resorts or wandering around town in the destinations on the Red Sea.

Step by Step Guide How to Plan a Road Trip you'll love
How to travel by road and keep you and your passengers safe during the journey? Here is a road travel how to guide that will help answer that question.
If you are planning to drive to your holiday destination or going on a touring holiday involving daily driving, either way could mean some long distance driving. It’s worth considering things you should do or think about before and during your trip. The guide includes information on preparing your car and pre journey checks, planning your trip in advance, what to do during the journey, what to carry in your car in winter and what is worth carrying in your car at any time of year.
Travelling by car is considered more dangerous than air travel. Statistically the chances of you dying in a car crash are about 1 in 5000, while the odds of dying in a plane crash are approximately 1 in 11 million. So much greater chance of having a fatal traffic accident than flying. Long distance driving increases the risk so it is worth doing all you can to minimise the risk.
Travel by Car
Firstly, make sure rent a car from genuine car rental companies, and your car is in good working condition and has been properly serviced recently, preferably by a reputable car mechanic. Tell them where you are planning to drive to and ask them to check the relevant parts and levels are good for that length of journey.
Pre-journey checks
At a minimum you should check the following on your car before setting off to ensure your journey is event-free:
Tyres + spare wheel – are they in good condition? No cuts or other damage and are they inflated to the correct pressures for the load you’ll be carrying? If you are driving in winter and the weather conditions could mean snow or ice where you are going it will be worth investing in all weather or winter tyres. Summer tyres are useless in snow conditions and the right tyres could save you from an accident that has the potential to wreck your holiday or worse. If you are driving on summer tyres in winter, at a minimum carry snow socks for your tyres in case you get stuck. If you have no spare wheel make sure you have a working emergency repair kit with you and the “use by” date has not expired.
Tool kit containing jack, torch and handbook – check your tool kit has wheel nut spanner, locking wheel nut adapter if locking nuts are fitted on your car and a car jack so you can change a wheel if necessary. A torch with fresh batteries, if you break down after dark this is a must-have. Having the car handbook with you, if you have one, can help provide answers to problems as they occur.
Engine oil levels and spare engine oil – check engine oil is topped up before you set off and carry one litre of spare engine oil with you in case the worst happens and you get a red oil warning light appear.
Water coolant levels – check engine coolant levels are topped up to the maximum. If travelling in winter ensure there is enough antifreeze in the system. It’s a good idea to carry spare water for emergency top ups especially if you are travelling in hot countries.
Windscreen and wipers – Fill the windscreen washer tank the day before and keep filling up well before empty on route. Add more concentrated screen wash additive for winter driving conditions. Check the wipers are in good conditions, do not squeak or have splits or cuts in them. Check the windscreen has no stone chips or cracks and if so get them fixed. It only takes one big bump in the road and a minor stone chip could radiate out to big cracks or craze the whole windscreen leaving the car undrivable until a replacement windscreen is fitted.
Plan your trip in advance
Planning your trip in advance will help to ensure your trip goes as smoothly as possible. Consider doing the following before setting off:
Check the expected weather on your route before setting out. In bad weather such as fog, snow and ice or heavy rain, this will cause most drivers to slow down and on busy roads you can end up crawling along. If you can, plan your journey to avoid the worst of the expected weather.
Check the traffic on your route before setting out. This can save you a lot of time by avoiding routes with major road works or road traffic accidents causing big tail backs in traffic. Some Sat Navs have built in traffic alerts and re-route you automatically to avoid the incident.
Carry maps as well as a Sat Nav. If you are going on an unfamiliar route it is a good idea to have a backup of navigating the old way using printed maps in case something happens to your Sat Nav.
Download a free Sat Nav app such as “Navfree” on to your smartphone. This acts as a useful backup, uses GPS with offline maps and integrated Google Streetview. When used abroad it can be used in offline mode requiring no data connection, avoiding high roaming charges. It also comes in very handy when you are walking around unfamiliar towns and cities.
Carry your driving license and a copy of your insurance certificate. Make sure your insurance covers you when driving your car in another country and extend the cover if necessary. Check that your license is valid in the country you will be driving in.
Consider joining one of the roadside assistance breakdown services for peace of mind when you are on the road.
If you are driving a rental car make sure you are familiar with the controls and the position of the various switches before you start driving. Also ensure you know how to open the fuel filler cap, boot (trunk) and the engine compartment. If you can’t figure out how to open any of those, ask the car rental company before you set off. It is also a good idea to check where the spare wheel is located and is it inflated properly.
If you are planning to drive in a foreign country find out local laws before you start your trip. For example, in France by law you must carry in your car – a warning triangle, a reflective jacket, a disposable breathalyser, spare bulbs (recommended), snow chains must be used on snow-covered roads. It is also illegal to use a GPS device that warns about speed control cameras. These are just a few of the requirements you need to meet to comply with French driving laws. Every country has its own set of rules and regulations, so please check beforehand.
A long road trip is likely to be tiring so get as much sleep as you can before setting off so you have some reserves in your personal fuel tank.
Plan to set off early and allow plenty of time to get to your first destination in case of unforeseen emergencies, weather or traffic.
Leave your itinerary with another family member or friend at home and a contact number. Let them know the route you are taking, where you plan to stay and when and a contact number they can reach you on, just in case of emergencies.
It is worth considering wearing anti-embolism stockings if you are likely to be driving or riding in a car for long hours in a day. This is particularly true if you are on a touring holiday involving driving long hours on consecutive days. The stockings help to Prevent Deep Venous Thrombosis (DVT), the formation of a blood clot in a deep larger vein within the body, predominantly within the legs. See our section on Wear anti-embolism stockings to prevent DVT on the Air travel how-to guide for more information.
During the journey
Here are a few “must-haves” on a road trip and things you should always do during the journey:
•         Always wear your seat belt and don’t use mobile/cell phones while driving.
•         Carry a water bottle in the car in case of emergency as well as some snacks.
•         Carry a first aid kit and make sure the items within it are not past their expiry date.
•         Carry a mobile/cell phone in case of emergencies but be sure to pull over if you need to use it. Don’t forget to bring a car phone charger so you can charge your phone no matter where you are.
•         Carry sunglasses. Wearing sunglasses in bright sunlight is less tiring on your eyes and can help prevent an accident if you are partially blinded by the Sun low in the sky.
•         Take regular breaks. This is a must do on long journeys. At the very least stop, get out of the car and walk around. It helps to get the blood flowing again, reduces the chance of DVT and generally rejuvenates you for the next leg of the drive.
•         If possible share the driving with a fellow passenger. This makes such a big difference to the distance you can cover in a day and the way you feel at the end of the day. It is much less tiring when you can each do in turn an hour driving and an hour resting. You can just switch off and snooze or just close your eyes during your resting time which helps to keep you fresh for your driving time.
•         When you stop and leave the car make sure you lock it and ensure all valuables are out of sight in the boot or the glove box or under seats. Opportunist thieves could wreck your holiday in a few minutes breaking into your car to steal something valuable that could have been hidden out of sight.
•         If you suffer from motion sickness during car journeys, see the post on Tips to give you motion sickness relief for some solutions to relieve the symptoms

Kedarkantha Trek Winter's Paradise
Last year during December month I went to explore one more snow trail in Uttarakhand which is very famous among trekkers. The reason of doing this trek was to know the actual story of this scared peak. There are many tails which local tells but the common one is that once lord Shiva choose this place to meditate but due to some disturbance from the local villages, he decided to move to Kedarnath. After I experienced this place, I strongly believe that meditating at such places will take you to one step closer to God and you will get to know about your self more deeply.
Kedarkantha peak is at the height of 12,500 ft and for beginners who wants to go for a summit climb and wants to get the feel of climbing a peak this trek is the best. In kedarkantha Trek one can experience glacial lake, snow covered meadows, and sunrise from top of the mountain. This trek is one of its kind and during winters it is seventh heaven.
Difficulty of this trek totally depends on the weather conditions.
Kedarkantha trek starts from a small village named Sankri at the elevation of 6,500 ft and this is the market place where you can buy or rent trek essentials for next 4 days.
So, our journey starts from Sankri and our next stop is near Juda ka Talab which is at the elevation of 9,050 ft. You have to trek around 4kms to the campsite and it will take 4 to 5 hours on an average. The climb is mix of ascend and descend and in route you will experience dense forest and there is one tea stall where you can rest and have a cup of tea and enjoy the nature.
Next morning after breakfast you will start the journey towards our next campsite which is kedarkantha base camp it is situated at the elevation of 11,200 ft and to reach the destination you have to trek 4.5kms on a snow-covered trail. If you will start your journey early in the morning you will reach to the campsite around lunch time where you will be served by hot local food. After Lunch you can go for an acclimatization walk so that next day which is the summit day your body gets prepared for the conditions. If you will see Kedarkantha base will look like a small village with camps all around and after watching this you can imagine how many people every winter trek to Kedarkantha. Along this stretch is the first time where you can get overlook of the snowcapped mountains. After having early dinner you should go to sleep get good rest and give time to your body to refuel the energy and get prepared for final day.
Kedarkantha base camp to kedarkantha Peak which is the crucial day has come and for this you start your journey in mid night around 3AM because at this time the snow condition is good for climbing and is less slippery. Kedarkantha peak is situated at 12,500ft. After having healthy breakfast, you start your trek which is in total including both ascend and descend is 10km. The factor which makes it difficult to climb is lack of oxygen and cold wind. You should be fully packed with warm layers in which you can walk comfortably. Sunrise is the time when you will reach to the top of the peak and you get the view of different peaks which you have encountered on the way. You get the view of Swargarohini, kalanag , Bandarpoonch and many others.
After reaching the top of Kedarknatha now it is the time to go back to the place form where we have started and in mountaineering it is said that a climb will only be considered as a successful climb once everyone reaches to the place from where they have started.

Kedartal Shiva's Lake
The mesmerizing glacial lake - Kedartal is situated in the Garhwal region at height of 4,912 meters (16,116 ft) offers the enchanting sights of Himalayas and challenges the trekkers passing through the Himalayan birch forests. The lake also called Shiva’s lake and is 17kms from Gangotri which is the starting point of the trek. This Trek is one of the less explored trails and only famous among regular trekkers. But for those who are looking for some challenging trek, this is it.
The best time to do the Kedartal trek are the months of May, June, September, and October. The trek can be completed in 6 days starting from Gangotri which is a Hindu pilgrimage site and one of the four sites in the Chota Char Dham pilgrimage circuit.
We started our journey from Dehradun in the morning, it takes 10-12 hours (258kms) to reach Gangotri via road which is at an altitude of 3064 meters (10,055 ft). After reaching Gangotri, we checked in to our hotels and relaxed for a while and after that, we went for Ganga Aarti. You can also explore the dense forests around. We made our final check on our backpack as we were planning to start our trek the next day.
Next Morning, we have started our journey to Bhoj Kharak after breakfast, which is about 8 kms away at an altitude of 12,450 ft (3,780m) and takes around 4 to 5 hours mix of easy and steep trek. The terrain is rocky on most of the parts.
After Crossing the bridge over Bhagirathi River , the trail passes through the dazzling forests along with a mix vegetation zone of fir & bhoj trees, The spider wall was one of the major challenges which we have faced but altogether it was a great experience and first sight of captivating mountain Thalaysagar which is considered as one of the most beautiful mountain peaks in the world.
After reaching to our campsite we pitched our tents and had hot snacks and experienced splendid view from the campsite.
In the morning after a short briefing, we started our trek which is for 5 kms, it takes around 6 to 7 hours to reach at the altitude of 14,001 ft (4,267m).
The terrain has uniform ascents and descents, but this day was the easiest day in all of our 6 days. We got to see the snow-covered peak Bhrigupanth and Thalayasagar.  We passed through Kedar Ganga river ,Gila Pahar and big bugyals to reach the Kedar Kharak campsite, In my opinion this campsite was the best ever campsite I have ever experienced as, here you will be surrounded by many beautiful peaks and during night if you are lucky then this is heaven for stargazing and it is also a paradise for capturing start trails.
Kedar Kharak is also visited by animals such as blue sheep and other birds as well we have witnessed a bunch of blue sheep grazing near our campsite. We spent our night under the blanket of stars and get ourselves prepared for the next morning which is the summit day.
Today was the day for which we all were waiting for last 2 days and we woke up early in the morning and we prayed to God to make our summit day worth and bless us with good weather.
The Trek is for 8kms, taking 8 hours at altitude 16,116 ft (4,912 m) and back to 14,000 ft (4,267 m). To reach Kedar Tal we have to walk for 5 kms and this was the toughest part of the whole trek as we all were gaining altitude and it was becoming difficult to cope up with less oxygen but after hours of walking and some highly motivating mountaineering stories, we were able to do it.
Some were in tears of joy and some were proud of themselves and it was totally a mix of emotions after reaching the summit from Kedar Kharak which has glaciers covered with moraines. The trek emerges with the Kedar Bamak Glacier which is an amusing sight. The view of snow-covered Thalaysagar peak and frozen Kedartal was Breathtaking.
Later, trek back to Kedar Kharak was also a challenge as all of our energy was already consumed and in mountaineering, it is said that the climb is only successful when you reach the place from where you have started, so now, it is the time to go back to our campsite and celebrate our success.
Next day we have to walk for many hours and in my opinion, was the most difficult part although it was all descend but we all have to be careful as major accidents happened in mountains during descend time only.
We have to Trek for 11 kms for 8-9 hours back to altitude 10,055 ft (3,064 m). Trekking back to the rocky trail and reaching Gangotri and today was the celebration day so we all went for dinner and celebrated our successful summit and shared our views on how the experience was. Everyone was emotional as now everyone has to go back to their daily routine life.
Next day early morning we began our drive back from Gangotri to Dehradun which is 12-11 hours’ drive (258kms) and enjoying the feeling of accomplishment of being a wraveler!

At times there will be cracks in the ice and you will be continuing on your hike climbing snowy rocks and boulders. All in all this experience would be something you will be boasting about for your lifetime. Mind it, the trek is difficult not due to its steep hike but more because of the high altitude it takes you through. Prashar Lake Trek Yes, its around the year trek. But, if the vast sprawling green fields can lure you then imagine how would the place be shining out in a white cover.
