By: Abarrientos John Clyde M. ,Campoy Michael Brian L.Dela Rama, John Warry L.,Estremos Ariel S.,Tampus Russell John B
Tumblr media
The business "Ang Lechon Manok ni Sr. Pedro" is owned by Mr. Peter Unabia, Anakciano Inc. Unabia sits as a provincial board member in the 2nd district of Misamis Oriental. Peter created a foundation called the Anak Tering Foundation in honor of his mother, Tering, who was very religious. They used this framework to share the blessings to their citizens, farmers in Misamis Oriental. The foundation aims to provide livelihood opportunities for the small farmers by contracting them as suppliers of chicken broilers. The foundation gives them a series of free training on breeding broilers. They also produce chicks, feeds, and even medications and vaccines. The farmed chickens will be distributed to all the Ang Lechon Manok ni Sr. Pedro branches.
In the year 2008 Ang Lechon Manok ni Sr. Pedro had 250 outlets separated nationwide. It has taken a significant pace to culinary fame and fortune. Peter says, "I grew up understanding how hard our life is for a small farmer. We lived poor, and we were not able to rise from our unhappy situation. We didn't give up despite the many challenges. It helps to know that many others will benefit if you succeed, like my family, and yes, my kin, the farmers”. For him, hard work and enough will can bring success. He also wants to help the farmers by allowing them to prosper, free them from the bondage of credit, and develop a sense of ownership and trust, not dole out. Peter says, "Instead of giving the farmers fish, we teach them how to fish. This is our drive in the organization. It should not be dole out. Otherwise, the farmers will not prosper". In 2008 the foundation dealt with 1,624 farmers from Balingasag, Talisayan, and other remote towns in the province.

Weekly 7: Arbees bake shop
By: Abarrientos John Clyde M. ,Campoy Michael Brian L.Dela Rama, John Warry L.,Estremos Ariel S.,Tampus Russell John B
Tumblr media
Four siblings founded the history of Arbee's Bakeshop Arbee's Bakeshop in 1998, which started as a small business in the streets of Inayawan, Cebu. Once a small business, it eventually became a well-known bakeshop in Visayas and Mindanao parts. They started as a simple office at Laray, Inayawan Cebu, and began to build their official bakeshop at the same place. The company then planned to make branches at Basak, and later on, they created more branches in nearby barangays. These four siblings were business-minded since their first venture was not close to a bakeshop, but eventually, their bakeshop business became more popular.
At first, their bakeshop has sold a small variety of bread, ranging from plain bread such as francis bread, elourdes, and much more. Then they started to invent a new bracket of bread for people. They began to make sweetbreads that satisfied people's needs who sought the taste of the usual, plain, tasteless bread. They made Spanish bread, Ube filled, Choco filled, and more. With the growing industry of baking and the wants of the masses, Arbee’s continues to fill in.
As this business established its name, there were such priorities so that the customer buys its best such as:
- Delicious product with a low price - Giving you the best tasty products at a very affordable price.
- Clean Store - Makes you stay while eating their bread and pastries. Homemade - feeling you are happily eating together with your family.
- Comforting - Eating here will give you that warm feeling that comes from remembering the pure and cherished foods of your childhood.

Mrs. Julie Gandioco and her Family own Julie’s Bakeshop in Wireless, Mandaue, Cebu since January 6, 1981, in and put up her savings which amounted to Php19,000. She only first-served staples like Elorde, Everlasting, Pan de Coco, and Pandesal. This bakeshop business was mainly established because of the increasing needs of her family, which is something most people can relate also. At the age of 47, Julie Gandioco’s duties as a mother were becoming less and less demanding. The educational expenses of her kids were increasing, and her husband’s sugar farm was not doing well. So, she thought that there was something that she must do to help her husband.
At first, she would take bread from bakeshops she knew and sell it. At the point that her customers were increasing, she decided to make her bakeshop because one of her bread suppliers, Vicente Ruiz, encouraged her to make and take in her bakeshop so she could supply her own, and realized that it was such a good opportunity because the market was already there. Still, she was hesitant at first because she had no experience in the baking or bakeshop business.
And now though their high demand, Julie’s Bakeshop has ten branches all over Cebu now. The first Julie’s branch store outside as Cebu opened in Iloilo in 1988. The first Julie’s franchise was opened in 1998 in Mambajao, Camiguin. Julie’s bakeshop continues to grow with over 300 baked products and 500 branches in the country. And there, Julie’s bakeshop has been one of the most sought-after food franchising in Cebu and the whole Philippines.

Week 1 blog: Upper Spring Water Refilling Station
By: Abarrientos, John Clyde M. ,Campoy, Michael Brian L.,Dela Rama, John Warry L.,Estremos, Ariel S.,Tampus, Russell John B.
Tumblr media
This water refilling station is owned by Mrs. Jay-ar and Brenda Saromines and this water refilling station is located at Purok-2 Kiburiao, Quezon, Bukidnon.
This water refilling station business is the first refilling station business in their barangay, they manage the business without knowing how to run through it and grow. According to Mrs. Alma Lacubtan (managing the business), this business was started August 2020 funded by his nephew Jay-ar and wife Brenda, “when my nephew told me that they would run a water refilling station business, they want me to manage it so I also agreed because I don’t have a job and I want that too”. Starting a business like this takes a lot of courage and determination and there are so many unknowns that may happen like failures and they don’t want that to happened and so they offer and give a free delivery upon request of the customer within their barangay.
Tumblr media
Starting this kind of business is a bit risky since there is a water allocation from water district in their barangay and some of the resident there were just get their water to drink in it and some were used to buy from their station. They also run this business through the sort of pandemic since nowadays many of us want to have a good health and this is the perfect business idea they had to develop with perfect location and also, they want to ensure the quality, purity, and cleanliness of the water to provide in their barangay. All through this time they are grateful that it continuously operating and those water consumers over their barangay turns into their daily customer.
Water refilling stations greatly help reduce our plastic footprints and the amount making its way into oceans and landfills. Water refilling station also provide excellent quality water that will filter out any particles for us to drink a water safely.
