to all my protestors around the globe: remember antisemitism is not the answer to the genocide occurring to the Palestinian people. Israel is hiding behind a religion and using it to cover up their crimes. please do not take this out on any jewish students. they are not at fault for israel's crimes. remember we are fighting to end all harm, not simply pass it on to another group. be kind to the jewish people around you. and to all my jewish protestors: thank you and have a wonderful day <3

In this post from December 28, 2023 Nadia Abu Shaban, a photographer from Gaza, describes an incident where the building next to hers was bombed and she was injured. The photos in her post show the aftermath of her apartment. Nadia's caption is in a screenshot below, but I am also transcribing it in this post. (Content warning: while not graphic, this caption describes being bombed and physical injury from debris.)

Nadia's caption:
Waking up to someone yelling, "we need to leave the house immediately, an unexploded missile fell by the adjacent wall!"
I combed my hair before bedtime, and when I woke up it was filled with glass! My body still trembles; there's glass stuck in my head, and I can't move my left hand.
While asleep at 11:30 PM, the neighboring building was targeted again by two F-16 missiles, just about 5 meters from our sleeping heads!
I was staring at the stairs you see in picture #2. I was telling myself that sitting under the stairs would be safer!
I felt Israel would commit such an atrocity and targeting us while sleeping. I wished to wake everyone, but how? Do I tell people eagerly awaiting sleep, "Let's all sit under the stairs based on my instincts?"
I couldn't think twice; Israel struck with F-16 missiles seconds after I saw a red glow fill the room, heard the explosion, and felt glass, windows, and stones raining down. Someone carried me away from the collapsing house.
Unable to move or speak, surrounded by scared faces, and did we leave the house? did we go to the hospital? Did we escape?
We were about to leave when a neighbor warned us this morning: "You must evacuate; an unexploded missile is nearby."
We arranged our belongings, prepared ourselves for departure, then sat on the couch with a collective sigh, "Why go out? Every place is targeted! Let's die a bit more comfortably, at least no more displacement."
and btw, Ironically, we're neighbors to the hospital, mere meters away, yet we die easily, targeted, with houses falling on us.
How does one face death repeatedly, surviving each time, hoping for eternal survival? It's a slow death, preparing us for a greater one. In every attack, danger intensifies; damage extends. We survive but will we stay alive until the end? It feels like living a ruthless, dirty game, devoid of human principles, a nightmare I wish to wake up from. Is this our reality? I feel worthless now, my life might end, I'm a human without value, a forgotten number.
Unable to feel my hand…no more writing, period.

In a press conference held by the Palestinian Civil Defence in Gaza earlier today, they confirmed that they estimate 10,000 people remain missing under the rubble and that, with their very limited means right now, in order to be able to locate and exhume these bodies, the operation could take up to three years. Until then, these 10,000 are not counted among the casualties.
As summer approaches, the trapped bodies are going to be a major source of illnesses and epidemics are expected to spread. Already, there are 20,000 cases of hepatitis in Gaza.
All of this of course is made infinitely more difficult by Israel blocking fuel from entering while it continues to target civil defence vehicles. As a matter of fact, Rafah now has only 3 functioning fire trucks according to a Palestinian Civil Defence spokesperson.

a reminder that people will not be less ableist to you if they can see that you’re disabled! :-) being visibly disabled will not make things easier, and saying that we are privileged for being visibly disabled is just straight up ableism.
(yes, this is also relevant to NDs, but this post is specifically about being physically disabled. please respect that and do not derail, you have the power to Make Your Own Post.)

Early Sunday (April 28th), Israeli soldiers conducted raids and abducted at least fifteen Palestinians in the West Bank
The IOF stormed and ransacked dozens of homes, causing property damage. They took Palestinians in for long interrogations. They abducted former political prisoners who have already served their sentence. They also abducted two children.
This mainly happened in cities like Tulkarem, Qalqilia, Jenin, Tubas, Salfit, Jericho, and Jerusalem - however, some individuals were abducted from various cities not mentioned.
Some of the abducted individuals are named below:
In Qalqilia: Khaled Morad Eshteiwi (19 years old). Khaled is a student and former political prisoner. He was abducted after his home was stormed and ransacked.
In Nablus (Deir Al-Hatab village): Narmin Jamal Hussein, a young woman, was abducted from her home following an extreme military operation in her area.
In Hebron: Soheib Salama Abu Daoud was abducted after his home was invaded and searched.
In Jericho: Ziad Saleh Ibrahim Nujoom (18 years old) was abducted from an-Nuway’imah village, Suhaib Ramzi Hussein Farah (18 years old) was abducted from the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp, and Raed Saed Fayek Ibrahim (18 years old) was abducted at a southern military roadblock in the city, despite being a resident of Ein Sultan refugee camp.
The Israeli military has been carrying out many abductions at many areas and villages in the West Bank. Palestinians are not safe in their homes, they get stopped at military roadblocks, and are held hostage to put pressure on "wanted" family members.
