I just wanted to share with you that this scene makes me so sad, emotional, yet happy at the same time. Zero forgave Kaname, yet I needed a better closure between them.
Thereās always a but.
Kaname doesnāt regret doing those mistakes, but he does feel remorse about Zeroās situation.
And Zero looks so sad here I think this is one of the rare moments where he shows this kind of emotion in front of Kaname.
I feel like Kaname wanted to say more, but he decided not to. The way he looks at Zero is kind of filled with sadness, seriousness, but itās still a little soft.
Hereās part 2 about Kanameās guilt concerning Zero.
In VKM, Ichijou remembers how Kaname told him about what heās done. Takuma admonished him for that, but he saw it in his friendās face; the pain, since he had done it for Yuuki in neccessity, the guilt he felt for being the main reason for Zeroās suffering, and self-hatred.
āThe gaping wound inside of himā
Ichijou understood that Kaname takes huge measures for the person he loves, so he ends up in the darkness while trying to protect the light, and additionally he lives a life full of remorse and agony because of that. Heās a contradiction.
Ichijou is a dear friend of Kaname, and we know from him that Kaname had only opened up to him about releasing Shizuka, so I think of him as a person who was closest to Kaname. Thatās why Ichijou knew Kaname really well, and here is the proof that Kaname suffered from depression, and he kind of still will, since erasing oneās memories doesnāt mean the depression will fade.
So if Kaname was depressed during VK, and as I showed before - heās a person who hates himself and feels remorse, we can say that he really felt guilty about Zero.
But Iād like to give the āhow he felt about ruining Zeroās lifeā some more thought. (Pt. 1)
Here, the child sheās reffering to is no one other but Zero, since he was the knight of the manga, the weapon Kaname carefully nurtured, and, at the same time, the symbol of Kanameās sin.
Kaname is aware that he played a huge part in Zeroās life.
Zero releases his pent-up anger, and soon after Kaname appears, though heās not there in person.
I believe that Kanameās sure that Zero knows about his motives, that he knew all along. Zero has always understood Kanameās true nature.
Even though Kanameās not here in person, we can see that heās suffering. Thereās a dark aura surrounding him, making him a person whoās closed off, secretive.
But as the tension increases, Kaname shows more emotions, because Zero finally finds out about his sins.
I donāt know about you guys, and Kanameās facial expression is up for interpretation, but heās in pain, full of guilt and self-loathing in this scene.
Hereās an example on how Zero isnāt able to put himself first, which makes me really sad, because that means heād be more okay with the suffering Kaname caused him if Ichiru wasnāt involved - and Zero would be involved still.
I wanted it to be longer, but Tumblr doesnāt allow more than 9 pics, Iāll post more in the 2nd part!
I know this theory is popular but another sign that Zero could be the hooded ladyās remnants/reincarnation is that Kaname sometimes calls Zero by the first name, and we know that in Japanese it means that your close/closer to the other person (have a close relationship with them)
Here are some pics, I only took a few but he called him āZeroā on various occasions:
There used to be a post with VKM cd dramas with Ai, Ren, Yuuki and Zero looking through a photo album for example. It was with translations, but I canāt find it now. Does anyone know where I can find those recordings, if they are not here?
