Hello, I have a dentist appointment this month (birthday month! 🥳) and also need to renew my dental plan. That is around $350-450. Including this, medications, and groceries, I believe I will need about $750 in financial assistance this month. I am very grateful and appreciative for the help have previously and currently receive. Thank you for the support! ❤️

It’s probably confirmation bias thinking that Boeing’s aircraft are falling out the sky all the time, but it sure feels like they are.

No one is discrediting the student protests. I myself am a student who is partaking in largely student-coordinated protests, drives, campaigns… but I also understand that we are largely missing the point if coverage of these protests overshadows what they are actually protesting for—the atrocities committed on Palestinians every single day. As the western buzz around this genocide gets more and more coverage, the coverage of the genocide itself sharply declines. It’s true and I see it every single day. Things are not being reported with the precision and diligence they should be.

In Japanese, they don’t say “moon,” they say “tsuki,” which literally translates to “moon,” and I think that’s how language works.

Stop calling Israel “secular” ffs. It’s like saying ISIS is “secular” just because they dont speak for all Muslims. Israel is a theocratic-fascist society that explicitly has an official religion, discriminates based on its official religion and privileges people of certain religious backgrounds over others. The impiety of Israelis has no relation to whether its “secular” or not just as the hypocritical impiety of Saudi rulers don’t change that it’s a theocratic society.
“Secular” Israel is part of its false promise of liberation no different from pinkwashing

It bothers me how many people are morally incurious, and it bothers me even more how many people seem to think that interrogating morality is proof of immorality- because I'm pretty sure that the latter is at least partly driving the former. Asking why an action or institution is wrong does not necessarily mean that someone thinks that that action or institution is right. If you never ask yourself why something is wrong or right, then what is determining your morality? Because it's not you.

Although most people in the GDR lived in rented accommodation (at controlled and affordable rents – typically five per cent of one’s income), a considerable minority owned their own houses and some (often craftsmen, small business people, but also workers) built their own privately owned houses. [...] Rent levels remained virtually unchanged throughout the life of the GDR and no one could be evicted from their home. The war had left an acute housing shortage, and throughout its history the GDR fought to overcome the lack of decent housing. [...]
Although much of the housing built by the GDR has been patronisingly dismissed by Westerners as faceless ‘barracks’, this is to ignore the innovative technological aspects of the ‘Plattenbauten’ of the time as well as the spatial and economic context that informed their design. With the acute housing shortage after the war, the priority was to build sufficient housing as rapidly as possible. The Soviet method of using pre-fabricated elements which were easy to put together and build was chosen. But these new housing units were not just thrown up and left abandoned in an urban desert like so many faceless suburban housing projects throughout the Western world. The government instituted a socio-political planning strategy which prescribed that each new housing complex would include the necessary infrastructure of schools, nurseries, sports facilities, polyclinics, shops and restaurants. This meant that the new tenants would have everything they need within walking distance and could begin to build good neighbourly relations very quickly. [...]
The right to adequate housing has long been enshrined in the UN Charter of Human Rights as a basic human right, yet few countries do more than pay lip service to it. In the GDR it was a reality – everyone had a roof over their head and security of tenure or ownership.
