All that work this poor boy did trying to prove himself "worthy" of the cloak only to rip it off the second he knows what it really means just
This episode was so BIG for him and I'm so HAPPY and PROUD but also COME BACK you don't have to hide away in the woods!
(I'm going to tell myself he ran off to Willow's house until proven otherwise to make myself feel better)

Kinda dark, Thomas with a woman that has amnesia who he tricked into thinking they’re engaged? She asks him about their relationship and he has no trouble fabricating answers to appease her.
still to this day, i want to write a series about this lol
Stepping on Glass
WARNING: Dark!Thomas, Obsession, Captivity, Amnesia.
None the wiser, as if nothing ever happened. Thomas hadn't expected this to happen but how happy was he when he found out, the doctor said she might not regain her memories. It saddened him to know that some of their more exciting adventures would be forgotten but now that he's softened her up there won't be any struggle. No more chasing her through the house as she attempted her escape, Thomas had always been sweet with her. Nothing but kind, he cared for her and he made sure that she knew that. He could sense that his beloved was still hesitant to allow him to hold her but he accepted a simply light caress here and there, holding her hands. She let him slip the Sharpe family ring on her finger, soon enough there'll be another one in its place. A gold band, the mark of love.
''Do we sleep in the same room?''
Ever so curious, Thomas' answers were already picked. He would lie through his newfound iron teeth, his sister had taught him so well. Shame about her, Thomas knew that she didn't like it. This whole marriage business, she knew that her brother had found himself a target. A woman worthy of him, he believed the little bird to be worthy of his love. His heart fit so perfectly in her hand, just a little nibble is all he asked for. Thomas knew better than to devour her whole, he aimed to keep her alive and to keep her with him. So small, delicate scrapings of her love would fuel him until she opens up.
''Oh no- Heavens no, not yet at the very least. We aren't husband and wife just yet, you sometimes come to me in the night. The house sometimes unsettles you when it storms.''
There was truth in his words, she did sleep in another room in the house and she did in fact knock on his door late in the night for his comfort and company but he would insist on her sleeping in his bed. Thomas loved to watch her as her eyes grow heavy, slowly drifting off to sleep. He prayed that her dreams be pleasant and filled with their future, their wedding and perhaps their children. Thomas wanted children, his blushing bride wasn't entirely fond of children however but what she didn't know about herself, wouldn't hurt her. This was fascinating, truly. She recalls her home, her family and she recalls her age but somehow her entire stay at Crimson Peak was lost. Might as well, this would give them a fresh start. They would start over.
''I do?''
How Thomas loved those quiet nights in his bedroom, he'd gather her into his arms. He listens to her frightened gasps, smoothing down her hair. Wiping away her tears, she had always been so beautiful when she cries. Even in her sorrow she remained the most graceful woman, a true lady. Thomas felt lucky, so incredibly fortunate.
''Yes, we sit together by the fire most times. I read to you, you love it when I read. Sometimes we just talk, about our wedding and our future together. I remember you saying something about having found the perfect names for our children. I can't recall them.''
Ernest for a boy, he knew exactly what he wanted for his son. They could have multiple sons, in that case he would have to think of more names but Ernest was reserved for his firstborn son. The thought of her with a baby in her arms, Thomas felt the heat in his face. His cheeks reddening at the thought of her body, swollen with love. He wanted to make that happen soon, he couldn't do it now. She had just woken up from her accident, he needed to care for her now. Thomas would make sure she would be happy and healthy.
''How long have we been engaged?''
Thomas sniffles.
''Only two months, we've been planning our wedding but then you took that tumble down the stairs. I was so beside myself darling.''
He was quick to grab a hold of her hands, squeezing them tightly. Thomas admits that his temper got to him, it was only an accident but he had been so distraught while calling for the doctor. He had carried her all the way up to his bedroom, crying. He hadn't felt so scared in his life, to lose the woman he loved? Terrifying thought. She seemed to panic, squeezing back with her hands. So delicate.
''It's alright- I- I'm alright.''
The soft smile that graced her lips, it took every ounce of willpower for Thomas to not give in and kiss that woman senseless.
''I thank our lord that you are, I wouldn't know what I'd do with myself if I lost you. I love you.''
He could see that she seemed to bristle at his words, his declaration of love to her managed to make her jump. Thomas was immediately relieved to she her smile widening, becoming brighter by the second.
''You do?''
How could she ever doubt that? He chuckles.
''More than anything in this world...''
Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever-
