if han solo was one of those greasy sci fi butches working with all that heavy machinery (spaceship) , sweating through her tank top.. i think that would’ve fixed the star war

Padme Amidala, 1932-1958
Well, that’s a wrap on our fashion queen! I expect I’ll dip back into “Modern Star Wars” to do other characters in the future, but in the meanwhile, thank you to my patrons for the support that allows me to tackle long projects like this! I have another big one planned for once the dust settles on Infinity War and Solo ;)
The other pieces of the project! - Postcard prints - Poster

““It took me a long time to realize that Star Wars is not a futuristic world, it is a mythological one. Star Wars happened a long time ago, so it is more mythology than science fiction. Consequently, what we design doesn’t have to make scientific sense, but it must spark some recognition with a familiar mythological archetype.””

look, the Jedi code that forbids love doesn’t just forbid possessive love or selfish love. It forbids love, period. It’s an important plot point, and while it casts the Jedi in a pretty bad light, it’s actually supposed to do that. Non-film media that tried to retconn that love is allowed and non-attachment is actually just healthy boundaries misses the point in order to produce a less-nuanced story where the Jedi order is unambiguously heroic.

I know Cody was the madlad who jumped on Grievous but I NEED to know who the two other dudes who immediately backed him up were. It's one thing to make a bad decision but imagine watching someone make a bad decision and then going YES I AM GETTING IN ON THIS
And Cody was on the bottom of the pile so it definitely wasn't him that hit Grievous with the grappling line, what complete fucking nutcase used the hookshot on Grievous

im gonna have to put my thoughts in order properly about this but ive been thinking a lot about how huttese, as a language heavily involved in slave trade in sw universe, should really inspire so so many creoles
like, irl historically creolisation has been associated with slavery because its the kind of language development that happens when a bunch of people who do not speak a common language are (forcibly) put in a close community, with one language being dominant (superstratal). the thing thats actually so interesting is the grammatical influence of the non-dominant (substratal) languages in the development of the new creole. a lot of the time when people discuss this in worldbuilding they acknowledge that for eg, in a huttese based creole, there would be a certain amount of non-huttese words but im really really obsessed with the grammar aspect. like for example, the gullah language irl has no possessive pronouns so personal pronouns get added to the possessive noun. and in jamaican maroon language, the biggest substratum influence is from the akan language, due to that ethnic group being dominant among the slave population so its factors like that that influence the linguistic heritage of the creole. its not just the words used, its the whole way of talking, of expressing oneself that stays with the people even when they're using someone else's words, yk?
and applying that process of language development to star wars, i think there should be some distinction between places with a twi'lek majority vs places with idk, human majority (tho it does bother me a bit that its assumed that the twi'leks all speak the same language with minimal variations while humans have multiple but i willfully ignore that). and for example, the occupation matters too. given the way twi'leks are sexualised in sw, it wouldn't be too surprising if the words for love & intercourse in a given creole language were actually semi-transformed ryl loanwords. in my own brain, ryl also uses dual, aside from just singular and plural and this is something that sometimes carries over in creoles with a strong twi'lek majority. and idk, anything to do with hair styles and hair is probably taking vocabulary from the language of the human majority, whatever that is. probably basic, if all humans are from coruscant
