One day, whether you are 14, 28 or 65, you will stumble upon someone who will start a fire in you that cannot die. However, the saddest, most awful truth you will ever come to find - is they are not always with whom we spend our lives.

A painter in Los Angeles kept missing his exit for the I-5 on the 110 highway, so he did his research, climbed up the overhead sign, and changed it himself without anyone noticing.
This is Richard Ankrom. He couldn’t find his damn exit, cuz it wasn’t properly labelled.
Tumblr media
So he took life by the balls, like any self-respecting Californian would do, and used his sign-painting expertise to fix it himself.
Tumblr media
He called it ‘guerilla public service.’ Even got himself an outfit to look official. It worked, obvi.
Tumblr media
Caltrans investigated, but the sign was actually up to code. They left it there for 8 years before they made an updated sign.

A man goes to a bar and gets very drunk. His wallet gets stolen. The next morning he realizes his wallet was stolen and reports it missing, telling the police he does not remember the events of the night before because he was too drunk. However, two witnesses do remember and lead the police to the culprit. The culprit is charged with theft, and the victim’s level of intoxication at the time of the crime is not used as a excuse for the criminal’s culpability.
Wouldn’t it be neat if we treated rape the same way?

I just posted this to facebook but I thought I might share it here, too: Whenever there’s another rape case coming to light there’s a certain pattern displayed that suggests that women have a past while men have a potential. When we are violated we are almost certainly asked how our behaviour, choice of clothes, state of mind and so on played a part and made us deserving of what happened to us. And often our past is scrutinised and the most innocent things are unearthed to find clues. When men violate women, their past is not scrutinised as vigorously as women’s, rather they’re asked ‘What do you have to lose?’ and it’s their future that’s looked at for clues.
