I'm terrified I won't make rent. I needed the cat stuff, but we need rent, too, and I can't go to a charity for another seven months.

At this point I'm 85$ short, and even that will put me 55$ in the hole. Then there's the increase in my Internet because I'm sure the ACP won't be saved in time if it'll be saved at all.

I have no one I can ask offline for help.

I'm crying. I hate poverty. I hate not being able to work. I hate being disabled. I hate my brain being so expensive to keep running correctly. I hate that I couldn't finish college. I hate that it took so damned long to get my diagnosis. I hate that the doctors wouldn't listen to my mom when I was tiny and my brain could have been saved. I hate that I need to live in a city because of my brain so I have to pay city costs.

I want to be healthy, and 'normal', and work a job. Any job. So I can be self sufficient. I want that so bad I'm crying over it. Asking for help, begging for commissions, not being able to draw for the joy of creating. I hate this. I hate it so much.

I'm miserable and humiliated

I need assistance. So I have to beg. My cats are all that's holding me together even a little bit, I'm fraying otherwise. Bless their tiny heads. Bless their soft beans. Bless their chaos and affection....

If you didnt believe Laios was autistic before todays episode i hope it clears that up for you

we were first shown his special interest, a very autistic trait to have. We get to see him indulge in his interest, we get to see him happy.

but this episode contains the scene that makes it clear Laios cannot understand social cues, tone of voice, sarcasm, or subtlety. He actively suffers socially with other humans.

Shuro is pissed Laios didnt pick up on the fact that he hated Laios, because he was being passive aggressive (at best, Shuro bottled up a lot of feelings), and said verbally he was Laios' friend. Laios takes things at face value, if someone says "im your friend" that's what he believes is true.

He hates that Laios "gets to be genuine". I hate the way he says that "gets" as if its a privilege for Laios. It's a privilege for Shuro who is nobility and has his behavior and emotions stifled. Laios doesnt understand that others are NOT genuine. he's not from that world.

that's why Laios asks "why didnt you TELL me?" and Shuro says it should have been obvious.

it was NOT obvious to Laios, not at all.

And also, that was who Laios thought was his FIRST friend on the island. he thought he made a friend, something actively difficult for him to do.

it devastated him to learn that he was wrong the entire time.

some of y'all need to learn how to accept hospitality. stop assuming people are only offering to look after you out of twisted obligation that they don't actually want to do. when you assume that, you are often denying someone the opportunity to genuinely show a friend or stranger love. even if you don't really care about what they're offering, it's respectful of their desire to be kind to accept it anyways.

i had a bunch of girls i've never met over for a women's group. every single one of them denied my offer to make them tea (despite already making myself a mug anyways), get them water, a scone, etc.

i can tell when people refuse to let me be a good host because they "don't want to be a bother". like no!! please be a bother!!! i want to serve you and make you comfortable in my home!

not to be like "we live in a society" but really do live in a modern culture than emphasizes individualism to the point where people will reflexively deny any help or kindness from others for fear of treading on their independence. newsflash: dependence on each other is what makes a community. next time someone offers you kindness, accept it instead of making excuses for why you don't need it. otherwise you've robbed both yourself of being loved and someone else from showing love.

Hey, folks. It's me again. Resident struggling disabled artist and pet parent.

I got my SSI payment, got my bills paid, and found out I'm short for rent by 3$ after going for groceries out of desperation, yesterday. I was in the hole by 55$ when I got paid, and I was desperately trying to fix that so I'd have that money to work with, but unfortunately I didn't manage to sort it out in time.

I can't afford cat food or litter, as it stands, and I kinda need that. And more food to last till the 8th because I have no faith what I have will make it that far. I have till the 5th to get rent in. I'm scared I won't make it again. Every time I ask where my parents can see it solidifies their decision that when my mom's accident settlement comes through, I'm going back to live with them.

I won't survive that.
