Dimitar has his whole "I'm braver and tougher than everyone else because the only armor I wear is a metal bikini" thing but you know how much armor a typical elf wears? None. We're all wearing less armor than you, Dimitar. If you were really as tough as you say you are, you'd take off your bikini too, Dimitar. Do it. Unless you're not as brave as you pretend to be? Unless you, the King of Ogres, are more cowardly and weak than the typical elf?

Spoilers for never seen Kotlc
Something that doesn’t sit right with me is that after they learn alvar is with the never seen and they tell Alden Della just isn’t there and it’s not like she was half an hour late she came to havenfeild like less then two minutes after Sophie and co showed up
I just feel that that is pretty big information that should be shared with the whole family at once

On nobody else, because you're a beautiful individual. Tam, to Keefe: Be my friend or I'll set your entire family on fire. Biana: There are two types of people.

I think 20 (How old do you think Councillor Bronte is?) is the most appropriate one to ask you, but I'm also gonna throw in 15 (Who do you think is genuinely the evillest of all the characters?) because I'm curious about your opinion on that. Also, sorry for accidentally unfollowing you just now lol
He was appointed as an Emissary 5,000 years ago, so canonically, at least a little older than that.
I think he's a lot older than that, though.
Some of what he said about Amy implies that he was around before the elves separated themselves from humans and sunk Atlantis. Keeper doesn't tell us when that happened, but if we rely on what Plato says about Atlantis in Timaeus and Critias (which is the first mention of Atlantis in human literature and is consistent with the descriptions of Atlantis in Keeper), we can estimate that it occurred about 11,600 years ago.
So a bit older than 11,600 years old.
---------------------
The evillest character, in my opinion, is Gethen.
Every other character who does evil things has a motive. Dimitar wants to help his people. Fintan wants to end the pyrokinesis ban and stop the humans from taking over the world. Gisela just wants to rule the world.
Some of those motivations aren't great, but all of them HAVE a motivation. Even if the motivation doesn't justify their actions, the end goal isn't to hurt people. They're not hurting people for fun.
But Gethen is. Maybe he has a motivation we don't know about for being part of the Neverseen. Maybe not. But regardless, he seems to actively enjoy hurting people.
He defies Neverseen orders to hurt Sophie. He laughs at Sandor's apparent death. He uses a melder on her a second time even after she's already stunned. And this is in just one chapter.

He's truly evil.

5. If you could give one character any item, what and whom would it be? (Hard mode: You can't give anyone a gun.)
6. How do you think more "human" animals, like dogs or horses, fit into the elvin world?
7. What's your opinion on the elvin economy?
Oh many numbers! Okay I got this
5. Does a house count as an item? Because if so I would want to give Keefe a place of his own where he can exist on his own without either of his parents or the memories of his childhood, a place where he doesn't feel indebted to friends either (including Elwin). I think he needs a space to unwind and call his own that's actually his where he's in control, so Alvar's old place doesn't count. I don't think there's any one item that could win the kotlcrew's fights for them (including a gun), because I think those issues stem from preparation and application of their abilities and morals. Not that they should compromise on their morals, but that the problems they're facing are not a lack of resources, but instead a lack of experience, information, or reasoning. Bringing a gun to Loamnore wouldn't have made Sophie think of a better way to keep everyone safe. So instead of focusing on the battles, I'd want to address the issues the characters are facing outside of the Neverseen, and Keefe's seemed most pressing. Everyone else is in a position where they're safe and can process and heal and be taken care of, except for Keefe. He's still (or was before he ran away) with his abusive dad and constantly on guard, and that's not going to help anyone
6. Simply put, I don't think they fit into the elvin world. They have no reason to be there other than as like...native species in the areas or something. Neither dogs nor horses are endangered or at risk of anything, they're cared for relatively well by the human world so there's no need to be concerned for them. They're well integrated into the human world as well, so there's no risk of them being hunted to extinction or out of fear (like say, a murcat or alicorn would be). Elves have better means of transportation that horses and plenty of other pet options outside of dogs. The pervasive association they have with humans may make their status as a pet lesser than typical elvin pets, so I imagine the dogs or horses that are in the elven world as regarded similar to pet tarantulas in the human world. Like "...why would you do that when there's so many other better pets." Not that I share that belief, but I think that would be the reaction. I just don't think they have a place in the elven world! The ones that are there are a outlier
7. I've talked about the elvin economy before so to summarize my musings: I don't think it's functional outside of suspension of disbelief. Their economy is staged around money; they exchanage money for goods and services. But everyone has seemingly infinite money. The standard is one million lusters, equivalent to a trillion USD, though there is some variation amongst that. The point is they're all rich and all indulging in the same luxuries. Their money, because of how prevalent it is, loses it's meaning. It has no worth when there's no need for it. There's no real reason to pursue more money or do anything to earn it, and it's not a reward to gain more when you already have so much. It sounds like a system that would collapse as soon as it was actually enacted.
Ta-da!! All three questions answered!! I surprised myself with some of these answers but it's highly entertaining to think about

Headcanon that Sophie does instinctively understand the Enlightened Language, but that she thinks in English. Elves have all their own turns of phrase, but she hears them and goes "oh, they mean_". This is why in her pov, a panicing elf would still say "I almost had a heart attack", when they really said something like "my mind could've broken" or wtvr.

Elven Dress: loungewear and sleepwear
Written by: Florence vixen
Traditionally there was no distinction between loungewear and sleepwear. A person would merely change into a near identical outfit for bed. Recent trends have transformed sleepwear into something completely unrecognizable.
Loungewear is a very vague term. The outer garments can be practically anything from robes, to shifts, to dresses. Undergarments are one of the only consistencies. Men wear simple cotton undershorts. Women will wear either a pair of combinations or a shift. Both of these garments can be as lacy or simple as the wearer wants. A laie (1) may be worn for certain activities such as letter writing but goes generally unused.
Younger men generally go around in loose clothes. They wore linen undershirts and pants. The pants are heavily embroidered. Some men prefer to go without pants and wear on their undershorts. They may wear a robe over this when the weather gets cold. Older men generally wear a long robe. Robes have three highly decorated ties braided together. These ties can be separated to hitch up the sleeves.
Women’s wear is incredibly diverse. Many choose to keep their shift as their only layer. Others wear looses gowns in multiple different styles. These are meant to emanate softness, gentle and full in their design. Embroidery is extremely prevalent especially around the bust area. Women may also wear a light colored shirt and pair of pants. These are as full as men’s wear and as elaborately decorated as the dresses. Robes may be worn over all clothing when cold. Older women prefer robes as overwear in any weather.
In recent years, sleepwear trends have changed. Shifts have been abandoned, but undergarments stay relatively the same. Outerwear has morphed from elegant practicality to utter ridiculousnesses. The youth now sleep in garments that emulate different animals. These can be compared to the human garment onesies. Even the youth in titled households have adopted this crude trend.
Loungewear is worn on leisure days at home. The only people unrelated to a person that will see them in this dress are extremely close friends. Leisurewear is entirely modeled after functionality and freedom of movement. Domestic tasks like cooking are easily accomplished. This is considered mid level formality for form (2) dress.
1 a garment that provides back support
2 a type of dress which seeks to at most softly emphasize the body
