I really don’t know how to feel about this.

On one hand, this person is living their life in their body.

On the other hand, this brand clearly and definitively markets itself as A WEIGHT LOSS BRAND.

If Lizzo went to her healthcare provider and they said sure go ahead and just drink smoothies for 10 days, whatevs and it had nothing to do with an advertisement then whatever girl go on then.

But she’s peddling this to her already vulnerable fan base. A fan base who’ve valued her body positivity. A lot of that fan base that might not know you can’t hide behind the guise of “detox” and “gut health” when the bio on the god damn company page touts “Lose Belly Fat and Slim Waistline” as it’s most note worthy benefit. A fan base that may not know Smoothie Fasts aint a sustainable way to lose weight, restore lasting healthy gut biome and form a healthy relationship with food if that truly is your end-all goal.

I do believe people share some of the responsibility of which brands they align themselves with. I just don’t think this is on brand for Lizzo.
