hinata had just came back from work ; exhausted yet as aimlessly walking as ever after hours of running around doing jobs ( being a member of future foundation was no joke ) , a quick glance was made to his phone -- which he almost reached out for , wanting to hear nanami’s voice -- before komaeda interrupted in.

  “ what are you talking about---? ”

oh. that-- yes , that. though there was the initial shock from being approached by komaeda suddenly , emotions didn’t cloud his view long enough for him not to analyze their situation and see the problem that was causing komaeda distress. ( that . . . ?. rantarou still . . .  ) the mention of ‘ that game ’ & its tie to their relationship , as well as everything else komaeda was saying , could have made him flinch and turn his gaze away if he wasn’t so dulled to his own emotions by this point that he wouldn’t even recognize them in the mirror anymore ( and did those red eyes stare back at him telling him of the same--- ) and maintaining his cool through the breakdown overtaking his husband , he spoke to him calmly---

( or was it coldly ? who could tell anymore ? )

  “ don’t get it wrong--- you know that i love you , nagito , you’re still my husband. i know you don’t look at yourself realistically , not even now , but i choose you and that hasn’t changed. it never will. me and nanami are just friends--- we are close , but that’s about it. ”
