Luhan only shook his head, eyes shutting close wishing he could vanish from this area and be taken anywhere else but here. The past had been long forgotten, pushed away to never be open again. Once he resigned himself that there was no more Chanhee, he swore to himself to live a quiet life in Korea. Time had gone by and he was finally completing his goal but here he was, forced to face it all over again.
“You’re Han from the institute, and I’m Chanhee...We met back then and escaped together, but we were separated. Don’t you remember?”
Flashes of that moment appeared behind his eyes. His mind transported him back to that day when he younger.
His small frail hands held a gun ahead of him. His finger on the trigger shock for the first time during an assigned task. The gun was aimed at a small shaking boy, tied up to a chair sobbing loudly. The boy was his roommate, the only one he had opened his soul during all the years within the steel walls. “Pull the trigger already, Han! You’re taking too long!”. The boy snapped and turned around shooting the instructor behind him. His legs rushed behind him and ran to his friend quickly untieing him. He took his face between his hands wiping his tears away, “Promise me, you’ll run as fast as you can. Don’t look back, okay? I’ll be right here”, he spoke quietly before the sound of footsteps approached them. He remembers the number of bullets he used running towards the only exit, he knew existed.  He recalls pushing the boy ahead of him and telling him to run while he stayed behind to attack those pursuing them. The last thing he could recall before the world went black, a bullet piercing him in the chest and a blow to his head.
Luhan couldn’t remember when he began crying, tears streaming down his cheeks. “C-Chanhee?”, his voice cracked while his body began shaking underneath.

Places fresh cut strawberries to top off the two glasses. Walks over to their usual table and sets down the two drinks. Settles down in his seat with a grin, crossing his legs. “Two of our favorite drinks~”, Luhan lifted his eyes and smiled glancing over at his beloved. “Oh! Pasta! My favorite!”, his eyes lighting up. Picks up a nearby fork and takes a bite of the food.”Hmm~” He smiled tasting the food. “So good~”
”I miss you around too, Luhan.” Chanhee replied in a soft voice, mimicking the smile on the other’s lips. “I’ll go set up our lunches in our usual spot, ne?” He questioned the male but moved in the direction anyway, knowing that the other couldn’t reject him if he tried. Nimble fingers opened the bags and pulled out two containers with freshly made pasta filled to the brim. It was Luhan’s favorite, and Chanhee loved the smile that he received when the other took a bite of his food.

"I know, I just miss you being around more often but I can't complaint since I'm not neither. " Offers a soft smile and nods his head on agreement. "Sounds like a good plan!"  Turns around and starts grabbing the ingredients to make his fiancé a fresh glass of strawberry iced tea.
”I haven’t been too busy to the point where I can’t cook at home though.” Chanhee mirrored the smile on the other male’s lips. “I’ll wait by our usual seats then. Can you make me a strawberry iced tea though? It’s really addicting!”

Memories flooded through his head of the long gone past he would do his best to pretend never occurred, of course, that never worked out. Luhan felt his body shake underneath him, losing grip on his composure. His hand reached for the countertop beside him, fingers gripping the edge tightly. With each word that flowed out of the other everything he tried to make himself believe was beginning to shatter.
"P-Please don't..." The brunette whimpered out in fear in a low voice. He pled internally for the model to stop speaking but that didn't occur. This couldn't be it, this couldn't be happening. He repeated to himself over and over again. Luhan felt himself being dragged down again at the mention of the name. Chanhee. The Chanhee. The one name he knew back when all he knew in his childhood was the institution for years.
After managing to escape the horrid place, it was the only name he could find himself saying. He remembers laying down in a hospital bed chanting the name to the doctors and nurses asking for anything about the boys whereabouts. Even after being releasing and taken back to his estranged birth parents, he couldn't stop repeating the name. He had to find him. He had to find the boy who gave him a purpose to continue on in the depths of hell.
Arriving in Korea and finding no traces of the boy, destroyed him internally. He had gone through several doctors that would only tell him to move on, get past it. The boy was dead, was the common response considering most the children he was with were killed after the raid. But here he was, standing a few feet away.
"Please don't ask me that...." He shook his head as he felt his eyes water. "Don't do this to me again." His hands reached out to hug himself closely, nails digging into the skin of his arms. Head staying low refusing to look up at his ghost from the past.  "He's gone...he left me. Please don't ask me t-that. " His voice cracked as years of memories flooded into his mind. Life couldn't be this cruel yet so sweet to bring back his Chanhee.

“Aigo, you didn’t have too. I know you’ve been busy. I do like your meals, though! Well, more like love them!”. He smiled at the gesture and laughs softly. “I’m almost done! I’m just waiting for my worker to come take over. You can wait for me and we can go home together?”
”Since you like my meals so much, and I haven’t been making you home cooked meals lately, I decided to cook you your favorite fettuccine alfredo.” The smile stayed on his lips as he spoke to the other. “I’m also done for the day since my photo shoot finished early, so I can hang out here or go back home. Are you busy?”

Internally, Luhan whined about his shirt getting wet but he didn’t let it get to him. The cafe was already at its closing time and he would head home soon to wash up. He held onto the shirt and blinked hearing the models answer. That was the moment he glanced down at himself and his whole face turned red. He really took off his shirt. In front of the model. He debated on running away right there and jumping into a hole but what was done, was already done.
The brunette held up the shirt to his chest, trying to make himself somewhat modest. It wasn’t like he could slip back on the wet shirt, that would be just insane plus he would like to avoid a cold. All he had to do was walk a few steps towards the back to grab a shirt. Taking a deep breath, he walked past you to reach the back.
Thanking the heavens for his extra shirt, he slipped it on and began to button it up. His face still bright red from the embarrassing situation earlier. The cafe owner began of thinking of ways to play it off cool, perhaps another piece of cake could make the model forget about it?
His thoughts were interrupted the moment he heard his first name. His fingers froze on the top button of his shirt as cold, frightening, words continued to flow out into the air. Luhan hadn’t heard his first name in years, ever since arriving in Korea nor about the institution.
The institution. The one who stole his entire childhood from him. The one that not only left scars on him but on his soul. As much as tried to leave it behind, it seems it always chased back up on him. Who was his guy? Fear was flowing through his mind, clouding his thoughts to think clearly.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about…” His voice was becoming weak, his body shaking with fear.

lchvnh:
”Luhan..” He repeated the name to memorize it, nodding slowly to himself. “Ah, you’re the owner? You look really young to be the owner of a cafe like this.” His eyes glanced around the interior of the quaint place, a warm smile gracing his lips. “I think this place is really cute.” Chanhee’s eyes met the owner’s again, offering a bright smile that reached his dark brown eyes.
“So Luhan, how long have you owned this place?” He questioned to try and keep the mood lively, taking a sip of his strawberry iced tea after. The drink did wonders on his taste buds, much like the diminishing slice of green tea cake. He really had to come here more often in order to satisfy his sweet tooth, but only if his manager allowed him to of course. Being a model placed multiple limits on what he could eat and how often he had to exercise, but everything was worth it in the end. He’d do anything to continue staying in the spotlight, even if the cake and the drink were really delicious and addicting.
“I can’t believe I’ve never been here before though. My company building is down the street a little way.” His hand lifted to gesture in a direction, though he didn’t think Luhan would actually catch on to what he was saying. “I’m a model based here in Seoul, yet I don’t have many opportunities to walk around the city to enjoy the things it offers.” As he reached to grab his drink again, Chanhee managed to hit the other male’s drink with his clumsy fingers. Eyes widened as the liquid splashed onto the cafe owner’s clothes. “A-aigoo! Sorry about that!” Chanhee walked around with the napkin from his tray, gently dabbing Luhan’s shirt and pants to wipe up the spilled drink.
A small laugh slipped past his lips. “Ne, uh...thank you?” He glanced into the models eyes and instantly a warm blush spread across his cheeks. Who knew working today at the cafe was going to get him a late evening snack with the model he practically drooled at. Luhan bowed his head slightly before reaching for another piece off the brownie he was eating trying to cover up the redness in his face away from the other.
“It hasn’t been that long, about....8 months?” Luhan scratched the back of his neck trying to recall the memory. “Even so, we have been doing quite well. Since we make everything from scratch, a lot of our customers enjoy the freshness of it.” He nodded his head quickly. He always got excited whenever he talked about his pride and joy.
“Well you are a celebrity, I’m not surprised you haven’t.A couple have visit us here though! Like you said, your company building is just down the street. Though, I must imagine you don’t have much of a life away from the cameras. Usually their assistants and managers come in for orders. Always have to be careful....” Nods his head slowly. His hand reaching out for his water bottle taking a sip. Leaves the cap off and continues to talk. “Seoul is so big too! There is so much to explore,  I still get lost sometimes!” Luhan tried to recall the first day he landed in the city, getting lost in the city and ending up at a bar. The wonderful first memories he had of the city.
Luhan jumped out of his seat the moment he felt cold liquid hit his clothes. His eyes widen in shock and it took him a couple of seconds for his mind to catch up. When it did, he saw Chanhee helping him dry his clothes. “O-Oh! Y-You don’t have to do that! It’s okay!” He laughed nervously, his hands instantly reaching for the hem of the shirt taking it off. “I have an extra shirt in the back, don’t worry.”

"Luhannie!" Chanhee called out to the other male when his eyes landed on him and brought a smile to his face. He held up a small bag, waving it around. "I made you some pasta for lunch!"
The brunette turned around hearing his name. He blinked in confusion before he spotted his other half in the cafe. Placing the small wash cloth down he walked over. “Aw! You didn’t have to do that.” A huge smile spread across his lips as he walked out from behind the counter and takes the bag. “Mmm it smells good! Thank you!”

Words were heard but they were going through one ear and out the other. He could only grasp onto a few words at a time. His Korean long gone the moment he runaway years ago. The brunette could only stare at the female ahead of him. He shook his head just wanting her to leave him alone. His hands reached for the counter ahead of him and stood up. The moment he did, the effects of the alcohol hit him hard. He stumbled over his feet but managed to catch himself. He sighed and stared at the female ahead of him. “Home...have to go back home..” he mumbled in Mandarin.

The man seemed inebriated beyond his control. He looked at her like she was a ghost and she noticed the little jerk and the haziness in his eyes. Her heart seemed to fall down to her chest, wondering what she had gotten herself into. It was a dark and cold evening in Seoul- her favorite kind- but it came with its own dangers. “Hey, look, I’m just trying to help. I mean-,” a part of her wanted to tell him to drink the whole bottle if she wanted, but bit back her childish tongue. “I’ll get you some water. My treat.” She was always told she just couldn’t mind her own business. It was clear that this was just another example of that.

This one of the reasons Luhan loved his profession, the smile each customer has trying a drink or one of his baked goods. It always made him feel like he was doing something right. He could recall when he began working at the cafe taking his time learning how to craft each beverage by hand and baking the cakes from scratch. When it was handed down to him, he couldn’t have been any more excited. The cafe was so close to his heart that even though he didn’t do exactly what he tended to do arriving in Korea, this was a good outcome- that’s what he always tries to tell himself. He achieved the quiet calm life he desired.
“I’m glad you like it!” A wide smile spread across his face but not without a slight blush as he received praise from the model he admired. He could just melt on the spot but that wasn’t allowed. He must maintain his calm and act cool- “I’m assuming then this is your first coming in here?” he asked with a soft laugh.
His eyes fell onto the brownie he brought with him and he picked a small piece off it, plopping it into his mouth. Once the model introduced themselves, he was squealing internally. The moment he was asked for his name the blush reappeared on his cheeks. “O-Oh! I don’t know about that but everyone calls me Luhan! It’s nice to meet you too. You could say I’m a worker here.” He laughed, “I’m actually the owner the cafe so think you for the praise on the cake I made.”

Luhan took the payment and charged the customer. Taking a quick peek at the card, he almost squealed at the sight of the name. He had been right, the model he long admired in magazines was standing a few feet from him. It wasn't the first time he had ran into a celebrity as his cafe was quite close to an agency. He has been his far share around but there something different with the model. The brunette had found him familiar but he never could pinpoint as to why that was.
"Alright! Coming right up!" The light brunette blushes slightly at the comment and smiled to himself. He turned around and went right to work on creating the drink. He took pride in his work as almost everything was created from fresh ingredients to hit just the perfect taste. Being complimented on his drinks was always the best part of the day. Luhan poured the tea into the cup and placed the lid right on top. Grabbing a straw, he walked right to the pick up counter placing the drink down. "Ready!"
He washed his hands and wiped them off with a paper towel. His eyes glanced at his watch and noticed it was already closing time. About to walk towards the front door, he stopped momentarily when he heard the model speak. Luhan laughed softly, "Sure, I don't mind. Just give me a minute". He finished his way towards the front door and flipped the sign to close. Walking back to the counter he grabbed a piece of brownie and a bottle of water. Slipping off his apron he hung up around the counter. "We can sit here?" Luhan asked as he walked towards a small table and sat down.
