If you could relive any of your memories, which would it be?

Hm. I guess that depends.

If it was just to relive something the exact same, or even for the first time again, I have a few. There are moments that I know I've forgotten (poor memory) that I would love to refresh - fun times with friends, carefree moments with my siblings from childhood, a handful of dates with my wife, time spent with my grandmother that I never got the chance to properly appreciate.

One of the memories I can remember that I would like to revisit is my trip to Norwalk Aquarium. My wife and I stopped by at the suggestion of a cousin of hers on our way back from visiting Boston (and its aquarium - yes, there is a theme to our marriage and it is that my wife loves me enough to show me fish all over the country). It was an amazingly wonderful place that I never would have heard of if her family hadn't suggested it. But the crown jewel of the visit was something she pointed out to me near the end of the visit.

You see, we had been to Monterey, Boston, Atlanta, Niagara - so many big name aquariums. None of them had cuttlefish, my favorite of cephalopods. Atlanta and Niagara just didn't have one, and both Boston and Monterey's were off exhibit. Our home aquarium didn't have one either. I was ready to head home having still never seen an IRL cuttlefish. Norwalk was supposed to have one, but the display was shut down and being replaced. Another deadend.

Until one of the last rooms. My wife joyously called me over to a teeny tiny tank and told me to look. Inside was not only a cuttlefish, but a flamboyant cuttlefish - my favorite or favorites! And to top it off, it was enjoying a shrimp snack. My wife was so proud to have spotted the tank I had walked right by only a few minutes ago, admittedly lost in a bit of "poor me" attitude. I stood there and watched the little friend eat almost their whole shrimp.

I felt so seen and loved. I never want to forget that moment of her calling me over, of how pleased with herself she looked as I gasped and tried not to scream out loud in a public place of excitement. I know I squeezed her hand very tightly, I tried to not squeeze too hard. She shows me she loves me in thousands of ways every day, but that one is always gonna be special to me.
