One of the hardest things to convince yourself
Validation should only be necessary as long as it comes from yourself.
I really don’t understand why I’m getting so paranoid. It’s nothing I really should seek validation or social affirmation from, but when you haven’t seen or spoken to these people who you’ve worked so hard to build such profound friendships with, it’s nearly impossible to fall into this inescapable anxiety. I really don’t get it and it’s really scary that I need some sort of approval or recognition from anyone other than myself no matter how many times I remind myself I don’t need them.

Do you ever want to talk to someone but
1) You feel like you’re bothering them or coming off clingy
2) You don’t have anything to say, you just want to talk to them
3) You don’t know how to hold a conversation to save your life

i remember one time M.I.A. was talking about singers like Lady Gaga, and she said something along the words of “what kind of journey is that? going from the upper east side to the performing arts school then to a museum or a stadium is such a short journey, is just about 4 miles” and that’s exactly why as an aspiring filmmaker, or simply as a young person working to succeed in any field i’m not impressed by the instant success of white rich people whose parents work in the arts or entertainment industry, that would be a disservice to where i come from, who i am and the journey i strive to achieve some day.

Okay.
"I'll be okay"
is probably the hardest thing to say
because of it just reminding you
how not okay you are now

A graduate student has created the first man-made biological leaf. It absorbs water and carbon dioxide to produce oxygen just like a plant. He did this by suspending chloroplasts in a mixture made out of silk protein. He believed it can be used for many things but the most striking one is the thought that it could be used for long distance space travel. Plants do not grow in space, but this synthetic material can be used to produce oxygen in a hostile environment. (Video)

She rested her head against his and felt, for the first time, what she would often feel with him: a self-affection. He made her like herself. With him, she was at ease; her skin felt as though it was her right size.
