I would really like to analyze the existing opinion that “Kat’s feelings for Eva aren’t in her character”

1. Kat has always fallen in love with strong women who have their own strongly marked opinion on almost every issue. Adena is muslim, lesbian and feminist. She doesn’t hide it and Kat admires her for that. Kat takes her as an example and gets into activism.

2. Tia is a political activist. She wants to make people’s lives in her town better, and again - Kat admires her and takes her as an example. She goes into politics and her feelings for Tia reinforce the desire to do something for people just like it was with Adena.

3. And finally, Eva. She has different views but she looks at every issue from different perspectives and draws her conclusions from that. She doesn’t impose her point of view on others, she only accepts it for herself. Eva calmly argues with opponents without getting personal. And it’s her power. And this power is what attracts Kat even though she disagrees with her.

In conclusion, Kat falls in love with strong women who are not afraid to speak and who have an active civil position. She learns from each of them.

And that’s why Kat’s feelings for Eva are in her character.

Honestly I believe the reason s2 was so successful & how we all still love it is because the characters from that season feel like actual people & not just pixels. You get to know them. Like Gary loving his nan & cranes. His issues with how he views himself & his personal body issues he struggles with. I love Lottie, you get to learn how insecure she actually is. If you’re BFFs with her she reveals why she left Australia & how she misses living there. Her whole transformation from forming cliques hiding behind ‘girl code’ to actually letting go & just being herself. Her speech to MC at prom is so cute! Chelsea with her ADHD & how much she loves her job as a interior decorator. As well as her love for those cliché quotes. If you do a Marisol route you get to help her discover herself. To just name a few. They really caught lightning in a bottle with that season.. They’ll never be able to get that magic again.
