Bite Your Tongue
Hi everyone! Here's a little “truth serum” drabble loosely based on season four (Pre-Silas and Caroline and Tyler did break up). Bonnie and Caroline experiment with a truth spell and Caroline gets stuck with the consequences. I’m still pretty new at this so please be kind. Enjoy!
.
.
Bonnie Bennett was at the very top of Caroline’s shit list today. Now she knew why vampires hated witches so much. Not that she truly hated her friend, but she certainly understood the sentiment. Ever since Bonnie started working with Professor Shane she had been practicing different kinds of magic that made Caroline more than a little uncomfortable. But never let it be said Caroline was unsupportive of her friends, so when Bonnie asked for a volunteer for a new spell, Caroline agreed and played guinea pig. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Caroline swore to herself that if she found a way out of this she would never get within spitting distance of magic ever again.
When Caroline got to Bonnie’s house she listened to her friend explain that this spell would be a game changer when it came to dealing with the Originals that were still taking up residence in their town.
“Trust me, Care. This could really work.” If Caroline had a dollar for every time she had been bitten in the ass for trusting her friends, she would be a very rich woman.
“Is it safe? I mean you aren’t going to like accidentally kill me or anything are you?” Caroline asked, nervousness evident in her voice.
“It’s completely safe, Care. I promise.”  Bonnie’s answering smile didn’t exactly put her at ease.
Overly trusting, stupid bitch would be on her gravestone. Before Caroline could actually agree to the spell, Bonnie started chanting. Caroline found herself unable to move and she tried to tell Bonnie to stop, but by the time she could get her friend’s name out of her mouth, the chanting stopped and the spell was complete. Bonnie looked at her like she was examining her under a microscope.
“Well?” Caroline prompted, eyebrows raised. “Did it work?”
“Who really broke my Barbie when we were six?” Bonnie asked.
“What? What does that have to do with any- me!” Caroline threw her hands over her mouth and looked at Bonnie in shock, eyes wide.
“I knew it! And yes, it worked. It’s a truth spell. The subject of the spell can’t lie. Don’t you see, Care? We could ask Klaus or Rebekah or even Kol anything and they have to answer! We could find out straight from them where the white oak stake is or if there’s another way to kill them. Shane thinks this spell could be valuable.” Delight danced in Bonnie’s eyes.
“Oh of course Professor Creepy thinks it’s a good idea. Are you freaking kidding me, Bonnie Bennett?! All of this for witchy compulsion?” Bonnie knew how she felt about her mind being messed with. “How do you know it would even work on them? And how you know they won’t kill us all as soon as they realize what the spell does?” She was fuming. She could feel rage seeping into her veins and she knew she needed to leave before she could no longer control herself.
“Relax, Care. I’ll break the spell right now. Right after one more question.” Caroline’s body prickled with suspicion and she saw something she didn’t recognize in her friend’s eyes. Professor Creepy has got to be brainwashing her.
“Bonnie I swear to God, do not ask me-”
“Do you have feelings for Klaus?” Bonnie asked pointedly. From the calculated expression on Bonnie’s face Caroline knew she had been planning to ask this very question from the beginning. She wondered if Shane put her up to it. Shane had an unhealthy obsession with the Originals. Caroline wouldn’t put it past him not to know about Klaus’s soft spot for her. Caroline bit her tongue until she tasted blood and glared at Bonnie. She hoped she conveyed just how betrayed and enraged she felt through her eyes. “Yes,” she bit out lowly. “Now undo the spell, Bonnie. Right fucking now.”
Bonnie closed her eyes and started chanting again. Caroline waited for something to happen, but the feeling she got when Bonnie did the spell the first time never came. Bonnie’s chanting grew louder for a few moments before she stopped.
“What are you doing?” Caroline questioned. “Why did you stop?”
“I-I can’t undo the spell. It’s not working. I-” Bonnie looked panicked that her magic wasn’t working.
“Figure it out, Bonnie!” Caroline yelled. “Look, figure out a counter spell and call me when you do. I need to leave,” Caroline spat out before storming out of Bonnie’s house, the door slamming behind her with a satisfying smack.
Caroline let out a frustrated growl and continued walking away from Bonnie’s house and into the nearby woods. She needed to take out her anger on something living, and since killing a human was out of the question, a deer would have to do. She let her monster out and flashed deeper into the woods to hunt. She couldn’t tell her friends, but using her gifts was exhilarating. She loved how powerful and dangerous she felt. Within minutes she hunted down a deer and sunk her fangs in.
When she finished feeding she straightened and wiped her mouth, catching any stray drops of blood. She took a grounding breath and turned back in the direction of Bonnie’s house, calmer than before and ready to help her find a solution to her situation. She barely took another step before she caught a familiar blur speeding toward her in the corner of her eye. Klaus stopped in front of her, smirking and handsome. Why today of all days? Caroline tipped her head back to look at the sky, not believing her bad luck.
“Hello, sweetheart. Out for an afternoon stroll? Although by the looks of it you’ve been hunting. Back on the animal diet then?” He tucked his hands into the pockets of his designer jeans and took a step closer, eyes bright and mischievous.
“Yes! I needed to let off some steam so I came to the woods to hunt so I wouldn’t hurt a human.” The words came out of Caroline’s mouth before she could even think about trying to stop them. She rolled her eyes and swore under her breath. “Look, Klaus you need to stay away from me today. I mean it!” She backed away from him as she spoke, eyes wide and looking for her easiest and quickest escape route. She knew she couldn’t outrun him, but she could certainly try to put some distance between them.
Klaus took a step toward her and put his hands out like he was trying to calm a scared animal. “Caroline, love. What’s—“
“No!” Caroline shouted and closed the space between them and pressed her fingers against Klaus’s lips, effectively cutting off his question. His eyebrows rose in question.
“Please don’t ask me any questions. Please.” Her eyes bore into his, silently begging him to comply. After a few more seconds she slowly removed her hand from his warm mouth. In the back of her mind she wondered what it would feel like against her own mouth instead. Bad, Caroline. She shook the thought from her head while Klaus looked at her in silent confusion. Great. Now he thinks you’re insane.
Klaus gripped her upper arms and peered down at her, worry clouding his features. “Love, tell me what’s wrong. I can help you.”
Caroline shook her head and looked away from him. His proximity and masculine, woodsy scent was overwhelming her already heightened senses. Klaus moved one of his hands to her jaw and turned her face back to his.
“Come now, Caroline. It can’t be that bad,” he reasoned. He continued to scan her features for any clues of what she wasn’t telling him. Caroline’s face heated under his gaze. He took another moment to look at her before his face turned hard, eyes sharp, and asked, “Alright what did your little friends do now? What is going on?”
She knew he probably thought her friends were engaging in another plot against him. She bit her lip until she drew blood. Klaus’s eyes were immediately drawn to the action. “Caroline, tell me. What is happening?” He rasped. Caroline could see lust building in his eyes as he watched her lick away a drop of blood from her bottom lip.
“Bonnie worked with Professor Shane to make a truth spell and she tested it on me. They want to use it on you and your family to get information about your weaknesses. She didn’t tell me what the spell was or what she wanted to do with it until after she cast it.” Desire evaporated from Klaus’s blue eyes and was replaced by rage and wolf gold. His grip on her arms tightened almost painfully before he let her go. He walked backward a few steps and ran a hand through his hair in exasperation.
“Are you insane?” He yelled. He ignored Caroline’s whispered, “no” before continuing. “You let a baby witch who doesn’t even understand her powers yet experiment on you! You don’t have any idea of the possible consequences of what you’ve done. For fuck’s sake, Caroline!” Caroline was surprised by his outburst. She knew he cared about her, but he seemed genuinely upset that she put herself in danger. He wasn’t even focusing on the plot against his family. “Children,” he muttered under his breath before asking, “Did the witch say how long the spell lasts?”
“We-we don’t really know. Bonnie tried to undo it after I freaked out, but she couldn’t do it.” Caroline bit her lip again, trying not to think about how hot Klaus looked when he was angry. Totally not the time!
Klaus looked her up and down, eyes dark, before approaching her once again. He raised his fingers to her face slowly and pulled her lip from her teeth. He brushed his thumb across her lips before trailing his hand down her jaw and neck. Caroline tried not to let herself be affected by his touch, but it was impossible. All of her nerves were on fire and the heat was spreading. She’d been fighting her feelings for Klaus for months and she couldn’t do it anymore. Klaus didn’t look in any better shape than she was. He was breathing harshly and staring at the porcelain skin he was touching. He met her eyes and spoke, voice deep, “Do you like this?”
“Yes,” she replied, moving impossibly closer to Klaus.
“Do you want me to touch you more?” Klaus looked like he was barely holding himself back from ravishing her right there in the woods.
“Yes. I want you to touch me.” She tilted her head to look up at him before surging up and pressing her lips to his. Yes. Klaus quickly took control of the kiss and deepened it, his tongue licking the seam of her mouth. Caroline gasped and he took advantage of the opening and brushed his tongue along hers. She always wondered what it would be like to be kissed by Klaus. After all, he had a thousand years of practice. He definitely did not disappoint. She knew she would be ruined after this. No one could ever compare to the feeling of his lips moving over hers. Caroline bunched the fabric of his dark gray Henley in her hands before running them up to his shoulders and into his dirty blonde curls. Klaus circled his arms around her waist and pulled her firmly into his body. Caroline tugged on the ends of his hair making Klaus growl in his chest. She felt her nipples tighten in response.
Klaus broke their kiss to trail his lips down to her neck. He took his time nipping and licking a spot over her pulse that Caroline didn’t even know existed. She threw her head back to give him better access and let out a breathy moan that sounded almost like his name. Before she could form a coherent thought, Klaus dropped his hands to her ass and pulled her up, encouraging her to wrap her legs around his waist. She wrapped her legs around him, the skirt of her yellow sundress bunching at her hips. He flashed them forward to a tree and pressed her against it, hands moving her waist. The bark scratched her back and sent a shiver down her spine. He returned his lips to hers and stole her breath away. Caroline dropped one hand from his hair to grip his necklaces and pull him even closer. Her other hand went to the back of his neck and she dug her nails in. He groaned loudly and his hips jerked into hers in response. She gasped into his mouth at the delicious friction and rolled her hips against his. Caroline was determined to give as good as she got so she pressed her breasts against his chest and bit his full bottom lip before soothing the sting by sucking on his tongue. The growls and moans he let out traveled straight to her core. Klaus pulled the straps of her dress down her shoulders harshly and peeled the cups of her bra down to squeeze her breasts and roll her nipples between his fingers. Caroline moaned loudly and she could feel herself becoming impossibly wetter. Klaus broke their kiss and pulled back slightly to meet her eyes. His pupils were blown and ringed with gold.
“Klaus,” Caroline whined, trying to pull his lips back to hers. Klaus smirked devilishly at her before moving his lips to her ear.
“Do you want me, Caroline?” The way he said her name was downright sinful. “Do you want me to have you right here in the forest?” His lips brushed against her ear one last time before he bit her earlobe, making her cry out. His eyes met hers again as he waited for her answer.
“Yes. I want you right here.” Caroline eyes were glazed over with lust and she didn’t care that anyone could see them out in the open. She tried to lean in to kiss him, but he held her back. Klaus chucked lowly at the look of frustration on her face.
“What do you want, love?” He was teasing her, playing with her inability to lie to him. Under normal circumstances Caroline would be seriously pissed, but she couldn’t summon any feelings other than desire and lust in that moment. For some reason she found the power he had over her extremely hot. He could ask her anything he wanted and she had to tell the truth.
“I want you to fuck me and make me come against this tree.” Caroline wasn’t typically this vocal during her romantic encounters, but she couldn’t help it. Even without the spell Klaus probably could have gotten her to make the same confession. Klaus smiled wolfishly at her before rolling his hips into hers, making her throw her head back and moan. She inwardly cursed her panties and his jeans. He’d been hard for her since the second she kissed him and right now she needed that hardness against her, inside her.
“When I have you, love, I want to take my time. I want to spread you out on my sheets and worship you until you can’t remember anything but my name. I want to spend hours between your thighs and brand myself along your body. I want to make you scream until your voice is hoarse and your body is so sated that your vampirism can’t help you. I want to fuck your tight little body right here and make you call my name to the skies, but the first time will be in my bed where I can ruin you for anyone else. I’ll make you so desperate for me that you won’t be able to even think of anything but my cock and tongue in you. But I’ll not deny you the orgasm your body is craving right now.” Klaus’s voice became deeper and his accent got thicker as he spoke. Caroline thought she might combust just from his words.
Klaus moved back from her just enough to get his hand between them. He ran his fingers over her soaking panties before moving them aside and slipping his fingers into her wetness. “Fuck, love. You’re so wet for me,” he growled. He brushed her clit once with his thumb and sunk two fingers inside her core, making Caroline cry out and moan his name. Klaus hoisted her up higher on the tree and began working his fingers inside her before taking her pink nipple into his mouth and laving it with his tongue. Caroline had never felt anything like this before. By no stretch of the imagination was she a blushing virgin, but none of her other lovers had left her as wet and desperate for touch as Klaus. She clenched her thighs tighter around Klaus as she rode his fingers.
“Klaus,” she bit out. Klaus released her nipple and began sucking and biting her neck with blunt teeth. “Tell me what you want, love, and I’ll give it you. Just give me the words.”
“Rub my clit and make me come. Please.” She begged. Klaus doubled down his efforts and put his thumb back on her clit before adding a third finger to her tight pussy. Caroline let out a strangled moan and moved her hips faster against his hand.
“That’s it sweetheart, give it to me. Ride my fingers. Come for me.” As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Caroline exploded around his fingers with a high-pitched moan and saw stars behind her eyelids. She lost track of time while she was coming. When she finally came down she met Klaus’s gaze and he looked like she was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. Her chest was heaving and his eyes dropped to watch her breasts move up and down.
“So beautiful,” he whispered. He removed his hand from her and brought his fingers to his mouth to lick away the evidence of her need for him. Caroline thought she might come again from the sight of him licking her off his fingers. She was about to try and persuade him to forgo his original plan of a bed and fuck her in the woods when he dropped her legs from his waist and righted her bra and the straps of her dress. The tree at her back was the only thing keeping her upright. Klaus pressed a gentle kiss against her lips before pulling back with a grin. He looked as wrecked as she did. She could still make out the hard line of his cock under his jeans and she sincerely hoped he wouldn’t make her wait once they got to his bed.
“Alright, love. Come with me. There’s a witch in Charlotte that owes me a favor. I’ll have her meet us at my place. She’ll be able to remove the spell.” Klaus grasped Caroline’s hand in his and began pulling her in the direction of his house. Caroline’s body finally caught up and started moving.
“But Charlotte is hours away,” She said, a smirk forming on her lips.
“I guess we’ll have to find a way to entertain ourselves in the meantime.” He looked at her over his shoulder and threw a wink at her before flashing off with her through the trees.

4x9 AU Part 3
Here’s the third and final part of my 4x9 AU. This takes place immediately after the end of the second part. Caroline has just confronted Klaus after she found out that he killed Carol. This part features only Klaus and Caroline (just how we all like it). If you’ve been following along, thank you. These three drabbles were my very first time writing anything and I’ve had so much fun.
Part 1 is here and Part 2 is here
4x9 AU part 3
Their moment of peace was broken when Caroline saw Klaus fighting internally with himself. He looked like he was trying to decide whether or not to speak. She knew whatever he had to say would pop the perfect bubble they had been in for the past few minutes. He parted his lips to speak and tightened his grip on Caroline’s arm and face, afraid she might run from him.
He licked his lips, sending a jolt through her body, and spoke, “How did you find out about Lockwood’s mother?” His voice was even and soft, like he was trying to calm a scared animal. Caroline thought about lying, but knew he would see right through her.
“Tyler told me this morning.” She whispered. She knew the gravity of what she’d just done. She told Klaus that the boy he wanted to kill, the boy she was supposed to love was just a few miles away. The guilt of her admission weighed heavily on her shoulders. She turned her head to the side so she wouldn’t see the look of murderous intent she thought she would find on Klaus’s face, but it never came. Klaus turned her face back to face him and brushed his thumb over her lips like he was trying to touch all that he could before the spell they had both been under was inevitably broken.
“Please don’t kill him.” Caroline pleaded with tears forming in her eyes.
“You can’t save him, love.” Klaus wiped a tear that had slipped out of Caroline’s eye so softly that she thought she might start sobbing. How could he be so gentle with her and want to kill Tyler at the same time? There were so many sides to Klaus that Caroline had only just begun to learn.
Caroline was going to ask a second time for Tyler’s life to be spared when Klaus continued speaking. “I thought he would have had the good sense to run and be following the wolf girl across state lines by now. Those two seemed quite enamored with one another last I saw them together. I stumbled upon them in the mutt’s garden after your pageant. I would have been surprised when she sold him and his pack out to me last night had I not lived as long as I have.”
“You knew they were together?” Caroline asked in a small voice, her eyebrows furrowing. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
Klaus knew that Tyler really had been cheating on her, that she still thought their display just a few weeks ago had been a ruse, and that she really had no idea Hayley and Tyler weren’t acting. He had hinted at it before their fake breakup, but she didn’t want to look too closely at her boyfriend and they way he looked a little too comfortable in Hayley’s presence at the time.
“Would you have believed me?” Klaus asked with hesitation and what Caroline thought might be vulnerability in his voice.
“Maybe,” she admitted softly, looking up at him. “I think you’re the only person in this whole town that’s never lied to me,” she added before she could stop herself. Her own honestly shocked her. Klaus, the big bad hybrid, had been more of a friend to her than anyone else in Caroline’s life. Klaus started to pull back from her and Caroline moved her hands to his chest, bunching the fabric of his shirt between her fingers.
“Please stay here. With me.” She whispered so quietly that Klaus would not have heard had he not had hybrid hearing.
Klaus moved even closer until his lips were hovering over hers. One hand was still cradling her face and the other had dropped to the curve of her waist. Caroline’s heart was pounding loudly in her chest and she couldn’t look away from his deep blue eyes. He was close enough that she could smell his body wash, the scent washing over her. His nose brushed hers lightly and her gaze fell to his mouth. Before she could talk herself out of it and move away Caroline surged up on her toes and pressed her lips firmly against his. Klaus was frozen in shock for a few seconds at the feeling of Caroline’s petal soft lips against his before he responded. He moved the hand on her waist to her hair and gripped her soft locks between in fingers. His hold on her was desperate, like he thought she might slip away at any moment. Caroline let out a quiet, involuntary moan at the feeling of Klaus’s lips moving over hers. Klaus took the opportunity to let his tongue enter her mouth and slide along hers. Caroline moved her hands to cradle Klaus’s face and pulled him impossibly closer to her. Their chests touched and Caroline gasped. She felt like her entire body had been electrified by his touch. Somewhere in the back of mind she knew she shouldn’t be doing this, that Klaus was the bad guy, but she couldn’t find it in herself to care when the way his body was pressed up against hers felt so right. Caroline didn’t know why she hadn’t started kissing Klaus sooner if this is what it felt like. He tasted like expensive whiskey and something so uniquely him. Their kisses turned more passionate and Caroline found herself being pressed even further into the wall behind her. Caroline dropped her hands to Klaus’s shoulders and then wound her arms around his neck. Klaus moved the hand in her hair back to her waist and squeezed tightly before trailing his lips from her mouth to her neck and placing bruising kisses on the skin he found there. He ran his tongue along her pulse and bit lightly with his blunt teeth. He soothed the spot with an open mouthed kiss.
“Klaus.” Caroline moaned. She felt like she might pass out from the feeling of Klaus’s lips and tongue on her neck. Klaus moved his lips to her collarbone and began to taste her, determined to hear her say his name again. Caroline tugged his head back up to hers by his hair and covered his lips with hers once again. Kissing Klaus was addictive and Caroline hadn’t had enough yet. Caroline bit his full bottom lip and he shuddered, a low groan coming from the back of his throat. One of his hands slipped down to her neck, holding her in place, while the other slowly made its way down from her shoulder to her breast. Klaus squeezed her through the fabric of her light sweater, making Caroline press herself eagerly into his hands and release a breathy moan. Klaus ran his thumb over her nipple through her bra before letting his hand continue downward until he met her hip and squeezed. His other arm banded around her lower back and pressed every part of their bodies together. The feeling of Klaus’s body on hers was making Caroline completely forget why she was here in the first place. She knew her cheeks were flushed and her panties were growing damp. Determined to give as good as she got, Caroline pushed Klaus back slightly and ran her nails down the sides of his neck and down his chest and stomach, stopping just above the waistband of his dark jeans. The feeling of her nails made him groan and push his tongue past her lips with renewed fervor. Caroline tugged Klaus closer to her by his belt and spread her legs slightly. Klaus took the hint and moved his hands to her thighs and lifted her so she could curl her toned legs around him. Caroline’s arms moved to wrap around Klaus’s neck and she moaned loudly at the feeling of his need for her pressing into her inner thigh, so close to where she wanted him. She inwardly cursed the jeans they were both wearing.
Their heavy breathing filled up Klaus’s foyer as they continues kissing and running their hands all over each other. Caroline shifted slightly and rolled her hips into Klaus’s erection, the zipper of his jeans rubbing pleasurably against her clit. The action made them both moan. She threw her head back to catch her breath and Klaus began peppering her neck with kisses and licks. He grabbed her ass and pressed his cock that was straining against his jeans back into her denim covered center.
“Kla-aus!” Caroline’s cry broke in the middle. She had never felt the kind of desire that was coursing through her body before. Caroline circled her hips as best as she could in her position to chase the delicious friction that Klaus was creating against her.
Klaus lifted his head from Caroline’s neck and rested his forehead against hers. His eyes were full of lust.
“I want you, Caroline.” He ground out, arousal evident in his tone. “I’ve wanted you for so long.”
Caroline didn’t think she had ever heard anything sound as sexy as Klaus saying her name in that moment. The way his tongue curled around the syllables in it sent a shiver down her spine.
“Then have me.” She uttered, voice breathy and full of want, before she could think of all of the reasons why she and Klaus shouldn’t be doing this.
Klaus bit back a groan at her words and licked into her hot mouth once more. His hands pushed under her sweater with purpose and moved up to her ribs until his fingers skimmed the line of her bra. His hands felt so good on her feverish skin. Klaus pushed his thumbs under her bra just enough to touch the undersides of her breasts. Caroline felt like she was overheating and would explode at any second. She didn’t know sex could feel like this and they hadn’t even gotten that far yet. Klaus pulled back from her lips, staying close, and looked her in the eye. His lips were kiss-bruised, pupils blown and rimmed with gold, his hair was a mess from where Caroline ran her hands through it. He looked wrecked. For her, she thought, and that gave her so much satisfaction. The influence she had over Klaus had always made her feel powerful and sexy, not that she would admit that to a single soul.
“Are you sure, love?” Klaus asked, voice deep and gravelly. He was barely holding on and Caroline knew that he might not be able to control himself if they went much further.
“Yes. I’m sure. I want you, Klaus.” Caroline panted out, putting them both out of their misery. A part of her thought that maybe she was giving in too easily, but she just couldn’t help herself. As terrible of a person as it made her, she wanted him. All of him.
If she thought that Klaus would take her answer as a green light to rip her clothes off, then she was wrong. He pulled back even more from her and his gaze turned hard and suspicious. Caroline could barely keep up with his sudden mood swing. He removed his hands from under her sweater and put her back down on the floor before taking a step back from her. Caroline’s face fell and she felt the sharp sting of his rejection. Her mind instantly told her that yet again she was not enough and she never would be.
“Klaus? What’s wrong?” Confusion and insecurity filled her voice. Never in a million years did Caroline think that Klaus would be the one to pump the brakes on sex between them. She had felt his want for her, she had seen it in his eyes. Did he suddenly realize she wasn’t worth it?
“How do I know that your friends didn’t send you here to distract me?” Klaus spat at her.
“Kla-“ Caroline began.
“How do I know that you aren’t desperate enough to fuck a monster in exchange for your pathetic boyfriend’s life?” He interrupted crudely.
“What? No! That’s not what this-“ Klaus still would not let her speak.
“You’ve taken part in every plot against me and I have no reason to trust you!” Klaus’s wolf was pressed up against his skin and his eyes were flashing between gold and blue. Caroline could tell he was trying to control himself and avoid fully lashing out at her. Maybe he did want her. Maybe he wanted her too much and was afraid he was being tricked again. After all, what he just said was true. Caroline’s heart fell when she realized this.
“Klaus, I swear I’m being honest with you. I’m here because I want to be, not because I’m trying to distract you or bribe you with sex. I’m not in love with Tyler anymore. I just don’t want to see him dead. Please believe me. Please don’t kill him.” Tears were now running down her cheeks. Caroline realized that she really didn’t love Tyler. She had been holding on to him out of obligation for most of their relationship, but now she was doing what her heart wanted. Her feelings for Klaus scared the hell out of her, but she couldn’t deny herself any longer. She couldn’t ignore the way she felt when she was with him. She had to see where this could go and right now she wanted things to go upstairs or at least to the nearest sofa.
“Why? He betrayed me. He betrayed you, love. He had the sun right in front of him and threw it away. And then he turned all of my hybrids against me.” Klaus gritted out. He was still fighting to control his wolf.
Caroline rolled her eyes at the last part and stepped forward until she was right in front of him. She was pretty certain that none of this would have happened if the were-slut hadn’t talked Tyler into it, but that was a conversation for another time.
“Yes! He cheated on me and he tried to kill you, but you killed the other hybrids and his mother! You’re even!” She shouted in his face, chest heaving. She wasn’t asking him to like Tyler or even forgive him. She just wanted him to spare him for her. She just wanted to be able to continue to get to know Klaus without the shadow of Tyler’s impending death hanging over them. If Klaus would just get out of his own way they could move forward, together.
They stared heatedly at each for a long time before Klaus let out the breath he had been holding, looked up at the ceiling, and spoke. “Tell him to leave town tonight and run. I’ll give him a head start. If I see him again after that, he’s dead.” He looked back at Caroline, eyes sharp and desperate for her approval. The suspicion was gone from his gaze. Caroline knew what this compromise had cost him. He chose her over revenge. He chose her. She gave him a small smile.
“Thank you.” She said, leaning in to press a soft kiss to his cheek. “I need to go tell him now and officially end things. I don’t want anything standing between us.” She added before turning to walk to the door. As much as Caroline wanted to resume the foreplay that would lead to the hot hybrid sex they were about to have, she knew that this was the right thing to do.
Klaus grabbed her hand and spun her back toward him. “I’m not a good man, Caroline. I don’t think after a thousand years of darkness that I could even try to be. I know who I am, what I’ve done and what I will do. I’m not good,” he repeated, “But I will be good to you. Can you accept that?” He was still clutching her hand like his life depended on it. His eyes bored into her own and she could see that he was being genuine.
Caroline gave him a small smile and leaned in closer to him, bring her other hand up to hold on to his shoulder. “I’m not asking you to be perfect. I know who you are, Klaus. I’m just asking you not to hurt me or my friends. If you can do that for me, then I can accept you. Every part of you.”
Klaus brought her hand up to his lips and placed a searing kiss on her knuckles before speaking. “I won’t hurt your friends unless they move against either of us.” He said lowly. Caroline nodded at his condition and smiled brightly at him. She placed a heated kiss on his lips and then slowly pulled herself out of his grip and walked back to his front door before he could reciprocate.
“Caroline?” Klaus called after her as her hand touched the doorknob. She turned to look back at him over her shoulder, raising an eyebrow.
“I would very much like a chance to take you on a real date. One away from Mystic Falls and your friends.” His voice gave away his vulnerability. His hand were in his pockets and he looked nervous.
“Pick me up tomorrow at 7. No flowers and nothing that involves leaving the country.” She responded and flashed him a smile.
He smiled back at her, dimples on display. “As you wish, sweetheart.”
Caroline couldn’t help the butterflies that erupted in her stomach at the sight of his devastatingly handsome smile. She playfully rolled her eyes at him, lips still turned up in a smile, and turned back to walk out of the door. Caroline had no idea how she and Klaus were going to work, but she was excited to try. She shook her head at herself and unlocked her car. She had a cheating boyfriend to officially break up with and force out of town. As she drove out of Klaus’s driveway she also wondered what the hell she was going to tell her friends.

Untitled 4x9 AU part 2
The plot bunny in my mind isn’t quiet finished yet. Here’s the second part to my very first piece Untitled 4x9 AU (I’m terrible at coming up with titles). This one has more angst than the last, but I will be making up for it with a third and final part coming soon. Thanks for reading!
Part 1 is here
Caroline was surprised to see a police car in Tyler’s driveway when she arrived early that morning. After spending a sleepless night battling her conflicting emotions about the night before she decided to check on Tyler before she made her way back to the cellar. She assumed he had already run from Mystic Falls after his plan to take down Klaus had failed, but she hadn’t heard anything from him since before Hayley snapped her neck in the Grille. She parked her car and got out just as the front door to the Lockwood manor opened to reveal two of her mother’s deputies leaving the house with grim expressions on their faces.
“Officer Sanders?” Caroline questioned one of them, “what’s going on?” She couldn’t help the nervousness seeping through her tone. Last night’s massacre must have already been discovered. She wondered how the Sheriff’s department was going to cover this one up. A few “animal attacks” were one thing, but 12 dead and dismembered hybrids on the Mayor’s lawn were another.
“I’m sorry, Caroline. This will be public by tomorrow, but I can’t discuss an active investigation. Tyler is inside. He can tell you.” Officer Sanders and the other deputy walked passed her and made their way to their car.
Caroline was surprised that Tyler was still in Mystic Falls. She walked through the door to the manor, worry clouding her mind. If Klaus found out Tyler was still in town there would be nothing stopping him from coming over here and killing him. She heard the sound of a sigh, Tyler’s, coming from the sitting room. As she walked down the main hall and turned to enter the room she smelled liquor and tears. She could feel the heavy feeling of grief all around her. She found Tyler sitting on a sofa with his head in one hand and a tumbler of what looked like scotch in the other.
“Tyler?” She questioned as she moved towards him. He looked wrecked. His eyes were bloodshot. His shoulders slumped. Caroline vaguely wondered if Carol was home. She made her distaste at seeing her son drink while he was technically still underage clear.
“Tyler?” She tried again. Finally he looked up at her. The broken look on his face gnawed at her heart.
“Care...” he tried to continue but a pained sob left his lips instead. Caroline flashed forward and stopped just a few inches from him.
“Tyler I’m so sorry. I tried to stop him, but I was too late. They were dead by the time I got there. I’m so so sorry.” Caroline finally felt the grief she had been putting off for the 12 hybrids. The reality of what Klaus had done was setting in. Tears threatened to spill over. For Tyler and his friends and for the friendship that had been tentatively building between her and Klaus. There’s no way she could feel anything for the man that slaughtered his own pack so willingly she thought to herself. A lie, her mind told her, but now was not the time to dwell on that.
“What are you- you don’t know, do you?” Tyler’s voice interrupted her thoughts and brought her back to the present.
“Don’t know what?” Caroline questioned. Dread suddenly filled her.
“After Klaus murdered the others he came here and he...” Tyler trailed off and a look a pure rage took over his features.
“What did he do, Tyler?” She asked afraid of the answer.
“He killed her!” Tyler shouted, standing suddenly making Caroline stumble a few steps backward. “He killed my mom to get back at me. That sick fucker came here and drowned her in the fountain.” He swallowed the remainder of his drink, the crystal tumbler still clutched in his hand.
Tyler was seething. He never had great control over the beast inside him and it was evident in the way his wolf pressed against his skin now. His eyes were gold and veins trailed from his eyes down to his cheek bones.
“What?” Any color that Caroline had in her pale features left her suddenly. She felt as though her knees would not continue to support her.
“HE KILLED HER!” Tyler screamed. The glass in his hand was suddenly shattering into pieces against the wall behind Caroline.
“I’m so sorry, Tyler. I had no idea. I tried to stop it, but Hayley got to me before I could. That bitch snapped my neck. I told you this whole thing was a bad idea. I’m so s-“ Caroline started but Tyler interrupted her before she could finish.
“Seriously, Care? You told me so? My mother and my pack are fucking dead and that’s your response?” Tyler took a step towards Caroline, his eyes still golden and enraged.
“That’s n-not what I m-meant,” Caroline stammered. “I’m so sorry, Tyler. That’s not what I meant.” Her foot was firmly in her mouth. Her tendency to say the wrong thing reared it’s ugly head.
Tears spilled down her cheeks now. She reached for Tyler to wrap him in a hug, but he stepped away from her. Caroline felt the sting of rejection.
“You should leave. I have things to handle with the police and my mother’s,” Tyler cleared his throat, “my lawyers.” His wolf receded from his face and he now looked like it was taking all of his strength just to remain standing.
“Tyler, you shouldn’t be alone. Why didn’t you call me last night? I’m here for you. Let me help,” Caroline pleaded. She stayed where she was even though all she wanted to do was wrap Tyler in her arms and comfort him. Even though their relationship had been slowly falling apart in the past few weeks, or months if she was being honest, she still cared for the boy in front of her. The boy who was now an orphan.
“Just go, Caroline. I don’t need you. I need to find Hay-.” He stopped talking and his jaw clicked shut. He looked like hadn’t meant to mention the girl that betrayed him and his friends, who had snapped his supposed girlfriend’s neck.
“Hayley? You need to find Hayley?” Caroline’s voice became louder and full of anger. “That backstabbing bitch sold you and your pack out to Klaus. I found out last night right before she snapped my neck and left me on the floor of the bathroom in the Grille. I was trying to stop her and save you all, Tyler. Klaus wouldn’t have had an advantage had she not run to him and told him the whole plan. Maybe he wouldn’t have killed them if we tired to reason with him. He probably felt cornered so he lashed out.” Caroline knew mentioning Klaus right now was a terrible idea, but Tyler had to realize that Hayley betrayed him.
“So now you’re defending Klaus?” Tyler’s anger returned in full force. “That’s really nice, Caroline. You’re defending the bastard that killed my pack and my mother not even a full day ago.” Tyler’s eyes started to bleed gold.
“I’m not defending him! Hayley betrayed you. This whole mess is her fault! I saw Klaus last night and-“ She wasn’t able to finish her sentence before Tyler flashed in front of her, his face just inches from hers.
“You saw him last night?” His voice was quiet and accusatory. Caroline could feel his anger radiating from his body.
“Yes. I was looking for you,” she began evenly, hoping to calm him down. “I was worried about you. I found him out in the cellar. We only talked for a couple of minutes and then he left.”
“Let me guess, you batted your eyes and he let you go,” Tyler sneered. “Typical Caroline, flirting with monsters to make herself feel better.” The look he was giving her was one of pure disgust.
“No! I mean yes, he left without hurting me, but I didn’t bat anything at him, Tyler, and I certainly didn’t flirt with him!” Caroline was becoming annoyed. Tyler was grieving, but that wasn’t an excuse to speak to her that way.
Tyler and Caroline were silent for several long moments. Their annoyance with each other hung between them. Caroline’s thoughts drifted to Klaus without her permission. He had let her go last night. He could have killed her in a second with no effort and he had let her live. He had been so gentle when he pressed his lips to her mouth and cheek, like he was scared she might break. It was hard for Caroline to reconcile the broken man last night with the man who murdered Tyler’s mother just minutes after nearly kissing her. Klaus was a monster, yes, but weren’t they all? Hadn’t they all killed to protect themselves or their loved ones? Hell, hadn’t they all killed for no reason at all other than they lost control? How many times did Tyler expect he could provoke Klaus before he lashed out?
“Tyler...” Caroline didn’t know what to say to him. She wiped her tears from her face with the back of her hand and took a breath to ground herself.
“Go, Caroline. Just go. Please.” Tyler looked like he was going break down. Caroline had barely taken a half step toward him when his eyes flashed yellow and his fangs emerged from his gums.
“GO!” He shouted.
Caroline knew in that moment that they were over. He would rather look for the bitch that had sold out his pack and almost gotten him killed instead of be in the same room as her. She knew it was selfish to think this way when his grief was still fresh, but she didn’t care. Her fear that he had been cheating on her didn’t seem so far fetched after all. Their show at the pageant just a short while ago didn’t seem so much like a ruse now. Tyler clearly had feelings for Hayley if he still wanted to find her after all of this. She met his eyes and tried to convey something, anything to make him see she wasn’t the bad guy here. His glare was still full of rage so she turned and flashed out of the house.
Once she was in her car Caroline felt anger rush through her. How dare Tyler choose the girl that betrayed him and his friends over her? How dare he accuse her of flirting with Klaus? How dare he dismiss her? Caroline needed an outlet for her anger. She knew she would get nowhere with Tyler today so her mind settled on Klaus. How dare Klaus make her care for him despite everything that he is and then murder his hybrids? How dare he give her jewelry and romantic drawings and then drown Tyler’s mother? Caroline’s anger quickly turned to rage and she sped out of Tyler’s driveway toward the Mikaelson mansion.
Her car was barely in park before she whipped open her door and stalked up to Klaus’s front door, her blonde curls bouncing with each step.
“Klaus!” She shouted while banging her fist on the door. After a minute with no answer she banged louder. “Come out here you unbelievable bastard!” She was about to start yelling louder when the door was suddenly ripped open and an enraged looking Klaus stood in the doorway, eyes flashing gold. The sleeves of his dark gray henley were pushed up to his elbows and Caroline could see small flecks of paint on his hands. Klaus opened his mouth to growl something at her, but Caroline beat him to it.
“How could you? How could you be such a monster?” She shouted, her hands shaking with rage, as she took a step up towards him.
Klaus’s eyes narrowed and he stepped out of the doorway to meet her on the top step of his porch.
“How could I?” He gritted out between clenched teeth. “How could I kill the mutts that Lockwood and his little friend unsired and turned against me? HOW COULD I?” He raised his voice louder until he was shouting at Caroline.
Caroline opened her mouth to speak again, but this time Klaus interrupted her.
“Or are you talking about his mother? She was a fighter you know. She fought until her very last second, desperate for air.” He taunted with a wicked smirk on his lips, eyes sharp. Caroline gasped, shocked at the way he spoke so casually about killing Carol.
“He took EVERYTHING from me,” Klaus spat. “It’s only fair I finally take something from him. You lot have been trying to kill me since I returned to this infernal town and now you’re shocked that I exacted my revenge. You called me a monster, love. This is what monsters do.”
“Carol was innocent! She didn’t deserve to be a part of your twisted game! God, I don’t know why I ever gave you even a second of my time. You’re clearly not worth it!” Caroline shouted back at him. Had she been in a more rational state of mind she would have been almost afraid to shout at the man who just murdered 13 people, but her heightened emotions clouded her judgement.
Klaus’s features turned darker and before Caroline could blink he pulled her across the threshold by her upper arms and slammed her against the wall of his lavish foyer, the plaster cracking around her. The breath left Caroline’s lungs and her eyes widened as she took in his golden eyes and double fangs. She realized how stupid she had been to come here and pick a fight with Klaus. She let out a pained cry as she felt her ribs and spine protest. She was pretty sure something was fractured at the very least. Klaus grip loosened infinitesimally until he saw tears form in her blue eyes, threatening to spill over her cheeks.
Klaus removed his hands from Caroline’s arms and took several steps back from her. Something that looked almost like regret for his rough treatment of her flashed across his face. Caroline slid slightly down the wall before she locked her knees and caught herself. There was no way she was going to give Klaus the satisfaction of seeing her fall.
A moment passed and Klaus slowly moved forward with a grace that only came with age until he was close enough to touch her. He slowly lifted his hands so he didn’t frighten her and once more gripped her upper arms. Instead of bruising his touch was soft yet firm. He helped Caroline to stand up straight and held her there while her bones fused themselves back together. A single tear escaped and made its way down her face. Before it could reach her jaw Klaus moved one hand to cradle the side her face and brushed the tear away with his thumb. Caroline moved her free arm and grasped Klaus’s wrist with hesitant fingers. She hadn’t meant to touch him, but her body acted on its own accord. She could feel his slow pulse and his warm skin beneath her fingers. She could smell the blood running through his veins. The two of them stood there unmoving and staring at each other for several long minutes. Regret clouded Klaus’s face. Caroline wondered how many times in his long life he’d ever been sorry for anything he’d done.
“Not many,” Klaus answered softly, “but I find myself making exceptions for you, Caroline.”
Caroline realized she’d spoken out loud and blushed slightly. Klaus moved his thumb over the light pink on her cheek, looking as though he was fascinated by the color. She knew she shouldn’t be so comfortable in Klaus’s embrace, especially after she had seen Tyler’s grief stricken face earlier. She shouldn’t be so comfortable with a murderer’s touch, but she couldn’t bring herself to move. Something in Klaus’s touch ignited something in her that she had never felt before. A feeling of completeness. A feeling that someone truly cared for her. A feeling that she was finally enough.

Hi everyone! This is the first thing I’ve literally ever written so please be kind. This is just a little something based on 4x9 (O Come, All Ye Faithful) that’s been rolling around in my head for a while.
Untitled 4x9 AU
Caroline ran as fast as her feet would carry her. Since waking up on the bathroom floor of the Grille just a few minutes earlier the only thoughts running through her mind were, “Find Klaus and the hybrids, save Tyler, save Klaus.” The latter should have given her pause, but she was too preoccupied to think about her budding feelings for the Original Hybrid.
She skidded to a halt a few yards from the Lockwood cellar. She crept forward step by step hoping she wasn’t too late. Her mission to stop Tyler’s plan and Klaus’s inevitable revenge had delayed her senses. When her heightened senses finally caught up to the present she realized she was walking through a massacre. Blood and bodies covered the ground. She looked down and realized she was standing next to a dismembered arm, the bone and sinew visible in the moonlight. Tyler entered her thoughts and she was glad she didn’t see his body or smell his blood among the carnage. Caroline knew she should have had the good sense to turn around and leave, but her body felt like it was being pulled on a string to the open door of the cellar.
She took a deep breath and began her descent down the stairs. What she saw when she reached the bottom of the stairs took her breath away. The scene outside had been gruesome, but this was something out of a horror film. Rivers of blood flowed on the floor. Organs, heads and other body parts littered her view as well. Her eyes roved over the massacre, looking for Tyler, until they met a pair of scuffed black boots. In the center of the small cellar stood Klaus with a sword held loosely in his hand. Unmoving and covered head to toe in blood. Caroline’s eyes rose from his boots to his face. His expression was blank as he stared past her, like he hadn’t noticed she was there. Caroline almost hoped he hadn’t and was about to take a step backwards when he his eyes met hers.
“I gave them everything,” he whispered, “and they betrayed me.” His eyes glistened with unshed tears in the low light.
“You killed them...” Caroline uttered quietly, still in shock of the carnage around her.
“I gave them everything,” Klaus repeated. His gaze turned to the side to look at the body at his feet. “I saved them from the torment of the moon. All I wanted was their loyalty. To have people who knew what it was like to be different.”
“Klaus...” Caroline began, her voice small. She knew that she should choose her words carefully, but she had to know what happened to Tyler. She hoped he was safe. She also hoped he was already running. Nothing she could say or do would save him from Klaus. His plan had failed as she knew it would and now he would pay the consequences.
Caroline was almost disappointed that she didn’t see Hayley among the dead. After all, this whole plan was her idea. There was no love lost between her and the girl that left her temporarily dead on the dirty floor of a public restroom. Tyler couldn’t see past his feelings for the girl who he insisted was “just a friend” to realize that he’d been played. Subconsciously she knew that she and Tyler were over. They’d been over since he’d come back to town with Hayley trailing behind him with a smirk on her face.
“Klaus,” she tried again, but before she could continue Klaus’s stare found her again and turned venomous.
“Did you know?” He spat already knowing the answer. He was still wearing his suit from earlier in the evening and Caroline couldn’t help but think about their banter and shared smiles at the party, knowing he now knew she had played the part of the little blonde distraction once again.
Caroline opened and closed her mouth, searching for the the right words.
“DID YOU KNOW?” He roared at her, his grip tightening on the sword he held.
Caroline flinched at his sudden yell and took a step back from him. She knew lying would be useless and just enrage him further. She didn’t think Klaus would hurt her when he was in his right mind, but she had never seen him so unhinged.
“Y-yes,” she stuttered but continued as quickly as she could before Klaus lashed out again, “I knew, but I swear I was going to tell you and stop Tyler, but that were-slut Hayley caught me off guard and snapped my neck. I promise I didn’t want any of this to happen.” She realized she was shaking as she finished speaking, nervous of his reaction.
Klaus took a few steps forward into her space, his gaze still hard. “You didn’t want this to happen? Why? To save me or your precious Tyler?”
Caroline straightened her spine and looked Klaus in the eye. If he was going to kill her, no pretty words would save her. “Does it matter?” She snapped.
Klaus’s eyes narrowed. Caroline sighed and spoke again, “I didn’t want to see either of you get hurt. Him or you.” Her own response surprised her. She really didn’t want Klaus to get hurt.
Klaus was temporarily mollified by her honesty and turned from her, running his free hand through his hair. Caroline’s gaze was captured by the fresh blood that had been spread through the short curls on the top of his head.
“Where is Tyler?” She asked hesitantly.
“Your boyfriend ran as soon as his little plan failed. He left his friends for dead,” Klaus said evenly as he turned to look at her once more.
“I don’t think he’s my boyfriend anymore,” Caroline said without meaning to.
Klaus smirked at her admission and she could have forgotten about the massacre around them if not for the blood coloring his features.
“Please don’t kill him,” Caroline pleaded. She knew it was futile, but she had to try. Just because she was fairly certain that Tyler was cheating on her didn’t mean she wanted him dead.
“You can’t save him, love. He took what I’ve been working toward for a thousand years from me. If I see him, I’ll rip his heart from his chest before he can beg for his pathetic life.” Klaus’s temper was returning. Caroline could see his wolf just under the surface of his skin, begging to be released.
Before she could blink he was right in front of her, centimeters from her face. She couldn’t move. She couldn’t think. All she could do was stare back at him, breathing in the intoxicating scent of him underneath all of the blood. His eyes burnt holes in her skin. He leaned even closer and ghosted his lips gently across the corner of her mouth, across her cheek and up to her ear.
“I’ll be seeing you, love.”
His gentleness shocked her. She drew a breath and parted her lips to say something, anything, but before she could utter a single word he was gone. She stood alone in the cellar for a moment before turning and walking slowly up the stairs. She turned to look over her should when she reached the top of the stairs. Tomorrow she would worry about Tyler and grieve for his friends. As stupid as they were for thinking they could take down Klaus, they didn’t deserve to die. Tonight, however, she would walk home with her fingers pressed her the side of her mouth still feeling Klaus’s lips.

this dog that i dogsit for is an actual angel sent from heaven, evidence:
he’s 100 lbs and so gentle i don’t need any special collar or leash or harness to walk him, ever
he was meant to be a service dog but he was too shy so he became a rescue, can u even imagine
so well behaved he waits for me at the tops and bottoms of flights of stairs until i tell him it’s okay to go ahead up/down the next flight
he somehow communicates to his dads how much he loves me bc they tell me every time i leave and they come back he’s sad ?? my son !
he knows that if it rains or snows or he gets wet he needs to wait at the bottom of the stairs inside their condo to be towel dried
he is trained to towel dry himself; i hold out the towel and he wiggles his body through it back and forth until i dry his tail and that’s his signal to go ahead and go inside
he hangs out by my feet all evening making big impatient huffing noises until i go in the bedroom with him and sit up in bed doing whatever i’m doing so he can sleep by me
