So we got a poem this time for 6x03 (transcription for easier use)

Great Cap’n Skall on the map did scrawl, a journey by river and sea. From the isles without name her legend she claimed sailing north, she called herself free. Through forests and flowers, past the uneven towers, our great captain adventured ahead. To the east were the fields autumn’s bountiful yields but Skall did not hunger for bread. Skall hungered for glory, she wanted a story they’d tell it long after she died. So with winter wind’s blowing she sailed north, forgoing a man who’d have made her his bride. Alone in the cold, yet ever so bold Skall made her mark on the map. That northernmost hook is in every book and yet what became of the cap? What’s one mark on the world? Her sails unfurled there was so much more to behold! And oh, winter wailed as east she sailed into waters so deadly and cold. Then came the ice, and trapped in its vise the great captain spent her last days. And while she found peace she wished that, at least she’d told him she loved him, always.

A proper analysis post will follow, but this is just for posterity's sake

I know "60s housewives who invented slash fanfiction" has taken on a life of its own as a phrase, but Kirk/Spock didn't really exist until the 70s and THOSE WOMEN HAD JOBS. They were teachers and librarians and bookkeepers and scientists and they damn well spent their own money going to conventions, printing zines, buying fanart and making fandom happen. Put some respect on their names.

“My heart, I want to get my heart back”

Mytho is an interesting character within the story of Princess Tutu. The entire plot revolves around returning his heart, yet we don’t really learn much about what his personality is like until much later in the story precisely because he has no heart. In his heartless state he’s often described in-universe as being “like a doll”, someone delicate and beautiful but with no will of his own.

The flower I chose for Mytho is the snowdrop: a delicate white flower dangling at the end of a thin peduncle. Its daintiness also reminds me of how Mytho is very much a gender invert “damsel in distress”, with Kraehe determined to keep him for herself by any means necessary. This piece was inspired by a pivotal scene in the season 1 finale, after a certain character shatters Mytho’s magic sword, which then fly away as two golden swans. 🦢
