I constantly think about the fact that Benedict Cumberbatch was the only actor who was trusted with the full script of Infinity War and Endgame, not only because he is an amazing and prestigious actor, but also because of the importance of his role.

Doctor Strange was the only one who knew what should be done to avert Thanos’ snap.

He knew their first plan on Titan would fail. And yet he tried all the same with the same determination.

He knew Peter Quill would mess up with their attempt to stop Thanos. And yet he let it happen.

He knew he would have to hand the Time Stone, a precious artifact trusted to him by his beloved mentor.

He knew Thanos would succeed, wiping half of the universe. The same universe he swore to protect.

He knew he was going to become dust. He embraced death way before Death herself showed up as a test for him to overcome his physical limits.

He knew he would have to trust the remaining heroes so he could come back, which is incredible already because this is not something Stephen usually does. He hates not being in control.

And finally, he knew who was going to die in the process, being forced to live with all the guilt this knowledge could bring.

Stephen might not have the most important role, but he was above everyone else. And no other hero, stronger or not, was in the same league. Because he’s not just a hero. He’s something more.

And in the end, I’m not disappointed that he isn’t recognized as he should. Because it’s precisely what he does. He protects people from threats they can’t see. He’s not out there, being visible for spotlight. He’s always occult, hidden, because while noble heroes such as the Avengers are fighting in the light, he’s the one in the shadows. He’s the one who protects people when there’s only darkness. And that says a lot about what kind of hero he is. 

I couldn’t be prouder.

I have seen some tags saying Lan and Wei changed the rules of ao3 (but i have lost who said it) so I hope is ok if i ask in here in case any mod knows how that happened? (or any of the followers) i am not very familiar with that book/show

Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian (you wouldn't call them just Lan and Wei, those are their family names) are the subjects of the infamous fanfiction Sexy Times with Wangxian. STwWX had over 4,400 tags, and the author would deliberately add more tags in an attempt to clog people's feeds as much as they could, including adding as many popular fandom tags as possible to put the fic on more screens. You couldn't report it for mistagging, either, because the author was conscientious about only adding tags that appeared in some way in the fic.

Anyway, it was the reason that ao3 eventually added a limit to how many tags people could put on their fic. Here's a zoomed-out screenshot:

I’m sorry friends, but “just google it” is no longer viable advice. What are we even telling people to do anymore, go try to google useful info and the first three pages are just ads for products that might be the exact opposite of what the person is trying to find but The Algorithm thinks the words are related enough? And if it’s not ads it’s just sponsored websites filled with listicles, just pages and pages of “TOP FIFTEEN [thing you googled] IMAGINED AS DISNEY PRINCESSES” like… what are we even doing anymore, google? I can no longer use you as shorthand for people doing real and actual helpful research on their own.

the funniest dynamc between my boyfriend and i is the chef/baker divide runs so deep. experimentally my boyfriend is a genius with figuring out what flavor profiles will not just taste good together but also will be enjoyed by the specific audience he is cooking for. a recipe is not a guidebook so much as a suggestion and he will frankenstein ideas together to get exactly what he wants to happen. he also didnt know that sugar will not work properly if you dont mix it with the wet ingredients in banana bread and when i asked 'why didnt you do it in the order of the recipe' he said 'i didnt really think it mattered'. autistically i exploded his head in my mind

In any other fandom it’s really hard to justify supporting toxic characters/ships, but not Total Drama. Almost all the characters are literally off-the-walls clinically insane, probably psychotic and insanely problematic, and every ship has so much wrong with it it’s ridiculous, but it’s okay because it’s all like that, it’s an unspoken understanding we all have to let ourselves justify cheating & attempted murder or else we’d all go down
