with all the new amenities in the new house, it’d been a while since scott had seen anyone outside. he’d been taking advantage of the pool being empty now and taking some time to himself. he swam up to the edge of the pool and looked out at the view. it was mostly all brush but the ocean could be seen in the distance. he lifted his arms up onto the side and rested his chin on his hand, getting lost in thought completely. 

Once the villa was opened for the islanders to explore, Adelaide found herself wandering from room to room taking in all of the sights and excitement like the others. She was delighted to be sharing a room with one of her best friends, but the thrill of the experience ahead of her was almost too much for the actress to deal with in the moment, so she stepped outside of the back door for some fresh air in hopes that it would calm her nerves. As soon as Addy set foot in the backyard, she immediately caught sight of Scott, who seemed to have a similar idea to hers. “Hi,” she greeted, taking a seat on the side of the pool and allowing her long legs to dip into the cool water. “What do you think of this place so far?”

“I can’t say I mind. I’ve played tennis now and then, but basketball is a lot more fun to watch. Who did you intend on playing with, might I ask? If we can get a football player like Lexie, maybe we can get a single basketball player in the villa too.”

Adelaide wasn’t entirely sure how to answer Rami’s question. On one hand she was currently coupled up with Charles, who she did admire despite not knowing him very well, but on the other she knew that she’d be lying if she said that she wasn’t curious about the actor. “I’m really flattered,” she responded honestly, running her fingers through her hair. “I’d really love to get to know you, and see some of Spain on top of it.”

Hey, guys! I’m so, so glad that we’re open again! I thought I was going to need a little more time to come back because I’ve had a really crazy week, but luckily I didn’t realize that I don’t work until later in the day so I’ll try to jump in the starter tag and do some replies!

louis couldn’t help but laugh at lex’s excitement and turned to shake adelaide’s hand. “it’s a pleasure to meet you.” he smiled softly at her. “but yeah, guess i am. only fair though because she stole mine too.” he winked at lex. the smile on his face only grew when it was said that lex’s parents were routing for them and they really liked them. it made lou feel like he was doing something right. if he had her parents on board then things were going really well for them, it actually made him somewhat excited to meet them. “wow, that’s really, really nice to know.” louis was somewhat shocked though. especially since he and lex weren’t exactly pg in their relationship. although he tried to keep it as underwraps as he possibly could. “crazy to think people are actually watching our relationship blossom though!” 

Lex smiled, watching who were now two of her best friends meet. She knew they’d get on well. They had to. Lex reached for Lou’s hand, giving it a squeeze followed by a squeal escaping her as she became very giddy over hearing her parents were proud of her. “God, I’ve been so nervous!! I don’t know why but you know I only ever want to make them proud.” She smiled fondly, really missing her parents though. Lex’s eyes widened as she realized she might’ve seen her sister. “Did you see Jen?! Is she huge? Oh my God, how is she? How’s the baby? She’s due in about a month!” She said excitedly. “Mom and dad aren’t….mad….at my actions in here?” She asked glancing at Lou nervously since they’d been having loads of sex in the villa. They were good at keeping it under the covers every time though! As annoying as it’d been. 

Adelaide beamed at the couple standing before her. It was one thing to root for them to succeed at home, but now that she was with them in person and could sense the joy exuding from them, she was even more delighted that they’d wound up together. “Of course you’re making them proud! You guys are doing better than any of us could have imagined, and we’re so happy about it,” she assured the pair, feeling glad that she was able to share news from home to them. Addy didn’t have too many people to miss, and she’d already been moving from place to place anyway before entering the villa, but she couldn’t fathom how difficult it must have been for some of the islanders to be away from the people they love for so long. When Lexie asked about her sister, the actress hesitated for a bit, unsure about whether she should tell her all about the complications of her pregnancy. “Jen’s doing the best that she can. She’s been in the hospital for a bit, but she seemed to be better when I saw her, especially after hearing about you two. No word on a name for the little tyke yet, but I’m sure they’ll keep you posted if at all possible. No one’s mad at you in the slightest. It’s understandable under the conditions that we can get intimate now and then. They avert their eyes and don’t love hearing about it, of course, but they love you both and want you to do what you want and be happy.”

“yeah you’re a talented girl, you don’t need to worry. i’m sure work will come to you. just take your time to enjoy yourself and not stress about things too much. that’s why it’s really nice here, it’s a sweet little vacation. can get a bit heated at times, but it’s part of the fun.” charles couldn’t help but smile when adelaide stopped to smell the roses, it was a cute move and if charles didn’t think that ever flower smelt the same, he’d have probably joined her. “beautiful here isn’t it? really decorative.” charles nodded his head in agreement. “me either, life is crazy and busy back home. and i was in a relationship but it’s hard when you work together and are with each other 24/7 to really appreciate the time you’ve got together, you know?” there was other reasons his relationship ended, but he’d leave the story at that for now.

“i think you’ve just got to be a bit savage about if you want to get to know someone. otherwise what’s the point, you know? you’re not gonna get anywhere.” he shrugged. “i admire that, you willing to fight for who you want.” he smirked. he listened as she described her type. and not to toot his own horn, but he knew he fit it. he was six foot exactly, dark features and he knew how good looking he was, used it to his advantage most of the time. “what about a guy who takes a little bit more work to crack?” he asked, knowing it could take a lot to get to his soft center. “would you put in the time and effort?” he was genuinely curious of her answer. “my typical type is brunette, smaller than me, someone who i can just have a complete laugh with and enjoy spending time with. i’m not looking to be married with kids yet, you know? i feel like i need someone who’s just willing to spend some time being young and having fun.” 

Adelaide almost felt transparent to Charles as he reassured her about work and making her experience in the villa an exciting and relaxing one. Her struggles with finding roles and moving on from Reign’s cancellation were the greatest hurdles that she had to overcome over the past year, and it took a lot of her repeating words to herself that were nearly identical to Charles’ to convince herself to come on the show in the first place. She was surprised that he’d been in a relationship as he didn’t appear to be a one-woman kind of man, but she related to his frustrations as well after also going through the experience of dating her costar. “I know exactly what you mean. You can’t exactly take a break with someone when it’s your job to act like you’re in love with them every day.”

“That was one of the reservations I had before I came here. I’d seen the show here and there and started rooting for some of the couples, and then when it was confirmed that I’d be coming to the villa, I started getting scared about breaking people up. It took a bit for me to work out mentally that we all deserve to be happy, but if you meet someone that you’re attracted to and you don’t pursue them, I think it’s only fair for someone else to be able to have their chance too if they’re willing to fight for that person and show them that they’d make a good match.” Adelaide was perfectly willing to put in the time and effort for the right person, just as she would outside of the villa.

She realized too that she was essentially describing her date, but she wasn’t too embarrassed about the fact. She’d chosen Charles for a reason after all, and what better reason than because he fit her ideal already? “Of course,” Adelaide responded without hesitation. “I feel like I usually gravitate towards aloof, harder-to-reach people anyway. Anything worth having is worth working hard for.” It didn’t take Addy long to realize that his description of his type resembled her, but not entirely. She was an admitted workaholic, but she wouldn’t be there if she wasn’t willing to learn to let things go and focus on having a good time. “That sounds like quite the girl. I think the engagements and all of that that have happened here in the past are charming and adorable, but you’d have to be a bit delusional to expect something like that out of a place like this.”

“That’s the thing about nostalgic stuff, either it’s worth a fortune or you can’t even get rid of it at a yard sale,” Addy remarked, though she was still intrigued by the game either way. “Well, I haven’t exactly been here long enough to play the field. In fact, the only guy I’ve been on a date with is Charles, but it went well and I think he’s pretty great.”

Everyone’s been nothing but kind and welcoming to me, and I’ve had some really great conversations with people I hope to become friends with, and maybe a couple that I’d want even more than that from.”

“You are speaking to my soul right now,” Hailee laughed at her comments. “Famous friends are some of the best ones. Everyone here has done so many cool things.” She understood what Addy was saying about work and it made sense, but the feeling of missing out had been killing her the last few days. “I get that. I think the longer I’m here, the more worried I get about what I’m missing out on.” She smiled sheepishly at the older woman’s excitement about her and Scott. “I would say definitely keep your options open. This is going to be a very full summer.”

“The whole concept of having famous friends is absolutely foreign to me,” Addy responded hesitantly. “I have a few from the shows that I’ve worked on, but for the most part we were all discovered together, so they don’t feel unattainable or anything.” She really felt for Hailee and what she was going through about her career. The situation even reminded her of how she had been feeling over the last year, but Adelaide knew that she’d have to put all of her worries and work concerns aside if she was ever going to enjoy herself. “Yeah, I know it’s hard,” she empathized as she rested her hand on the girl’s shoulder. “I was in the same boat before coming here, but we just have to think of this as our vacation. Besides, I might not be here for fame, but being on the whole world’s tellys this summer won’t hurt us a bit in getting exposure or work after this.” She considered Hailee’s words and couldn’t help but grin at the possibilities. “You’re right. There are certainly a lot of great options to be had, too.”

louis had been looking for lex, mainly because he wanted a head rub and he knew if he cuddled her long enough, she’d start doing it automatically for him. he found her with a girl he hadn’t spoken to yet, adelaide he believed her name was. and he only caught the tail end of the conversation. “actually…i think you’ll find i’m her biggest fan.” he obviously got the wrong end of the stick, but he was joking nonetheless. 

Lex hugged her friend tightly. The smile on her face not dropping one bit. She was so excited and happy to see a familiar face. “Are you serious?!” She said, becoming heart eyes that her friend saw her happiness and wanted it for herself. “Aww, babe!” She clapped her hands together and saw Lou, getting excited to introduce the two. “Lou! Babe, c’mere. This is A. Well, Adelaide.She’s a really good friend of mine and was telling me how the public adore us and she’s our biggest fan.” She said excitedly, reaching out for Lou’s hand for him to sit with the girls. “Did you talk to mom and dad?! Are they doing okay? God, I miss them so much.” 

Adelaide’s heart swelled once she finally saw Lexie and Louis together in the flesh. It was almost surreal as she hadn’t seen her friend in so long, yet here she was, happier than ever and half of one of the most beloved couples in the world. After being introduced, Addy turned towards the object of her friend’s affection, extending her hand and offering a kind smile. “You must be the man who stole my mate’s heart,” she teased, honestly thrilled to meet him and giving Louis a closer look before sharing news from home. “Of course I saw your mum and dad! As soon as I saw you two get together, I had to go over and get their reaction. They were just as delighted as I was! When they found out I was coming to the villa too, your dad asked me to tell you how proud they are of you both, and that they can’t wait to meet Lou. They said they’d never seen you so happy, and your dad played the typical part. You know, the whole ‘if you break my daughter’s heart’ stuff. But I know he’s just looking out for you, and we’re all rooting for you at home, and now I’m here too to cheer you on.”

“I’m sure it’s a holy relic, probably one of those nostalgic things that are worth a fortune now, so that’d be much appreciated,” Adelaide replied with a laugh. “Yeah, it seems that making friends and keeping them close is really important here. So far everyone has been so nice to me, and I’m definitely making my fair share of friends and even a few beaus, but I’m sure there’s drama lurking around every corner of this villa.”

Adelaide nearly screamed in delight when she caught sight of Alex in the villa. She’d seen her friend on television, of course, but seeing her in person was thrilling beyond belief, and she reciprocated the girl’s embrace with full enthusiasm. “I just got here! Honestly I was already looking for a vacation, but after seeing how happy you are with Louis on the telly, I couldn’t help but want something like that for myself. I’ve got to tell you, Lexie, the public absolutely adores you two! You’re the strongest couple in here, and I’m your number one fan.”

“Put it on airplane mode?” Amber suggested, unsure if that was even an option on her device. “Or you could run some secret campaign from the inside. Sell information to the other competitors. You have so many options… Or you could just play Kirby.” 

“Now that’s an interesting idea. I’ve already rebelled just bringing it, but that would be downright wicked. I wouldn’t want to run the risk of getting kicked off though, or at least getting more in trouble than I would in the first place, so I’ll stick with Kirby.” Addy chuckled, suddenly realizing all of the ways that the device could be used for an advantage on the show. “I probably won’t even be using it until Kirby comes out. There’s just way too many interesting things going on around here. Have you been having a nice time so far?”
