do you think levi can ever truly feel fulfilled? yes he did accomplished the last order and eradicated the titans but him being unable to kill zeke for so long when he had a ton of chances let the rumbling to happen. ok his hands were tied in the forest but still he could have ended him off way back in rts. i mean this is a fact right in front of his eyes, it's not the same as speculating about whether choosing erwin would not lead to the rumbling or not... i wouldnt be able to live without feeling guilty idk

Damn. That's harsh Anon. I don't think it's entirely fair to blame Levi alone for not stopping the rumbling. Arguably, Mikasa, Armin, Hange and Historia all had it within their power (to a greater or lesser degree) to prevent Eren's genocide. Or perhaps they didn't. Perhaps no one could have stopped Eren and that's just the point.

However you're right that if Levi hadn't hesitated in Shiganshina, and had killed Zeke there and then, the course of events is likely to have played out very differently.

I'm sure Levi did feel enormous guilt for not killing Zeke when he first had the chance, you only have to look at his face to see the truth of that. I've often wondered how he squared that moment of fatal hesitation with his "no regrets" mantra. Levi's inability to fulfil his vow clearly weighed heavily on his heart, but it's to his credit that he never gave up and ultimately he made his atonement.

i can’t believe it’s canon that after overthrowing the government levi ackermann helped pass legislation to pull kids out of underground streets and brothels and get them into safe housing in orphanages and homes above ground. like wtf that sounds like something straight out of a self-indulgent fanfiction trying to soften and paternalize their fave but no, that is actual canon material, this pissy fastidious little man with attachment issues, mr three ounces of whoop-ass and unbridled human compassion, decided that the best way to use his influence was to be a kind stranger to starving orphans like himself. i am going to knock myself unconscious and float downriver
