Clintasha Marriage Headcanons

Clit and Natasha have been married for years.

They got married a bit after he got her into SHIELD, for something practical like less paperwork or something like that.

Maybe to get her a green card, but honestly not really. Natalia doesn’t need those things, she’ll just become Natasha.

UNLess you want it like “look, just so they don’t question the alliance change, lets get married”

The only people who were there were Nick Fury and Phil Coulson. One of those two did the ceremony the other was a witness.

Maria Hill is one of the few people who know how they got married.

… or that they even are married.

She makes sure they get an anniversary present.

They’ve gotten married at least three other times for undercover jobs.

That’s not counting the countless ones where their identities are married from their very beginning.

They have this mutual agreement that if either of them want to get married, they’ll just get a divorce and be done with it.

Not that any of their other relationships have ever become serious.

With time, they’ve realized that they actually really love each other.

It took them years to verbalize it.

By then they had been basically monogamous for a long time.

Coulson/Fury offered to renew their vows.

Maria sends a memo every once in a while when everyone has free time. Likey… hey… perfect moment right? I’ll bring the cake.

They’re still pretty open in their relationship, specially during missions:

“Honey, I gotta flirt with this guy for work,” Natasha informs him every time someone, Coulson, brings up that they’re still married.

They don’t really see the point of rings, like if they even had some they were either candy rings or toys and Clint probably got them half joking.

Natasha honestly doesn’t see the point of marriage itself?

People get divorced/cheat all the time?

She has been married/divorced/widowed plenty of times without going with a ceremony.

Although they never meant for it to happen, it has become one of the best kept secrets of SHIELD

Why does it not show up in their personnel files?

…Maria Hill has heard Fury refer to the day she found out as the Incident. She made sure a second one will never happen.

They never told the rest of the Avengers? They eventually suspect they are together, obviously

But stupid spies and their stupid secrets, right???

I’ve got a lot more headcanons for why/how the rest of the Avengers find out, but I feel like this is pretty long soooo…. maybe later.

me: foggy & matt are a great example of platonic love and tenderness between male friends in media 

also me in the same breath: foggy & matt’s relationship is intensely romantic and should be viewed through the lens of mutual “un”requited love. they are the most important people in each other’s lives, and while inadvertently friendzoning each other, their desire to have and to hold slips through. matt, while holding foggy in his arms, saying he wants to be with someone he likes listening to. foggy calling matt attractive. foggy committing himself to matt, that they’d share everything together, that their future was together, and matt smiling soft and saying it sounded like they were getting married. getting their first office together, and matt telling foggy ‘you’re not going to kiss me’. their relationship is messy, and desperate, and painful. they love each other but there is a cost. foggy having it all (a good job, a beautiful gf, a nice apartment) and still not being happy bc matt wasn’t beside him to share it, that ‘when matt was around I knew who I was’, and dropping everything for matt when he came back to him. matt pushing foggy away first bc he’s the one who can hurt him the most, and he’d rather sabotage their relationship than watch foggy walk away from him on his own volition. foggy refusing to give up on matt, even at matt’s worse, bc that’s what he promised – for better or for worse.

I don't know if these still work, but it was the only number I had off the top of my head. I blame cell phones. In the Forties we knew everybody's number by heart.

Based on the date this phone's shining at me, I'm missing about two years. You'd think that would stop bothering me after decades of lost time, but nope. Still a kick in the gut. If it makes you feel any better, Nat, you weren't gonna be my first call. But he's not around to pick up the phone, so. It's gotta be you.

You know, it was kind of nice, for a second. Forgetting we live in a world without Captain America. Then I remembered. They left me that. Whoever's pulling my strings sure has a sick sense of humor.

Here's what I know: I'm not okay. I can hear the voices in my head, and they're pretty much all speaking Russian. I'm definitely in an AIM facility - those hexagons are hard to miss. They obviously reactivated me.

BuckyYelena is a good ship. They’ll find healing in each other and love. They have a similar background. They’ll be a good replacement for what we lost with Tony and Pepper. You’re young so I don’t expect you to understand but people with trauma fall in love with other people with trauma because they connect. Check yourself before you whine nexttime.

What???

No it’s not. They’re both canonically queer; he’s gay (because his source material is Arnie Roth, a gay Jew) and she’s aroace. This erasure is disgusting, and in my opinion, so was the Tony-Pepper relationship, but I won’t get into that.

This doesn’t make sense for their characters and nothing in any movie could make it without destroying what Marvel’s already built for them.
