Written All Over Your Face is louis in knee high socks and a garter, laying down on his back with his feet playing in the air, then slowly getting up on all fours and crawling to the mic and then getting up while rubbing himself on the mic stand and just singing the rest of the song riding it and like. serving pussy. yeah.
I'd love to hear your out there epiphany about OTB. Been an age since I've read Angela's Ashes so you have me curious.
In Angela’s Ashes, Frank McCourt describes his catechism classes in Limerick where he’s learning about the Catholic rites, the services, the prayers, confession, penance, confirmation, etc. All the young boys are learning for the first time, so it’s a bit of mad cramming like studying for a religious bar exam, except they don’t take it seriously and their teacher is very serious.
Anyway, I was reminded of the religious symbolism in Only the Brave— specifically, a Christian symbol. The burning church, the begging for mercy, the falling on knees, the inevitable crossing from “we” to “I,” the journey that one man must make alone (“a solo song”), a fate he can’t avoid, the entrance into darkness and bleakness, the persecution that leads to death but ultimately to new life, a resurrection after the stars fall from the sky. It’s a story of Christ, but also a story of sacrifice and redemption.
It’s a tall tale. From cradle to the grave.
It’s a song about love, but a special sort of love. It’s love that is greater than the fear of loss, greater than the fear of death. It’s a tale about a love that’s eternal— something greater than a single life.
“Love is only for the Brave,” because it’s a love that transcends everything, even life itself. I don’t know that the songwriters or Louis were specifically thinking about these symbols, but it’s a very succinct, metaphoric story that completely sympathizes with the faithful: the person who believes in love.

Some people are acting like he had to be pulled out of that show shaking and crying in Joni's arms. When in reality he got back on that stage laughing and playfully showing his band members and photographer (his friends) what happened, there are videos showing the reaction of two of his band members, one was laughing, the other one teased him. Are we watching the same show? Are we watching the same videos? Just say that you're racist and jealous and stop blaming innocent people of being rapists. Which I'm sure is even more offensive to the victims they're trying to "defend". Also, stop calling Helen and Louis idiots, I'm sure they knew it was gonna happen, which is probably one of the reasons why they picked a shirt which buttons wouldn't get destroyed after the fact. Sorry for the rant in your inbox but I needed to get this out of my chest.
dont apologize for the rant! you're right.
during this leg i've lost the count of how many times i saw people implying [latam] fans didn't know how to behave and were disrespectful, using the airport reception, hotel welcoming and screenshots of a one-second choking moment as evidences... in meanwhile, louis has not only showed he enjoys all of that, he has also said it (for god's sake, his last igtv was nothing if not a love letter for latam fans). they also have the tendency of implying louis doesn't have a say on his own actions on-stage...? again, he doesn't have to go to the barricade, he doesn't have to throw himself into the crowd (remember how he did his barricade walk when he had the sling?) but he does it becoause he wants to and enjoys it. if the hands on his face, the screaming, the grabbing, the clutching, if all of that made him uncomfortable, you can be sure as hell he wouldn't be doing it night after night (and the only two times he didn't do it here were 1) for the fans' security and 2) venue rules). they sure as hell love taking louis and his wish out of the equation, don't they? i have no idea why they brought up consent into that, but it's very much giving "i'm going to mention big words and important matters so i can look smart and mask the absolute nonsense i'm saying" vibes. i don't know what's up with them acting as if louis was waking down on the street and we teared open his t-shirt there... that was a rockstar having a rockstar moment, maybe if they kept track on louis' posts, they would know that's his favorite moment of every show instead of acting like crybabies online. calling helen and louis idiots for picking that shirt is just the cherry on top, isn't it? mentioning feminism on their first tag and proceeding on questioning a woman and her qualifications for the job with no reason, simply because you want to? saying you care about louis and respects him but calling him names because of a shirt? yeah. it makes so much sense
There’s just something so satisfying about Louis Tomlinson being victorious because he treats us with love, he respects our money, we are equal to him, he adores our passion, the music is AMAZING. And yet, many times it feels like you are holding gold in your hands and swimming against the current. And damn we Louies are resilient. And when we get a “we made it moment” (because it’s always we and never I) damn, its 10 times better.
Fuck anyone who said Louis found his voice backstage
Fuck anyone who said Louis was better as a mentor
Fuck anyone who said Louis wouldn’t have a successful solo career
Fuck anyone who said Louis couldn’t carry a note
Fuck anyone who ever doubted Louis belongs on stage
I may sound like a broken record, but the Louis I saw yesterday and in Argentina, BELONGS ON THE STAGE!!! Always always amazed by his voice, his talent, his ability to make us feel united and loved, his personality and his professionalism ❤️
