Difference Between Lactose Free & Diary Free
We will often see the terms lactose-free and dairy-free on various products and foods. But do they mean the same thing? Actually, no!
Lactose-free foods are dairy products where the lactose has been removed.
Dairy-free means there is no dairy at all, it’s made from plants or nuts.
Understanding these labels is important for people with a milk allergy (also referred to as dairy allergy). Lactose-free products are made for people with lactose intolerance but they are usually not suitable for people who have milk allergies or who are on a vegan or dairy-free diet.
Tumblr media
Lactose Intolerance
Lactose is a sugar found in milk and milk products. Our bodies produce an enzyme called lactase, which helps us to digest lactose properly. In some people, the body stops producing adequate amounts of lactase and they become unable to digest the sugar properly, causing gastric discomforts such as gas, bloating, cramps, diarrhea, and nausea.
For some, ingesting small amounts of foods containing lactose may not cause any problems, or those who are lactose intolerant may find that they can eat yogurt and goat's milk. There are also lactase tablets which help in digesting lactose. But for people who cannot tolerate lactose, choosing lactose-free products is their best bet.
Tumblr media
Milk Allergy (A.K.A. Dairy Allergy)
Milk allergies are the most common food allergy in infants and young children. A person with a milk allergy is often allergic to one of two protein components of milk such as casein and whey. The body's immune system overreacts to these specific proteins, causing mild symptoms such as hives, itching, and swelling, to more serious symptoms like wheezing, trouble breathing, and even loss of consciousness. Therefore, those with a milk allergy should not ingest any food that contains milk.

Why We Want To Go Dairy Free?
Tumblr media
Dairy products are deeply problematic on both health and ethical grounds. On the health side, countless people who’ve quit dairy witnessed enormous improvements to their health such as chronic congestion, digestive problems or acne may vanish within a few weeks.
Nutritionally speaking, dairy is bad news everywhere you look. Nearly all of its carbohydrates come from sugar—all of it in the form of lactose, which many people can’t properly digest. Lactose intolerance is common in every part of the world. So if you’ve suffered from chronic digestive problems, it may be that dairy products are to blame. Moreover, almost half of the calories in whole milk come from fat. Worse yet, the fat in dairy products is every bit as saturated as the fat in beef. Dairy also has absolutely no fiber or iron.
On the ethical side, dairies impregnate their cows annually in order to maximize milk yields. Generally, these calves get taken away at just two days of age. What happens to these calves? The males commonly supply the veal industry. So if you oppose the crating and slaughter of young calves, know that dairy products are what makes the veal industry possible.
Tumblr media
How To Go Dairy-Free?
If the idea of rapidly removing all dairy products from our diet seems daunting , you can ease into it. Think for a moment about all the dairy products you currently consume. Out of all the products you can think of it might be that 1 or 2 foods from this list that you’re especially fond of. So just get rid of the others, and you’re immediately more than halfway to being dairy-free! The best approach for eliminating dairy foods involves not cutting them out, but rather crowding them out with superior non-dairy alternatives. And luckily, there are actually a lot of non-dairy products on the market that are truly wonderful:-
Milk: Soy milk and almond milk are widely available, not just at natural food stores but also at most supermarkets.
Cheese: Vegan cheeses on the market has soared in recent years. If the label does not say vegan, be sure check the ingredients. Some soy cheeses contain these milk-based proteins. Or alternatively you may have your own home made vegan cheese. Get Recipe Now!
Ice Cream:  You may always try sorbets, which tend to be vegan and are lighter and often more flavorful than ice cream. If you love the flavor of coconuts, any original coconut ice cream is a good choice too.
Coffee Creamer: You may try to avoid putting cream in your coffee.
Tumblr media
Dairy-Free Nutrition
It’s important for everyone to read up on nutrition to ensure their diet isn’t deficient in any nutrients.
If you’ve decided to go dairy-free, two nutrients in particular deserve your attention: Calcium and Vitamin D. Only a handful of foods that compare favorably to dairy in terms of calcium. But these foods are delicious and quite healthful. They include:
Some leafy greens Eg: Bok Choy, Kale
Some beans or nuts Eg: Black Eyed Peas, Almonds
Calcium fortified soy milk
Calcium-set tofu

Benefits of Rice Bran Oil
Tumblr media
Has a Neutral Taste
The outer layer of the rice grain is called bran and the oil is extracted from this brown husk. It has a mild flavour and is neutral in taste. The taste does not clash with your food and you can even use it in cookies and cakes. It may lend a mild nutty flavor. It can be used for sautéing, grilling, marinades and is great in salad dressings. It's light and quite versatile.
Tumblr media
Aids Weight Loss
It contains high levels of natural antioxidants which boost metabolic rate and may help with weight loss.  The high level of antioxidants not only makes this oil healthy but also makes it resist rancidity and spoilage. It has a long shelf life.
Tumblr media
Good for the Skin
Squalene is a compound present in Rice Bran Oil which is easily absorbed by the skin and keeps it soft, supple and smooth. Enjoy them while bath time or for massage.
Treats Dark Spots
Using rice bran oil topically has its benefits. It evens out the skin tone and reduces dark spots. It also helps treat the puffiness around eyes.
Helps Treat Eczema
The moisturizing properties of rice bran oil help treat dry skin and eczema. Other dry skin conditions like dermatitis, rosacea, and even rashes can be treated with rice bran oil.

Basmati Rice vs White Rice
There are many types of rice available in the market. Including long grain, short grain, white, brown, red, parboiled, … But what are their differences? Besides their usage / flavor / texture, what about their benefits?
Different Type of Rice
Short-grain rice is very starchy and cooks up soft and sticky. It’s used in things like sushi, paella, and risotto -- Pearl Rice
Medium-grain rice has a shorter, wider kernel. Since the cooked grains are more moist and tender than long grain rice, the rice has a greater tendency to stick together -- Common White Rice
Long-grain rice contains less starch so the cooked grains are drier and more separate. It’s often used in pilafs or dishes with a lot of sauce --Basmati Rice are long-grain varieties that have been cultivated to bring out distinctive flavor profiles. They often turn up in Indian and Asian food.
Tumblr media
Comparing Basmati Rice & White Rice
Like all rice, basmati rice is available in brown and white, with the white version produced by removing the bran (which is the outer husk or covering of each grain) from the brown version, as well as the germ, which is the seed that causes the rice plant to grow, leaving the white starchy portion.
Because bran provides dietary fiber and essential fatty acids, and the germ contains a number of nutrients, the brown version of basmati rice (and all rice) is generally considered healthier than the white version. Brown basmati also has a more nutty flavor and a firmer texture than white.
Some recipes call for soaking basmati rice before cooking it, but this is entirely wrong. High quality basmati rice undergoes a two-year aging process specifically for the purpose of drying it as thoroughly as possible, which in turn concentrates its distinctive flavors and aromas.
Soaking it undoes all of this, while also making the rice more sticky, which is the opposite of what a properly prepared basmati should be. Indeed, basmati rice is prized for its light, fluffy consistency, with the grains remaining separate rather than clumped together.
On the other hand, rinsing it before cooking is a good idea, as it helps to remove any starches from the surface of the grains which would tend to make the cooked rice stickier.
What’s the Serving Size of Rice?
Although some types of rice have a lower glycemic load than others, no type of rice can really be considered a low glycemic food. That’s why it’s important to exercise some portion control. A serving of cooked rice is one cup, or about the size of your fist.

Basmati rice is a unique species of rice that is originated from India. Like all the other rice, basmati has two types: white or brown. It depends on the extent of the grinding process. Basmati has a unique aroma. The aroma is actually due to a chemical called 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline, which is found in basmati rice at about 90 parts per billion. The word “Basmati” comes from Hindi, “bas” and “mati” means “aromatic”. Everyone who has ever cooked basmati rice will definitely love the aroma!.
Nutrient Content of Basmati Rice
Not only has a good aroma, basmati rice has very good nutritional value too. It contains carbohydrates, protein, less fat, fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
Calorie. A serving about 3/4 cup basmati rice contains 150 calories. Most of the calories come from carbohydrates basmati rice, a fraction of fat and protein.
Carbohydrate. A serving basmati rice contains 35 grams of carbohydrates, which are mostly found in the bran of wheat and white flour.
Fat. As stated earlier, the rice are low-fat, low-cholesterol foods. Most of the fat content is very minimal which is located in wheat germ, which wastes during the milling process.
Protein. About 3 g per serving. But it’s a little rice protein containing valuable benefits. Protein from basmati rice contains eight essential amino acids. Basmati containing 10 percent RDA for protein per cup of rice.
Vitamins and Minerals. Basmati rice contains thiamin and niacin, two vitamin B that very valuable for metabolism. Vitamin B1 ensure red blood cells healthy and helps the normal functioning of the nervous system. Riboflavin, Pantothenic acid, folate and biotin supplement your vitamin B requirements.
Tumblr media
How Does Basmati Rice help us?
Prevent Cancer Cells
Fiber is one of the hugest health benefits that basmati rice has to offer, simply because it is a nutrient that we need in our daily lives. One of the outstanding benefits that fiber contributed to the body is its ability to prevent the formation of cancer cells especially colon cancer. fiber passes quickly through the colon, which meant that it can flush out cancer causing compounds. The same studies also showed that the more fiber you intake, the less likely you will get colon cancer
Suitable For Diabetics
Basmati rice actually has a way lower glycemic index than any other rice. The GI (glycemic index) of a food type is determined by how rich the food is in fat, protein, fiber, and how digestible the starch is. Carbohydrates that are difficult to digest lead to low blood glucose levels, which means that basmati rice can actually help to regulate a diabetic person’s blood sugar.
Suitable For Diet Program
Basmati Rice has higher level of “amylose” – a type of carbohydrate which is not easy to be digested. By consuming basmati rice, our stomach will need longer time to digest, and thus not so easy to get hungry. Avoiding us from snacking. .
Prevent Hemorrhoids
High fiber in Basmati rice will help reduce the work of the rectal muscle movement and reduce pressure on the rectum so that hemorrhoids can be prevented.
Controlling Cholesterol And Reduce Heart Disease Risk
Fiber can bind cholesterol and bile acids as well as take it out of the body along with the feces, so that the concentration of fat and cholesterol in the blood decreases and the possible risk of heart disease/stroke also fell.

Almond Milk vs Conventional Milk
Each milk has its advantages and disadvantages, depending on a person’s diet, health, nutritional needs, or personal taste preferences.
On the other hand, people who needs to watch their calories or cholesterol for weight reasons or heart health problems should be careful with their selections. We were taught about conventional milk available on the display rack since decades ago. But we actually do have an alternative option. Which is higher in protein and lower in calories! – The ALMOND MILK!
Tumblr media
In order to produce Almond, almonds are soaked in the water for a night, blended with water until smooth, and you need to use a fine cloth to remove the leftover nuts blend.
Of course, it’s not too difficult, but it’s not easy either! Why not try the Love Earth Organic Almond Soy Milk? It’s in powder form and you can just add in cold / warm water to make the nutritious drink! High in Calcium and Vitamin D, naturally lactose-free, low in calories, and contains no saturated fat.

Conventional Dairy Milk
What about the Dairy Milk we see in the market? There are 3 main milk categories found in Malaysia.
  1.      Whole Milk - mainly referring as Full Cream Milk or Cow’s Milk, no fats are removed. It is high in natural proteins, fat, calcium, and vitamin D.
2.      Other Dairy Milk – Fats are partially or fully removed (Low Fat/ Fat Free). Fat-free milk has all of the nutritional benefits of whole milk such as good source of protein, calcium, vitamins, and minerals but without the saturated fat and calories.
3.      Lactose-Free Milk – Processed milk. Lactose is broken down. Lactose-free milk is a good source of protein, calcium, vitamins, and minerals.
But what’s the difference between Almond Soy Milk and Dairy Milk?Whats the Different?
Tumblr media
Dairy milk and Almond milk are both packed with essential nutrients and generally good for you. Both are rich in calcium, vitamin A, vitamin D, and B vitamins.

Wheatgrass vs Matcha
Long gone are the days when eating kale felt trendy or exotic. Now there are more unusual ways to eat your healthy greens, such as wheatgrass and matcha, many of which come in powder form and even turned into spread. Nowadays, both of this greens are really easy to add to our diet. Just a sprinkle into a smoothie or morning oatmeal or even a glass of water you’re ready to go. More creatively, you may also turn them into your daily bread spread with some yogurt or milk as a homemade healthy spread. It sounds weird but who knows Avocada can be a spread on toast too right? So its always good to have a try on your wildness ^^
Tumblr media
First of all Wheatgrass is a nutrient-rich type of young grass in the wheat family. It provides a concentrated amount of nutrients, including iron, calcium, magnesium, amino acids, chlorophyll, and vitamins A, C and E. Wheatgrass fans say that its rich nutrient content boosts immunity, kills harmful bacteria in the digestive system, and rids the body of wastes. Some proponents tout wheatgrass as a treatment for cancer and chemotherapy side effects, anemia, diabetes, infections, ulcerative colitis, and joint pain, among other health concerns.  Here is 4 Topis we had been cover before about Wheatgrass:
Wheatgrass for Premenstrual Syndrome

Is Wheatgrass Suitable for Children?
5 Interesting Way To Use Wheatgrass
Tumblr media
What is Matcha?
Matcha is a type of green tea made by taking young tea leaves and grinding them into a bright green powder and it normally whisked with hot water as matcha tea. This is different from regular green tea, where the leaves are infused in water, then removed. With matcha, you’re drinking the whole tea leaves. Matcha leaves are grown on green tea bushes kept under shade. The shade increases the amount of chlorophyll content in the leaves, which is what makes them bright green and full of nutrients. The leaves are picked by hand and the stems and veins are removed.
Benefit of Matcha
Matcha, like other green teas, contains a class of antioxidants called catechins (EGCG), which is believed to have cancer-fighting effects on the body. Studies have linked green tea to a variety of health benefits, like helping to prevent heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer, and even encouraging weight loss.
How It’s Made
About 2 weeks before harvest, farmers build structures around the plants to shade them, leaving them almost in the dark. It’s thought that this makes the leaves softer, sweeter, and brighter. After harvest, the tea leaves are quickly steamed, then dried and put into heated ovens for 20 minutes or so. Workers then remove stems, twigs, and other unneeded parts and grind the leaves into powder.
How It’s Taste?
Though it’s made from the same leaf, some people say matcha is sweeter and creamier than regular green tea. You may also notice a “grassiness” to the smell and taste, especially if you use a lot of the powder.

Is Wheatgrass Safe for Children?
We are often been asked by parents with different age of child: Can I offer Wheatgrass to my child or baby?
We would say there is no exact answer for this question even Google can’t give you the best advice. But this doesn’t mean that you can’t offer to your little monster because nothing is certain. What you can do is to offer it to them at the right and suitable time.
When is the suitable timing to offer them Wheatgrass?
To be safe, it is always good to offer new food or beverage to your child when their digestion systems are stable and able to tolerate new intake. For example, when the time you feel it is safe to feed your little monster fast food, snack and carbonated drink… In conversely, you are ready to offer them something good at that time too.
Undergoing any Food Sensitivity Issue?
Here is another common question: Is Wheatgrass gluten-free?
Generally, Yes! They are harvested from a growing wheat plant without any seeds. Wheatgrass is the fresh sprouted leaves of the wheat plant. When people hear wheat, they will linked it too gluten. However, the actual grass itself does not contain gluten. Gluten is only found in the seed kernels of the wheat plant, not in its grasses. If the grass is cut at an appropriate time before it’s allowed to grow seeds, it should be gluten-free. Unfortunately, there is a risk of cross-contamination when it comes to wheatgrass and there’s always the unknown of when exactly it was cultivated. Additionally, if you are allergic to wheat, you should also avoid wheatgrass entirely just to be safe.
Things to Take Care about Fresh Raw Wheatgrass.
Though wheatgrass has numerous health benefits, there are some issues associated with wheatgrass, particularly for infants, toddlers and pregnant women..
Allergic reactions: Wheatgrass can cause nausea, headaches, hives or swelling in throat either right after ingestion or after few minutes of ingestion. If the person experiences swelling of throat, check with your doctor immediately. People with grass allergy, celiac disease or gluten intolerance should avoid wheatgrass.
Bacterial and mold infections: As wheatgrass is grown in moist conditions, there are many chances of bacterial infections or molds growing in wheatgrass. As wheatgrass is consumed raw, chances are that these bacterial infections or molds can enter to the person ingesting wheatgrass. This is particularly an issue with infants, toddlers and pregnant women who are very sensitive to any bacterial or fungal infections. So, caution is advised to pregnant women taking wheatgrass and parents giving wheatgrass juice to infants and toddlers.
With the above-mentioned issue, we would suggest you to take Organic Wheatgrass Powder – which they are organically grown and harvested. With high standard hygiene process and infections are avoidable! Do purchase now! Buy 6 and get 10% off for all!

Wheatgrass For Cancer Patient
Tumblr media
How It Works?
If we look at oxygen as a bullet to kill cancer cells, then we should look at wheatgrass as a shotgun blast at treating cancer. The number of ways it deals with cancer is incredible.
It contains chlorophyll 叶绿素, which has almost the same molecular structure as hemoglobin 血红蛋白. Chlorophyll increases hemoglobin production, meaning more oxygen gets to the cancer.
Selenium 硒 and laetrile 苦杏仁苷 are also in wheatgrass, both are anticancer.
Chlorophyll and selenium also help build the immune system.
Wheatgrass is one of the most alkaline foods known to mankind and more!
Wheatgrass contains at least 13 vitamins (several are antioxidants), including B12, many minerals and trace elements, including selenium, and all 20 amino acids. It also contains the hormone abscisic acid 激素脱落酸, the antioxidant enzyme SOD (Superoxide Dismutase 超氧化物歧化酶) and over 30 other enzymes, the antioxidant enzyme cytochrome oxidase 色素氧化酶, laetrile, and more.
SOD converts one of the most dangerous free radicals: Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), into a hydrogen peroxide molecule (which has an extra oxygen molecule to kill cancer cells) and an oxygen molecule.
Tumblr media
Reason Why Wheatgrass Is A Cancer-Healing Power House
Chlorophyll is what gives plants their vibrant bright green color and it helps to regulate many healing functions in the human body, including hormone balance, detoxification, blood clotting and wound healing.
Chlorophyll is also a solid cancer-preventer for several reasons.
Help to clean and oxygenate the blood.
Helps to reduce inflammation in the body.
Chlorophyll is a powerful antioxidant and appears to protect against many dangerous carcinogens found in the environment and in food.
Wheatgrass is packed with upwards of 100 essentials nutrients (the equivalent of about 2 pounds of greens per one “shot”). Of the dozens of nutrients that are packed into one humble little wheatgrass blade, several have proven to be beneficially for breast health. These include selenium, vitamin D, Vitamins B6 and B12, magnesium, manganese, potassium and zinc. It is also a natural source of calcium.
Finally, chlorophyll is currently being studied as an alternative to Methotrexate (MXT), a toxic drug commonly used in conventional photodynamic cancer therapy. Researchers at German University in Cairo targeted common breast cancer cells with light-activated chlorophyll and found that a “50% of MCF-7 tumour cell death (LC(50)) was reached by using a concentration of chlorophyll derivative that is 138 times lower than MTX.” There was also no side effects to chlorophyll use, whereas MXT can sometimes result in DNA damage.

What's Nutritious for a Baby?
They should get 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day, though their serving sizes are tiny (for a 6-month-old, a tablespoon or two can be a serving; for a 1-year-old it's more like 1/4 cup).
Tumblr media
Getting Started
Make things easy for yourself by using the jarred or homemade baby food your child already likes in new ways. For example, instead of spooning a jar of peas into her mouth, you might stir the peas into mashed potatoes or tiny cooked pasta. Jarred peaches can be swirled into unsweetened yogurt, pears can become a pancake topping—you get the idea. Your baby will make funny faces as she experiments with new tastes and textures and will inevitably reject some meals.
It also helps to adopt the motto "Let it slide." Babies this age eat when they're hungry and don't have food hang-ups yet. You can keep it that way by letting your child set the pace. Force-feeding a child may actually hinder her ability to tell when she's full. This could lead to overeating as she grows up. Remember that babies have tiny stomachs, and even a few tablespoons of food at any meal may make them feel stuffed.
Tumblr media
Creative Ideas
Prepackaged finger foods for baby are easy to find, but you should avoid those with extra sugar and preservatives. Instead, try using a steamer or small food processor. Steaming only a few minutes, watch to see when the food gets soft. You can run the end result—and really almost every food—through the food processor to make it completely baby-friendly.Once your baby masters this food, you can begin to get more adventurous. For instance, try making pasta with beans and broccoli for you and just toss your baby's portion into the food processor. You can do the same thing with lasagna or cooked chicken and mashed potatoes. Make sure everything you serve to a young baby is soft—about the consistency of a ripe banana.

Whats Made Love Earth Organic Baby Puff so special?
What is Bio-active Nutrients?
Bio-active nutrients are the substances found in plants and other living systems that offer some health benefits. For example, carotenoids, plant sterols or probiotics. Bio-active nutrients can be easily found in the main ingredient of our Baby Puff which is the Organic Sprouted Brown Rice too!
Why Wholesome Ingredients and Freeze Dried Technology?
With all the ingredients are made from wholesome food meant by all the ingredient used in the product are nutritious and good for health. Fresh fruits and vegetables were used for natural coloring and flavoring with the freeze-dried method instead of adding concentrate and chemical flavorings, as it may cause adverse effect towards kids. Artificial sweeteners disrupt dopamine and dopamine receptors in the brain. This can lead to alterations in behavior or binge eating. Evidence indicated that artificial coloring, flavorings and preservatives can cause kids being hyperactive. Concentrate from fruits and vegetables does not provide fiber and contain higher sugar content which will cause addiction to strong taste foods among kids. At the same time reduce the consumption of nutrient dense foods.
