Tav is a young girl with unreliability in life. She steals a little, trades a little, spends the night in a cheap flophouse. Nevertheless, she retains her curiosity and determination, cunning and mischievous nature.

That's what attracted Raphael to her. They had a very pleasant conversation, but it was not enough for the devil. There was an offer from him. "Let's play hide-and-seek, find me and we will definitely come to a mutually beneficial agreement."

Tav started looking for information about the devil. A thread of rumors led her to the devil's share. She needed a lot of eloquence, money saved, and honestly a little dirty work for Helsik. Surely, she helped the girl with this strange request out of curiosity. They agreed to open a portal to the house of hope for a couple of minutes, without the possibility of returning for Tav.

The girl stepped into the portal and found herself in a luxurious hall, the black abyss of the portal closed. Tav didn't know where to focus her attention, on the patterns of the marble floor, on the tall ornate walls, on the huge iron doors and statues on either side of them.

The named guest met a strange dwarf ghost, neither the topics of her conversations nor her insane manner inspired confidence. Tav only told her that she would be waiting for the owner of the house, and the ghost shouted several threats and disappeared. The guest looked around the hall a little more, jumped on the pedestal of the statue at the door and remained sitting waiting. It's convenient in hell, statues in the city are always cold and you can't sit on them for a long time.

The local sun did not move across the sky, so it was difficult to guess how much time had passed. The portal opened again and the long-awaited Raphael appeared in it in the company of an unknown dark-haired dwarf.

"Wow, she's really persistent," the little woman commented.

Tav shifted and tried to sit more gracefully, crossing one leg over the other and unable to hide her impatience.

"A little mouse chewed through the entrance to the cat's house, it's impressive." A sweet pleasure spread across Raphael's face, the same as that on Tav's face.

She jumped off the pedestal and put her hands on her hips. "Now we can talk again," Tav lifted her head up a little, like a cat full of sour cream.

"That's right, my dear," Raphael beckoned her with his hand and hugged her shoulder, causing Tav undisguised delight.

"Now we can discuss a lot," the devil said and led her into the depths of the house of hope.

This didn't make sense to her for a lot of reasons, but she believed it until she was sixteen. It turns out Joyce's grandmother was named Elizabeth, and William lied because it was funny.
