Watch the "Where the City Can't See" trailer here- vimeo.com/188626212
Directed by speculative architect Liam Young and written by fiction author Tim Maughan and designed ‘Where the City Can’t See’ is the world’s first narrative fiction film shot entirely with laser scanners. The computer vision systems of driverless cars goggle maps, urban management systems and CCTV surveillance are now fundamentally reshaping urban experience and the cultures of our city. Set in the Chinese owned and controlled Detroit Economic Zone (DEZ) and shot using the same scanning technologies used in autonomous vechicles, we see this near future city through the eyes of the robots that manage it.
Exploring the subcultures that emerge from these new technologies the film follows a group of young car factory workers across a single night, as they drift through the smart city point clouds in a driverless taxi, searching for a place they know exists but that the map doesn’t show. They are part of an underground community that work on the production lines by day but at night, adorn themselves in machine vision camouflage and the tribal masks of anti-facial recognition to enact their escapist fantasies in the hidden spaces of the city. They hack the city and journey through a network of stealth buildings, ruinous landscapes, ghost architectures, anomalies, glitches and sprites, searching for the wilds beyond the machine. We have always found the eccentric and imaginary in the spaces the city can’t see.
Premiere at "The Invisibel CIty" Nov 12th. Tickets here- heartofglass.org.uk/events/the-invisible-city-rear-window-short-films/

GHOST CELL - TRAILER from Antoine Delach. on Vimeo.
Ghost cell 3D Paris scan / more : antoinedelach.com/GHOST-CELL
Scientific and dreamlike documentary at once, Ghost Cell is a stereoscopic plunge into the guts of an organic Paris seen as a cell through a virtual microscope.

sunshine ripple effect / Amelia Seymour 2012 from amelia seymour on Vimeo.
One rainy Sunday in the Summer in Berlin, I collected all the songs i could find with Sun, Sunny, and Sunshine in the title. I put the 25 i found one above another and cut out all the rest of the words. Then, I lined them all up back to back, as near i i could to their original position. I animated this to react to audio of the various sung suns.

LATIDOS - Recorrido con Rafael Lozano-Hemmer from Arte Abierto on Vimeo.

Tracing Coyotes - A dog crosses my way from Sticky Frames on Vimeo.
Ein animierter, experimenteller Kurzfilm von Eeva Ojanperä und Theresa Grysczok.
2016
Synopsis:
We‘re looking through abstractions, textures, language and gestures to find ways to connect with animals, just to find dare interpretation. „Tracing coyotes, a dog crosses my way“ is an attempt to resize the space between dogs and humans.

The Box from Dusan Kastelic on Vimeo.
You have probably heard of the phrase "To think outside of the box"?
This is a film about such a box and the flat-headed creatures that live inside of it. Life inside the Box is boring and miserable. Until one day a new baby boy starts to grown in the middle of the Box! The boy is very different from other flat-headed inhabitants of the Box- he's happy, lively and curious. As the boy grows bigger and bigger, the flat-headed neighbours are becoming more and more annoyed with him.
Until one day he grows literally over their heads...
