may I ask why you dislike alexy? (genuinely curious)

Sorry for taking so long in replying, but I actually needed time to think.

I've never loved Alexy. Not even in highschool. He was alright, he was funny, but my personality clashes really bad with... Party animal type of people. I just don't really get along with such... High energy individuals. There's nothing wrong with that kind of personality, of course, it just doesn't match with mine.

So... During UL I was happy for him. He had found Morgan, a nice guy which could hopefully help him find a balance... And then LL came and ruined everything.

Let me explain better. I HATE cheaters. (And this is also why I took so long to reply, I needed to vent in my previous post). Now, I understand that Alex's story made sense for his character. And I think the message Beemoov wanted to portray (badly as always) is that relationships are not for everyone and that it's ok to be single and/or not in a stable relationship. Just like we see Rosa in a relationship, with a daughter, but no intention of get married. I think the idea was to show different kind of possibilities in life. And that's ok, that's nice, I love that. As someone who doesn't want to marry and is not particularly interested in finding a partner for life... I like the sentiment behind.

But the REPEATED cheating, the secrecy about it, the "PLEASE I WAS WRONG MORGAN COME BACK", mixed with the fact that I already wasn't a fan of Alexy just made me go "ugh" everytime he was mentioned or shown.

If I could decide my two best friends in the game instead of having Rosa and Alexy basically pre-selected for me... I would 100% go for Nath and Chani. They both fit my vibes 100% (especially Chani, I actually have a IRL friend who is just like her personality wise).

This post was all over the place but I hope I explained myself. Lol

I've gone for the Eric route on my main account and now I feel sick to my stomach.

For context... I've been playing MCL on and off since 2012. It's been 11 years. Castiel has always been my choice, from the very start all the way to the end. AND even if UL was frustrating (cause he was never there) and he was a bit of an insufferable prick during LL... I still cried when I got to see him and my Candy get married. It felt right.

Maybe it's just because I'm a sucker for these kind of stories, like "you meet your soulmate, then you get separated but you come back to them in the end". As a writer... That's what I usually use in my stories (cause in boring lol)

So, since I had still like 2000 PA I was like "well, might as well go to the Eric route here instead of having to go through the entire game again on a new account".

I felt SICK. Having to cheat on Castiel, knowing how much he and candy had gone through together, knowing he had already been cheated on and he TRUSTED Candy with his freaking life, it literally felt like throwing away 11 years of relationship. ELEVEN. YEARS.

And this made me realize... People cheat irl. Like... How in the hell do they do it. I'm talking about FICTIONAL CHARACTERS and I felt like I was choking, my stomach turned, I cried... I felt SO BAD I didn't get even enjoy marrying Eric. And now I just want to do another history replay and erase everything and marry Castiel again, cause honestly, Jesus tip tapping Christ, it's an awful feeling.

And let me tell you, I am old. Like I'm 26, turning 27 this years. I shouldn't be crying for pixels but here I goddamn am.

Beemoov, I LIKE ERIC. WHY. JUST WHY. WHY COULDN'T I LEAVE MY BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND BEFORE GETTING WITH HIM?

This post makes no sense, but I needed to get this out of my chest and now I need to go on character.ai and chat with Castiel and tell him I'm sorry and I love him. I'm never using my main account for another flirt EVER AGAIN. Nathaniel, you're gonna have your time to shine on a different account, I can't do this again.

I'm suing Beemoov for emotional distress.

I find the 'best' way to go the Eric route without it feeling like cheating is to have him high enough where he'll kiss Sucrette. Dialogue is vague enough to leave it up to you if your Sucrette reciprocated or just stood there confused but as long as you tell your LI at the lodge, you will still break up (not sure if they need lower lom) and then you can be on the Eric route but it is really dumb you can not just break up before that.

Personally I think I'll just start another account, date someone I don't care about (Hyun) or that I just dislike in LL (Prya, which hurts my heart because I loved her so much) and just have my story with Eric.

Beemoov should have given more options:

- straight up cheat

- don't cheat cause you love your LI

- break up with your LI because you realize you fell in love with Eric WITHOUT PHYSICALLY CHEATING.

It wasn't difficult and it would have made the character more loved and the fandom less enraged because cheating would have been one of the options to be with him, not the only one, so it would have been 100% a choice.

Idk, but I'm not surprised Beemoov didn't handle this story well. It's Beemoov after all.

I finally started the Love Life season on MCL

And honestly... I hate the idea of cheating, but as someone who has had Castiel as a flirt ever since 2012... Jesus Christ, LL makes me want to cheat.

Castiel so far has been unbearable during this season (I've gone through 11 episodes so far) and he was also mostly absent for UL. I regret everything.

I honestly really like Eric, like REALLY, and in a normal setting I would have gone for him. If I had the possibility to break up with my LI and THEN go for Eric, I would have done it. But I won't be a cheating piece of shit.

That is the only beef I have with Beemoov/Eric

Nah I also think that but for me it's related to the coloring, that is done by a different person. I think the art is the best it's ever been, at least for the portraits (we haven't seen episode illustrations yet) but something is off about the skins especially how it's rendered. So it's sorta dull now, same remark for Eldarya's art but the art itself is the problem as well in here.

Idk about Eldarya cause my flirts were Valkyon and Ezarel so I stopped playing (I also hate the fact that we have lots of earth related stuff in the story. I played Eldarya for the fantasy element, so I'm extremely disappointed) but I do agree the problem is the coloring. As someone else pointed out I think it's all Chinomiko's work but for some reason she has changed her style. Her latest works all look like that. Unfortunately I do not like it and I think it looks lower quality compared to older stuff (I personally loved all of Love Life / University illustrations and sprites).

Also, the proportions look kinda... Off? Idk, the characters are supposed to be adults but they kinda look like teenagers who are playing in their parent's closet.

Maybe it's an unpopular opinion but the problem about the My Candy Love New Gen is not the character design, it's not the descriptions (we know beemoov doesn't have the best writers)... But it's the way they are drawn.

They ALL look like freaking Episode characters. And that's not cute at all.

The drawings look kinda... Flat? Too smooth? I don't know how to explain it other than... They look like Episode characters.

That's all.

Were the initial drawings of the OGs any better? No. But considering the quality we have today, I was expecting much better art. I don't know what happened, but these drawings are not cute. They are ok for a first draft, but if that's the final product... No thanks.

I was playing TO's episode where Lance kidnaps us... And I thought I would be a REALLY annoying hostage. "joke's on you, I love bondage, tie me harder coward", "your threats are useless. I WANT to be punished", "hit me harder dragon daddy". Also, I would randomly start singing tunes about dragon d*cks because I've got a rotten sense of humor and I'm basically 14.

I hate Erika so much. Tbh, Beemoov doesn't know how to write any character. Candy is just plain stupid, Erika is annoying and the one from ML changes personality based on the flirt, so wtf Beemoov.

Erika is a character badly built by the following facts:

We know that she is a mestizo, she is neither pure nor human, just a mixture of the two races (which makes her have two wings, not four, like Leiftan). That is, she is already starting to be much weaker, but Beemoov sells us the idea that she is “The Chosen of the Oracle”, this cannot be possible precisely because she is not the strongest, the most logical would be Oracle choose the Leiftan to represent the aengels. “He was a villain in the first season”, yes, but there is no record that the Oracle tried to bring him back to normal, the opposite of that: he instructed Erika to kill him. How could Erika kill a being far more powerful than herself? In the Episode 30 War, she lost to an ogre in two minutes of battle, how would she fight against a Pure Aengel?

Okay, let's go to her as a person now: when she arrives in Eldarya, her first reaction is to pay attention around and touch the crystal, Miiko arrives and sends her to the dungeons, then she leaves, finds some of the flirting, gets a guard , pet and room, all on the same day, and still fulfills mission. What kind of person is normal in such a situation? The least that a normal person would be, was to be in shock for a good few hours, because he was just teleported to another world, but Erika saw everything as if it were something normal?

Then in episodes 14, 15 onwards, she cries because she lost her parents, but did she regret this in the opening episodes? No, because I was running after a Crylasm and a Kappa.

Then we went to her relationship with the flirting. I do the route with Nevra, and I hate, yes, I HATE when the two of them interact. The reason? In the first season, when they date, there is no such thing as: trust. Nevra suspects numerous times that she hides something from him, the proof of which is that in one of the episodes, he insinuates that she is cheating on him with Leiftan, as if he were stating and not supposing. Then, during the night, she just forgives him, with a lame excuse.

Beemoov forced something else too: the fact that she and Leiftan were connected as soulmates. I hated it with all my strength, we are forced to endure that, if he dies, we die together, and I still route with another flirt, it is practically a three-way relationship.

Now, in the second season, we know that after losing Erika, Ezarel, Valkyon, Miiko and several other members of the Guard, with only Karenn and Chrome left, Nevra starts going out with several girls, while overcoming his girlfriend's death he didn't know she would come back. Huang Hua explains this to Erika shortly after she wakes up, and Erika herself says she would move on. Did she do that? Not.

When Nevra appears, she insinuates that he got over it very quickly and brings up the fact that, for her, they were in love for two days. Nevra went through post-traumatic stress, so obviously he wasn't going to hug her, maybe he didn't even realize that she woke up when he came back from the mission, because it's not normal to see someone awake, that someone being a dead person for seven years. Then he explains that he got over it and she thinks the same thing: I'm going to get over it. Did she get over it? No.

In the corridor scene, the same thing occurs, and she insinuates that it looks like they never dated, but it doesn't happen in her mind that she was practically dead, and dozens of people couldn't stop their lives just to wait for her to wake up from a coma. Honestly, I stopped playing that episode and came back two days later.

There are still Ezarel and Valkyon: Ezarel left and Valkyon died. Did Erika cry? No, she treated him as if he were normal and is still going to date Valkyon's brother, the same one who killed him and almost killed Ezarel.

It is another explosion: Erika sells with the image of "The Chosen One", but it is nothing more than a hindrance.

Alright. I kinda feel like there's no interesting love interest in New Era. I just want to say, that it is my opinion and of course, everyone can think the way the want!

So, in The Origins I found every LI interesting. Leiftan (he was my favourite), because of his mysterious personality and this whole trailor-plot later on, his parents, his guardians (I'm not sure if this is how you write it in english, oops) and his motives. My second favourite, Valkyon, also was an amazing character! I loved his opening up to Erika, his family plot, finding out he's a dragon - it was awesome route to play. Next, we have Ezarel, and, my Lord, I can say without hesitation his route was the most fun to play with! His backstory, his honey obsession, his funny nicknames. This find about not like to being touched (which was never explained, thanks a lot, Beemoov) and finally - his jokes. His fantastic teasing and this back-and-forth with Erika. And, we have Nevra. I adored that guy. He was funny, charming and unforgattable. His route was super cool, a bit awkward at times, but in a good way! And his dialogues, it was so funny!

But now? Well. We have Leiftan, Lance, Mathieu and Nevra. And, hm. I'm going to sound really mean, so, yeah. They are not interesting at all, at least for me. Leiftan? He looks way less attractive (sorry, bae, but that's the true - Beemoov made you look terrible), but that's not the main issue. For me, he's still a bit interesting. I'm curious about his backstory (I hope Beemoov will give me that), his relationship with Lance, etc. But, at the same time, he's just, a different character? Maybe only I think so, but I feel like he totally lost his personality, and I understand that he's feeling really guilty about that he's done and he probably going through a lot inside, but, now, I feel like he's so empty? I dunno. Maybe, it's because in The Origins there was this whole trailor/deamon plot, but at the same time, I chose Leiftan to be my LI without knowing he's a traitor - I was interested in him, but now, for some odd reason, it disapeared. Maybe, it's because Beemoov totally forgot about this whole soulmate thing? (what I mean is: in spin off, he tells us how much he waited for "Erika" to come, how much he adored her, ect, ect, and it's just weird that the completely gave up on it) I dunno, he's just, different in New Era. Lance - alright, I totally hate him, but he's the most interesting route, I give you that. He still doesn't make me super intrested, but I am curious about him, his route and stuff (but I'm pretty sure Beemoov will ruin it by rushing things off), so yeah. Mathieu, oh, Lord. I mean, I don't mind him being a human (I know some people do, and that's okay, it's a fantasy game after all), but he's just, for me (remember, this whole post is my opinion!), so boring. Only thing that interests me it this "him being a traitor" headcanon (I re-blog it a few days ago), but it's just a speculation and it would've been a huge rip-off of The Origins, so I dunno. He's kinda boring to me, sorry. Maybe, later on in the story, he'll turn out to be interesting. The last one, Nevra - omg. I totally feel like he lost his charm. I adored Nevra in TO (I loved every single LI in The Origins, tbh) and now, I miss him. He's no longer this flirty, funny vampire. You could say that he "grew up" or "got mature", but that doesn't work for me, I really liked him back then. Really. And, how come he didn't pick up on this whole "movie thing" in episode 4? (When Erika tells him, that the scene was like from the movie), I mean he was the master in flirts and talking to girls, how couldn't he pick up on this? She literally, straight up said r-o-m-a-n-t-i-c. I dunno, maybe I have unrealistic ideas/expectations.

I miss "Ezarel's personality" (I miss Ezarel in general). I miss different body types, different personalities, different backstory. Now, what we have? Flirty, but stupid human, "mature" and a bit awkward vampire, quiet daemon that broke up with us for some reason and hm, hard-to-understand dragon. Nice.
