Show me a medical form on the planet that confuses absolutely no one and you can have your first point. Forms need to be easily understood but first and foremost they need to be accurate representations of the information they are seeking. That is why, like I said, medical forms are never given to a patient without some way for them ask questions and clarify information.
Is it only when the form helps trans people that you have a problem? There are plenty of people who for non trans related reasons wouldn't have these organs, are they gender fucked too? Do you just get to pretend they don't exist because you hate trans people enough?
Also, you are completely ignoring my point that there are people involved in the medical process that will have no interaction with the patient and still need accurate information, but that's y'all's usual way of doing things so saw that coming. This won't change the fact that information needs to be communicated to medical personnel that will never talk to the patient and that medical information needs to be accurate.
I'm not sure what your obsession is with "meat sack collection of random body parts". Why does acknowledging the existence of organs make you disgusted? Do you think doctors mark up a chart like "This divine person has these holy organs that are fully in tandem and have no distinction"? No, thats why we have specialists for individual systems of organs and even specialists for specific organs. Pretending that acknowledging a human as a body made of organs is a disgusting transgression is fucking insane. You may not just be a collection of your organs, but as far as the medical world has been concerned that is what you have always been. That's not a political thing, that's just how practicing medicine has worked since at least the 1900s.
Also, it's fucking rich being called selfish by someone who needs medical forms to reassure her every step of the way at the cost of accurate information. You make it very clear that your arguments have nothing to do with improving medicine and that every criticism is just an expression of anger that the medical community might be respecting people you would rather have marked as freaks.
this is a way better model... you'll still get transphobic & intersexist drs of course but i prefer this to male / female or even having separate questions for gender & sex.
[we can't see the full form, but i'd suggest having a "something else" option and dominant hormone question too.]
1. There is no situation in which someone is handed this form and doesn't have an opportunity to ask clarifying details of the person giving it to them. In what universe do you live in which you can't just ask questions about what elements of a form mean? Or where a medical professional is not going to go over the responses of a form with you whether it's complicated or not? Literally all of medicine is concerned with "informed consent" and making sure people understand what they are saying and agreeing to. Anything else is the literal legal definition of malpractice.
2. Male and female bodies do have different needs and these needs vary wildly between people of the same sex and will be massively affected by any surgery or hormones they are taking. Acting like every other part of a person's medical history matters less than their sex is the sort of batshit insane take you make when your concern is not with medical accuracy but punishing those you deem as different from you.
3. This is absolutely how medicine works. The slow progress of medical science is collecting more and more detailed information so we can tailor care to the individual as we find that new information is needed, not the box you've decided the individual should be thrown into. Raging at medical forms that ask direct, unambiguous questions is anti medical science. Forms like this will make sure that no assumptions are being made about a patient's medical history before a doctor meets them. They'll also make sure medical personnel down the line who won't meet with the patient directly but will have a great affect on the patient's well being such as pharmacists who have the ability to halt a prescription if they feel it would negatively affect the patient or a lab tech whose diagnosis based on samples will determine whether or not a patient is diagnosed with a potentially life altering disease. Simply marking man or woman and hiding major medical changes in the medical history section, away from the patients main information, leads to issues made by people making assumptions.
There is no reason to be this angry about unambiguous medical language on an intake form. You are letting your personal biases prevent you from seeing logic and you're making up fake arguments you either don't actually believe in or haven't actually thought through.
