CALL FOR POC WRITERS AND POETS. I believe in the phrase, “Take space, make space.” As Editor in Chief of The Janus Journal, an independent publishing platform, I understand the importance of having a diversity of voices on a particular topic. However, this is a time when us white, privileged classes must step aside and let our POC brothers and sisters take the stage to discuss the issues affecting THEM. This is not a social media bid, nor is a selfish marketing campaign. It’s simply giving whoever would like to access our platform and use their voice the opportunity to with welcoming hands. If you are a POC and have something to say about George Floyd, the recent protests, police brutality, underlying racism/discrimination in America/the world, growing up black, please know that your thoughts and voices are welcome here at The Janus Journal. We are putting up an impromptu call for submissions on this topic, pieces can be between 500-1500 words in length and poetry is also welcome. Deadline is flexible, but as soon as you send in your piece we will expedite your publishing process (only grammatical edits). You can email your submissions to [email protected]. Please contact me (hemingsways) if you have any questions. This isn’t about us. This is about you. This is about the past, the present, and our future.
