introducing MALAYA FLORENTINO, a TWENTY-FOUR year old working as a MUSICIAN in the beautiful city of las vegas !

hi honeybees!! i’m ANTONEA and i’m super, super excited to be here ! this group is so big and i’m a lil intimidated, but from the brief amount of stalking i’ve done on the main, everyone seems so welcoming ! but i’m going to say a bit about malaya because i honestly love her so much !

malaya (or mal or laya or may) is a musician from toronto, and she lived there up until recently, so she’s new to the states and las vegas! she moved to vegas mostly because she didn’t think she would like living in los angeles and even if she needs to go it’s only like an hour flight.

her music career started when she was nineteen, and like a lot of small musicians, she started on soundcloud! she went to a community college in toronto so when she wasn’t in class or doing homework, she was writing music and meeting with a friend in a local studio. about a year into her music career she started to blow up on soundcloud and she released her first ep titled confidently, which propelled her career even more. so, after the success of that ep, she began to release two more eps both with a year between them titled malaya and broken dreams respectively.

literally all of her songs are written by herself and there’s usually only like one song that has a featured writer, but that’s about it. so, after the success of her eps, she released her debut album titled rhythm & blues exclusively for free through soundcloud and spotify.

not only does she sing but she’s also into dance as well as playing the piano and guitar. obviously dance it’s super important to her, but it’s one of her favorite things to do.

so, while she is successful in toronto and some parts of the us, she wanted to expand more which explains her move to las vegas. she does shows around the city as a way to help her get more acquainted to the music scene so she’s been here for a couple of months.

about her personality, malaya is kind of chill, but very driven. she talks about her music a lot, and it can sometimes be too much, but that’s mostly because she’s so passionate about it. she’s very charming and charismatic, but she’s also pretty graceless (especially when drunk) and she’s really, really opinionated so talking about anything that requires an opinion will literally lead to her talking your ear off.

her relationships with her parents is really great, especially since they never forced their career choices on her. her mom’s an emergency medicine physician and her dad is a cardiothoracic surgeon and even though they would have liked for her to follow in their footsteps and go into medicine, they always knew that wasn’t who their daughter was as she’s been creative since she could walk and talk.

a couple of plots from my connections page (which can be found here) that i would really love are high school crush, an ex affair, frenemies, love/hate relationship, and ex best friends! all of the plots on my connections page are just starting points, and if there’s anything that you have in mind, i’m 100% down for it!

i’m super happy to be here once again, and it’s really late for me, so i’ll send messages for plotting/answer any messages about plotting in the morning! thanks for having me here and i can’t wait to get to know all of you and your amazing characters! ♡ ♡
