Conducting a literature review
Creating the literature review involves the stages of scanning, making notes, structuring the literature review, writing the literature review, and building a bibliography.
All research needs to be informed by existing knowledge in a subject area.
The literature review identifies and organizes the concepts in the relevant literature.
The process associated with the production of a literature review includes:
Evaluating information sources
Searching and locating formation resources
Developing conceptual frameworks and mind mapping
Writing the literature review
A literature review summarizes the state of the art in that subject field.
The concluding paragraphs should lead to the research propositions and methodologies.
There are several different ways of going about gathering information:
Start from one document and use any suitable terms from the document to retrieve other documents.
Retrieve a few documents quickly; this is a good starting point.
Take the concepts in search statements and extend them by using synonyms and related words.
Create a mind map to identify key concepts in a collection of documents or research area.
Building a bibliography is an ongoing process from the beginning of the literature search until its completion.

Final Research Questions
What history does 3D have? How was it initially created and how long did the process take?
How would the visual elements contribute to the narrative and style of the environment?
What platform would the game/environment be presented in depending on the programs that were used to create it and would that effect the software that the player/viewer would use? Would the hardware be strong enough to support the game and would they be able to afford it depending on the price range of the game/environment?

Green Research Questions
Summary
The research questions are an essential part of a research project, yet many researchers find it difficult to identify a topic worth researching. A research question or problem provides a direction for the project, it defines the course of investigation and it sets boundaries on the type of research that will be carried out. A research question must be researchable and interesting enough for the researcher to stay motivated through out the duration of the project and it should also be interesting and relevant for the research community. The research question should be feasible, therefore the researcher should be able to provide an answer within the timeframe and with the resources of a specific project, considering the costs, time and skills of the researchers undertaking the project. The research question should also be ethical, clearly defined, and answerable. Initially, the researcher must write down every question that comes to mind to consider every possible direction the research could take. They should also search for sources that could generate even more questions. Then, they must narrow down the list to those that are the most relevant and evoke the most interest. The questions can also be combined and they should be refined whilst considering the main objectives. The formulation of a research question will determine what form the project will take and how every element will be considered and planned, including the background to the problem. It will determine the methodological approach, the methods of data collection and its analysis. Once the research question has been formulated and refined, a more formal review of literature often follows to re-examine the foundation which the research question is build on. In conclusion, the research question is often only completed when the data derived from research provide answers to the questions posed.

Adapting the style of Lord of the Rings into a 3D environment.
Research Questions:
Has the style of Lord of the Rings been adapted to a 3D game or environment yet?
How long would it take to create the models and then put them into the scene?
How would the audience perceive the fantasy style?
Would it be easy to implement considering I have no experience in 3D environments and minimal experience in 3D modelling?
Why should I use a certain brand of hardware over another when creating the game/environment?
Why would the game be lighter on console rather than pc?
What are the hurdles to issue a game in terms of payments to create/ release the game?
What type of platform would I use as certain programs such as Maya do not allow cross platform play?
Would I implement paywalls, would it effect the gameplay?
Can it be played on different software? e.g., apple, Linux, windows.
How much impact does the game have on the hardware, would it be strong enough for the game.
What controls would be implemented to make it easy to play the game?
What lighting would compliment the style of Lord of the Rings?
What specific scene would be best suited for this project?
Would I include any 3D characters into the scene?
What effect does gaming have on mental and physical health?
What emotions would the environment evoke within the viewer?
What background does 3D have?
How were 3D environment initially created?
Would I use my own models and textures to create the environment?
What narrative would the environment express and how?
How would the style be implemented into the environment?
Would the style show in the models themselves, in the textures used or in the environment?
What sound could be implemented to further evoke a certain mood within the environment?
Would I be able to use any primary sources as inspiration for the layout of the environment?
Where could I go to gather photographic research to gather primary sources as inspiration?
Are there any movies that could inspire me further?
What problems would I face during the modelling process?
Would I be able to overcome these problems with the knowledge I have?
How would the environment be presented, using what program and would it include background music and animated elements?

Simians, Cyborgs, and Woman.
Summary
This book is a collection of ten essays about the inventions and re-invention of nature. In chapter one, when Haraway talks about simians, she describes how biologists compare the behaviour of monkeys and apes to the behaviour of our ancestors. She shows us how scientists gather and interpret evidence about animal behaviour then create assumptions based on certain hypotheses about the origins of human behaviour. Haraway’s example explains how the role of dominance in monkey groups was inspired by the hunter and gatherer hypothesis. She focuses on the work of Clarence Ray Carpenter to further explain her thoughts on the subject.
