Mostly! The Iblis Trigger stuff is complicated, since it's from Sonic 06, which heavily features time travel- everything is confusing with time travel.
Large chunk of 06 plot below, so TLDR: Most of this is right, but a bit of it's stuff from SA2, with Sonic getting mistaken for Shadow. Long-ass breakdown of who Mephiles and Iblis are.
Okay, so yes- The deity is Solaris, and the duke of Soleanna tried to do some experiments to bring his dead wife back to life, which led to Solaris being split into two halves, Iblis of the flame and Mephiles the Dark. Iblis is the power, a mindless, immortal creature that just destroys everything around it without purpose. Mephiles is the mind, a master manipulator schemer with the big overarching plan, who wants nothing more than to be reunited with his missing half.
Now, Iblis is, as you noted, VERY DANGEROUS, so when the duke split them, he sealed Iblis into his little girl, Elise. Because of this, she has to contain herself and her emotions- if she cries (or dies), Iblis will escape. Shadow is also there due to time travel, and seals Mephiles in an ancient relic (the magical girl wand).
The stuff with Shadow is where you're getting a touch mixed up- I think you're mixing together stuff from 06, which is the Iblis trigger stuff, with Sonic Adventure 2, his first appearance.
SA2, has Sonic be hunted down by the military after being mistaken for Shadow, who at the time is doing the evil things due to his traumatic backstory (which I can also explain, if you want, but it'll probably spoil the third movie some).
In 06, though, Mephiles gets released in the present day when the wand gets broken, and takes a form resembling Shadow due to merging with his... well, shadow. This is also prior to Shadow sealing him in Shadow's timeline of events, so Mephiles knows Shadow, but Shadow doesn't know Mephiles just yet.
Due to that, Mephiles is trying to sway Shadow onto his side, and so reveals in the future, humanity sealed Shadow away because they were afraid of him (also using one of his teammates to do so, which is an extra gut-punch). He wasn't blamed for Iblis specifically, but he's the Ultimate Lifeform, and people were scared of him, so even though he swore to protect them, they turned on him.
Sonic got involved because he rescued Elise, and they become friends. Meanwhile, in the future where Silver is from, Mephiles (who Silver does not know is a bad guy) tells him that Sonic is the Iblis Trigger, and if he kills him, the apocalypse won't happen. So, that's why Silver is after Sonic for a while, but eventually they do figure it out.
And because Mephiles is a massive drama queen, he didn't *technically* lie. He shows up and kills Sonic (yes, actually kills him, don't worry it doesn't stick), which leads Elise to cry- thus releasing Iblis. So, he technically *was* the Iblis trigger.
That's a lot of lore, but hope that helps you understand! Let me know if you want to know anything else, yeah?
Yo, this? This is my territory. You showed me the stuffs for Mr L, just let me know whatever questions you got for Sonic lore and I can explain. Been a Sonic fan since.....gosh, '03, where does the time go
Oh Good! Okay okay so this is what I think I've gathered so far? Iblis is one half of a god that a royal family attempted to control through science(tm). The experiment went kablooey and the god got split up into two halves:
Iblis (big scary fire demon who can't die and causes the end of the wold)
Memphis Tennessee (the gamer)
Iblis got locked inside the king's daughter, Elise, but will be released into the real world if she cries or dies. Memphis Tennessee got locked into a magical girl wand.
Also at some point Shadow got blamed for Iblis' release? which meant Sonic got mistaken for Shadow? But it was really Memphis Tennessee who looks like Shadow who was to blame? Honestly I have no idea how the hedgehogs got tied into it, I just know one of them got blamed for being The Iblis Trigger and Silver is going after them to try and prevent the apocalypse.
Am I correct? Do I have this right?

This is probably a dumb question, but with the show release date coming closer, I was wondering about how the free trial acts. Is using that, and canceling before they can collect any money a viable option, or is it all about the traffic and I need to find a pirate site that won't destroy my computer? I'll do whatever I need to do for the sake of supporting Palestine, but I don't know if the trial would hurt them or not (and I'm really, really sorry if this is something I should already know, but I don't, and the only way to learn is to ask)
Paramount, Palestine, and This Blog
With the Knuckles series rapidly approaching, I feel it necessary to make a statement about how we will handle media created by Paramount. I have endeavored to keep this account dedicated exclusively to Sonic reference photos. However, as this issue is directly related to a piece of Sonic media, it has become relevant here.
For any who are not aware, Paramount Pictures, the company behind the Sonic movies, released a statement last year expressing their support for Israel and its "right to defend itself." As you probably know by now, Israel's idea of "defending itself" is committing genocide. I won't go into detail here (that is definitely out of this blog's field), but I would recommend doing your own research if you aren't aware of the atrocities happening at the hands of Israel right now. Needless to say, companies publicly supporting genocide is unacceptable; which brings us to the echidna in the room.
Many Sonic fans, myself included, have been looking forward to the Knuckles series. But, given the situation, supporting Paramount by subscribing to Paramount+ to watch Knuckles (or anything else) is not something I can condone.
I would like to humbly request that anyone who reads this avoid watching Knuckles through Paramount+. Please either watch it through "unofficial" channels, or abstain from watching it at all. Show Paramount that we will not ignore genocide.
And now, we return to the reference photos. I have thought long and hard about how to approach Sonic cinematic universe references. On one hand, giving publicity to the SCU will encourage people to watch Paramount media; on the other, refusing to post references will force people to collect their own. In the end, I have decided to approach SCU media similarly to Sonic Speed Simulator (albeit for very different reasons): I will post references, but all Paramount related posts will include a disclaimer condemning Paramount's support of Israel. I will also prioritize non-SCU refs, although you are all welcome to request any SCU characters you would like pictures of.
This is a difficult situation, and I welcome feedback on how best to continue. I ask that everyone remains civil in the notes. If anything changes, I will be sure to let you know.
Stay safe

Honestly? I don't remember 😅 It was a while ago, and it might not be there anymore- it was back before the second set of Prime episodes dropped, I think????? But I remember it was Gale saving Sails from the ocean, and Sails saving him back in their first meeting. The notes linked to a post where you had said that was how they met that they had been inspired by, which led to the artwork, and I got invested. Sorry, I know that's not much help...

Honestly, looking at this scene again, I find it intriguing that Sonic Battle marks the only time we ever saw Sonic breaking emotionally in the games.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but even in cases like Shahra's death, Sonic still retained some of his composure despite being full of rage, hatred and sadness.
Considering Sonic's hatred for sadness, Battle's ending becomes very interesting in hindsight.

That’s Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. That’s because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.
