This part is so wild to me because at this point in the movie it hasn't even been a full 24 hours yet since they were separated.

Poor guy probably has NO idea what he's supposed to do without his brother around. Imagine a part of you just goes missing and how cognizant you'd be of that missing part until you get it back. This is literally the first time in his entire life where Luigi isn't within arm's reach and he is STRESSED.

These boys absolutely have separation anxiety by the end of this film

It doesn't even matter that the movie revealed Mario's parents and family.

Because at the end of the day, the Bros do truly only have each other. Yes, they do have other family members to show them love - but nothing compares to the bond that these Bros have.

From day one of their lives, they have had each other to fall back on. They really are each other's other half. No other face, loving touch, or words can truly get across to them in the same way as when they do it to each other.

Ok but the SPEED Mario was going at to catch Luigi as he fell towards the lava -

What must Mario have been feeling when he saw that?!

How would he have felt after if he had failed?? 🥺

He didn't even give a crap if he was going to get beat up! All he saw in that moment was Luigi getting picked on.

And Mario saw red.
