Okay folks, I finally got around to watching Inazuma Eleven Go. And it’s... great. If by great you mean so bonkers you can only stan it.

Season 1 started off pretty... um... Well, it’s middle schoolers using Jojo stands to play soccer. Would I call this normal? No. Would I call this normal according to anime standards? Absolutely.

But then I started season 2. Oh... Season 2.

In season 2’s first THREE episodes:

-all of the main character’s friends forget about his existence

-the main character was transported back in time. And he watched the like 4 year old version of himself f*cking dying???? This is a kids’ show????? Like 2 minutes later they said he actually survived but like??? They showed planks falling on him and then there was a cut and the planks were FULLY touching the ground. I’m sorry but there is no way that kid was okay. He’s a pancake now.

-oh and some guys are dressed like aliens??? Why???

-apparently they’re time travelers and not aliens. My bad.

-there is a talking teddy bear. Everyone seems a little surprised but no one really questions it.

-a random guy who works in a local restaurant gets kidnapped and mind-controlled REPEATEDLY just so he can comment a soccer match

-1 character has the power to create like 10 copies of himself. They’re all him, but they all look like different people. How? Who knows. My bet is either on “it’s the same principle as the God/Jesus/Holy Spirit trinity” or asexual reproduction

-the Jojo stands can turn into glowing armors now. This makes the characters better at soccer.

-the characters went back in time to get the main character from the original anime. I feel like this actually makes sense because he’s the ONLY person besides the current MC who could be teleported by some guys who tell him they’re from the future and stop questioning it the second somebody talks about soccer. My only complaint is that they told two people from that time they were from the future, and absolutely didn’t wipe their memories afterwards. So they would definitely have talked about it??? Like bro?? Who gets visited by people from the future and then go “oh yes, this is perfectly normal, time to move on with our lives and play more soccer”. ... Actually, these people. I take back what I said, it makes perfect sense.

-oh also the villains just have a fucking OVNI now.

-in the opening the previous main characters almost all disappeared. Like... They literally just went up in flames, leaving the main MC alone. This feels highly traumatizing

-there’s a bus from the future that is for no apparent reason shaped exactly like the bus the MCs used to travel in in season 1. Except this one can fly and travel through time. Of course

-people are coming from 200 years in the future. They want to erase soccer to save their future or something. Paradox, is that you?

-soccer eugenism. SOCCER EUGENISM. Do I need to explain? Should I?

-one of the characters fused with a fucking T-rex to become stronger at soccer. I’m so tired
