So I'm going in for a hysto consult in early December. I've been emailing the people I want for my metaoidioplasty, and they say that a hysto must be done at least 6 months before meta. Assuming I can get the hysto in Jan-Feb, that means I'll (physically) be ready to get meta in July-Aug. Any tips on coping with the dysphoria til then?
Hey Anon,
I have no idea how to cope with bottom dysphoria as personally mines fluctuates between dissociating and 'man kinda wish I had a dick'
but packing more (if you don't pack heaps already) or wearing your packer (or a sock) to bed to deal with it then.
otherwise I'm afraid I'm unsure,
good luck though !! hope the surgery goes well and clear !

Whoops I suppose that Tumblr ate my ask. I was wondering if you knew about other trans dudes who don't experience much bottom dysphoria.... I don't feel a sense of wrongness as much as a... disassociation from it? I don't see it and go "this is a woman body part" I see it and just think "this is a slab of flesh attached to my body but it isn't mine." I'm not articulating it right fully, but have you heard of anything like that? I haven't really seen it anywhere and I just wanted to know...
hey anon,
I get that exactly !
I don't see it as a v****a but more of just it's there ....
it's as if we've dissociated ourselves from it so that seeing it or recognising it jsut becomes numb ?
you're not alone !! :)

I'm so sorry I didn't see your post about not taking asks about dysphoria anymore, feel free to not answer it if it makes you feel uncomfortable.
hey friend, I didn't actually receive any ask but I'm happy to answer asks about dysphoria just nothing that says 'tell me if I'm trans / am I trans'
'is this dysphoria' is a different thing :)

So I bought the binder... now I wait to face the questions from my parents, and me probably coming out. Im really scared because my dad is slightly transphobic and my mother wants me to be very girly.
Hey anon,
Good luck and be careful. Ask to see if any of your friends would mind you staying for a few nights incase things go bad ? I'm not saying they will, just it's always nice to be prepared for a plan a, b and c.
anyway, bind safely and this is exciting !! first binder is always so fun!

I've been waiting to buy a binder because I know I have to have it shipped to my house. What are some things I could say the binder is when it comes in the mail that doesnt raise suspicion? (Its tough my parents are nosy and im in the closet)
Hey anon,
if you get the tank version you could pass it off as a singlet, the half version doesn't *really* look like a bra at all so it'll be hard to pass that off.
Also be wary of wearing it around your parents- they will notice a sudden change, especially if your big chested.
good luck anon ! hope I somewhat helped, but be careful, especially if you think your parents are transphobic !!
and don't bind longer than 10hours a day, be careful binding and never sleep in it !

It's been five years since I started publicly identifying as trans, and I have yet to tell my parents. The trouble is, I think they know, but they want me to come out to them instead of them talking to me. I've been in this limbo ever since I moved out, and it's stopping me from looking into hormones and top surgery. Do you have any advice on what you think I should do? Thanks for reading.
Hey anon,
send them a message or a letter just explaining it maybe ? it's much easier to send a text that it is to tell then in person sometimes.
it doesn't need to be super detailed of you don't want, but leave room for them to ask questions if they want.
goodluck !!

I've been wanting to come out for a few months... by I haven't got the guts to my family. I have a doctors appointment in a week, should I mention being trans to my doctor and see what she has to say?
Hey anon,
coming out is a very scary thing, I can understand your hesitation and fear. Try and come out to your doctor ! It might be a nice start. unfortunately I don't have many tips since you're doing it in person and i have almost no experience with that, but I do wish you luck!!

Does anyone else hate being referred to as "female to male transgender " ? Cause everytime some one does, it makes me cringe on the inside.
Hey anon,
to me, I don't mind ftm but female to make does make me cringe a little, which is understandable.
I'm sure plenty of people do it, so you're not alone !

Is it normal that I used to have little to no bottom dysphoria, but after starting a relationship with my boyfriend, it suddenly hits? Because its hitting bad, and I hate that im slightly jealous of him being cis and it makes me feel guilty
Hey anon,
i believe that's normal, and I can see why it would spike up after getting a boyfriend too. There's no need to feel guilty about being jealous, it's happens to all of us.
And you're not gonna take it away from him ahahah. We all feel jealous about things as a human response, so feeling guilty doesn't help anyone, it just kinda hurts you.

I have been thinking about coming out to my professors at college. However, being in a culinary program, the classes (and chefs) change every 5 weeks. Is there even a point to coming out if I'm in a class for so little time? I need some outside perspective
Hey anon,
i would recommend telling the main program people about it to maybe change your name on the roll or roster (or whatever it's called) so that you don't need to come out every few weeks.
But even so, it's totally worth coming out to every professor (if you're ready) just to give yourself some comfort and relief. It might make your classes a little more enjoyable.

CW Shark Week and probably TMI!!! So I know that blockers eventually stop "shark week" but other than that I dont remember any mention of them making things last longer?? It's been like two days over my regular and I don't know if/when to be concerned??? Any advice?
Hi anon,
this may seem worrying but it's normal for your shark week to be irregular once on blockers or hormones, including being longer than usual.
if it becomes too worrisome I would advise checking with your doctor, but if it's just longer than there shouldnt be too much issue (other than dysphoria)
but yes, until they cease shark week can become longer, shorter or irregular.

the full name masterlist is here, but I would also suggest going through baby name sites that are popular now as well as in the year you were born.
Make a list then keep going through it until you find the right name. :)

YO! Pre T lads, to make your voice deeper try humming as low as you can and massage your neck. Also try looking up and humming low and then look down and your voice should deepen so you can try and get that tone again 💕

hey all
just so you know I've changed the name of this blog to suit it a bit more - it was originally 'villa-trans' but I decided 'masctrans-adv' was a bit more relevant. if anyone has complaints or requests for the blog name I'm happy to take it onboard - this blog is for masc trans people after all !!
