Idea that won’t leave me alone: one of those Bruce adopts all his kids as Tinies AUs where toddler Jason is two and his favorite person in the WORLD is his big brother. But he’s just barely learning to talk so when he says his brother’s name…in comes out as “Ick.”
Leading to—
Jason: Icky!! Icky!
Four-year-old Dick Grayson: I’M NOT ICKY!
Jason, insistently: ICKY!
Dick, getting progressively more upset: STOP CALLING ME ICKY!
Jason: No! Icky!
Dick: No! YOU’RE icky!
And escalating until they’re both crying—Dick because Jason won’t stop calling him icky. Jason because his big brother won’t play with him.
This happens at least once a day. Bruce is so tired.

werewolf partner who is terrified of turning around you because they're not sure how much control they'll lack in wolf-form. They make you chain them up in the basement, lock the door, and arm yourself with a gun just in case. Finally the time comes, and you're ready. You expect to hear growling and thrashing, or some sort of vicious struggle. But you only hear faint whimpers. You decide to go downstairs to see what's up, and there you find them, in their wolf form - ears back, head down, looking sad and scared. You approach, and still, no aggression.
After a few moments, you even decide to sit next to them. They lean in cautiously to sniff you, their eyes lighting up as they seem to recognize your scent. They immediately scoot over and lay their gigantic head in your lap, still whimpering and shaking - clearly seeking comfort from you. You expected a ferocious monster from how they'd warned you, but instead, you essentially got a giant puppy. You gently stroke and cuddle your werewolf until they fall asleep on you. Exhausted from all the previous excitement, and not wanting to leave them scared and alone, you fall asleep too. You're awoken in the morning by them - back in human form - shaking you in a panic. They found you lying next to them in a pile of fur, and thought that something had happened - that you were dead. They're glad to be wrong, as you rub the sleep from your eyes. When they find out what all actually happened, they're extremely relieved, but a little embarrassed.

We don't talk enough about how absolutely devastating and romantic and hot the idea is that Astarion would know the scent of your blood anywhere.
How quickly he would notice when you've even the slightest of nics? When, no matter how focused on anything else he might be at the time, he always comes to check it out?
You'll be peeling a piece of apple with your pocket knife when it slips in your grip. The sharp edge of the blade slices a shallow cut into the meat of your thumb, and you inhale sharply through your nose even though it barely hurts at all. Instinct has you sucking your injured digit into your mouth with a soft curse– the sweet juice of the fruit you were snacking on quickly overpowered by the metallic twang of blood.
You nearly jump out of your skin when he appears over you not a moment later. He makes some offhand comment about how careless you are. Takes hold of your injured hand and tuts like he intends to tease, but he isn't fooling anyone.
He stands so close, jaw ticking as he clenches his teeth, a tension in his shoulders that tells you he's doing everything in his power to keep composure. Your blood calls to him like a moth to a flame, and as funny as you find it in the moment, you don't have the heart to tease him for it. It's actually kind of endearing.
He'd only get quicker in noticing as time passes.
Especially after you've been traveling together for a few years, and he's come to know your scent better than his own. Which only makes sense considering how often he's got his nose pressed to some part of you. (He thinks you smell good.)
At this point, when you get injured in battle, he often catches the fragrance before you've even processed that you've been hit.
He'd suck in a sharp breath through his teeth– a hiss so loud that it catches your attention just enough for you to spare him a glance as you fight.
It's all you need to see just how blown his pupils are from where you're standing, mostly because his gaze is laser locked onto you to second you search for him. His movements turn faster. Deadlier, as he scans the field before you. Determined. Hungry. Angry. He's searching for the sorry wretch that dared to get the best of you– that dared spill even a drop of his beloved's precious blood upon the soil.
You've already taken them down, of course. Poor sap might have gotten a good dig in at your shoulder, but ultimately didn't stand a chance once he properly pissed you off.
Astarion's eyes go heavy.
Half-lidded in that special way of his and only darkening further as he appraises you. You can practically feel it as he follows the line of your throat, zeroes in on your pulse point for a moment, before settling to watch the warm crimson that's beginning to soak into the sleeve of your tunic.
You see a bit of concern in those eyes, but then he sees your smile and– A flash of hot, honeyed desire catches you by surprise.
You suddenly can't tell if it's just the blood loss making you woozy or if he's about to make you swoon like a maiden from an old romance novel. You try (and fail) to keep a straight face when he sinks his dagger into his final opponent's neck without so much as a glance their way.
There's a splash of red against pale white skin, and a lifeless body dropping to the grass by his feet. Your heart stutters in your chest, and he all but moans in response to the sound of it. A mere four paces and he's on you– hands and teeth and tongue exploring every inch of your exposed skin, ripping open parts of your armor to gain better access, like you're not stood in a field of gore and ruin and freshly spilled blood.
You cling to him like a lifeline.
Before he drags you away to camp– to a warm tent and a soft bedroll where he can have his way with you for as long as you and your mortal body will allow him– he has you down a potion of healing or two.
And it's a good thing one of you has a Lesser Restoration spell handy somehow, cause you're most definitely gonna need it.

Astarion smiles when he kisses you. You can always tell as you feel his lips rise up against yours and his fangs start to graze against you, that he’s smiling. And when you pull apart you’re met with the same toothy, lovesick grin that was just shaped against your lips.

𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐌 𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆
Tumblr media
Pairing: Astarion x GN!Reader
Summary: when Astarion wakes up, you are still with him. And this is something new for him.
Tumblr media
When Astarion opened his eyes, the first rays of the sun of a new day were softly touching his face, filtering through the tent where he had spent the night.
Instinctively he raised a hand with long, thin fingers to cover his eyes struck by the sudden light, then thought better of it.
He didn't want to spend another moment the way he'd spent the last two hundred of his life: hiding from the light, running away from it.
The sun was rising in the distance, coloring the camp in many shades of yellow and orange in a sight that Astarion had gone years without being able to admire like that.
He dropped his hand to his pillow, not yet getting up and let the rays kiss his pale skin like they hadn't in too long a time.
He had almost forgotten what it felt like, it was unsusual for him but it immediately made him feel a warm feeling that he would have liked to get used to.
When the light moved, he sat down with an almost disappointed expression on his face.
“You look like one of those cats that chases warm spots as the sun moves.”
His head snapped in the direction of your voice and he only realized then that you were still in his tent sitting a few steps away from him with a book in your hands.
That was another thing he wasn't remotely used to and it almost scared him every time you did it. Finding you still there in the morning, knowing that what you wanted wasn't just what happened between you two at night but also in daylight - in every meaning - was new and frightening for him, even if he wasn’t going to admit it so easily.
It wasn't the first time in the morning that he found you in his tent; usually we were still curled up next to his body, with your head on his chest or worse, with his head on your chest and his arms around you as if he didn't want to let you go either.
The thing that blew his mind this time, was not your sarcastic comment that he would usually have at least thirty ways to respond to, but was the fact that what you were wearing didn't belong to you.
You grinned. “Have I offended you so much that you have nothing to say?”
You closed the book you were reading and looked at him with a smirk. Astarion suppressed the urge to reach out and kiss you in a second.
"Maybe I don't want anything to do with thieves. I see that what you're wearing belongs to someone else, my dear."
You looked at the white shirt you had put on as if it were the first time you had seen it and you hadn't taken it from Astarion's tent.
“I couldn't find my stuff” You shrugged “your shirt was the first thing I found.”
Astarion stared at the way his clothes looked on you and found himself thinking that it was a scene he wanted to witness again and again, a scene more beautiful than the rising sun he hadn't seen for two centuries.
You stood up slowly, stretching. You probably hadn't been awake that long either.
He didn't know that you had seen the way the sun passed through his white hair, brightening the messy locks with a silver light that made you want to run your fingers through them for the rest of the day that had just begun. That when he was still asleep you wanted to sit next to him and make his sun-kissed lips meet yours.
“I suggest you find another shirt” You pointed at his bare chest with your finger, “I'm going to keep this one for a while. It smells like you.”
With those last words you left the tent with a light smile on your lips, leaving Astarion speechless once again.
He found himself thinking that feeling the sun on his skin wasn't the only nice, warm feeling he'd felt lately.

You know what we as a collective don't talk enough about, imho? Ruffling Astarion's hair.
Just going over to him, talking to him and then leaving by putting a hand on his head and fully ruining his perfectly coiffed locks, making him curse you.
This works a few times until he learns to expect it and dodges your naughty little gremlin paw (while hissing and cursing at you profusely).
So you find new ways to do it. Sneaking up on him from behind for example or in the middle of a conversation.
Or you just do it, when you cosily lay together - much softer then of course. Softly tugging on single strands of his hair.
Astarion starts to really get used to it as a sign of your love for him. No one has ever shown him affection in a way like this before.
And he might still curse you whenever you ruffle his hair, but you see his happy smile - and honestly he'd be much more offended now if you didn't do it.

It's literally so funny that I wasn't thinking and wrote about giving Astarion silver jewelry. It's something i could see Tav doing. Imagine buying it for him just because you think it's pretty? Coming back to camp all proud about it, and he's cautiously holding it in his palm like, "Love, is this real silver?"
And you're like :D "maybe?" And at first, he thinks it ISNT because he touches all over it, puts it on eventually, and it doesn't do anything to hurt him. The two of you nearly forget about it altogether. But then post-tadpole you chase after him on the docks to find him curled up in the shade, hiding away, with the necklace thrown off to the side and scorch marks on his skin that aren't due to the sun? The way you rip off your matching set like it burns you before sitting down a little ways off to wait with him.
You apologize to him a million times for this later, and he plasters on an all too amused smile. Insists it's fine before making some sort of joke about all the ways you could make it up to him. He truly isn't holding it against you– it simply slipped both of your minds until it was too late. There’s something there behind his eyes, though. Something so crestfallen. Sad. Don't look at me.
You'd be marching your ass to the nearest jeweler to get the stones from the last pair re-set into a new metal that isn't going to eat through his skin this time. You pay the guy triple in your haste to make things even a little bit right with your love. And the look on his face when you present it to him on your knees, full flourish, with apologies falling from your lips like he hadn't already forgiven you? As if he was ever upset with you to begin with? He pulls you into a kiss, nearly lifting you off the floor by the collar of your shirt in his haste to get you to shut up.
Oh, and he loves the new jewelry set just as much. You never make a silly mistake like that again, though, that's for sure.

Your throat feels raw.
Your nose feels stuffy.
And you kept coughing every few minutes.
You should have figured spotting a curse forming from a virus epidemic happening in the hotel across the street would pose a high ass risk of getting infected yourself.
But as a Window, it was your job, as life risking as it was.
The more people inside and around the building got infected, the Grade 4 grew closer to Grade 3. If it kept up, dozens upon hundreds would die.
"Ijichi-san. Disease curse. Transitioning from Grade 4 to Grade 3. Requesting sorcerer help here immediately." You struggled speaking over the phone as you kept coughing, dispatching the address to him, seeing the revolting curse grow in size as its toxic presence spilled, tripping as you tried keeping your distance.
Your head was pounding and you could barely focus as Ijichi-san panicked on his end.
"L/n-san!? L/N-SAN!"
In a moment of ailment, you dropped your phone, causing it to disconnect from the impact.
You were barely able to keep a grip on your phone or walk without faltering as you felt more drained with each passing moment. You blinked a lot as you tried staying alert, stumbling before collapsing against a parked empty vehicle on the street, sliding down to your bum just to rest your aching head against your knees, hugging your legs to your chest.
That curse's smogs began spreading down the streets, into traffic, and nearby occupied establishments.
Believing help wouldn't get here in time through the systematic process, you opted for your wild card, shakily picking up your now cracked screen device.
"Toru. Curse problem. Get here ASAP. Please." Texting the address in your feverish haste, you pressed send before curling in on yourself, welcoming sleep to rest your aching self.
In just under the next few minutes — more like moments — you felt a boom in the cursed energy atmosphere, that curse no longer being sensed. At last, it was done.
The shift from freezing metal to cozy soft fabric stirred you awake a bit. Along with the feel of solid warm arms draped around your shoulders and under your knees. Those big smooth hands squeezing your shoulder and your kneecap had you tugging weakly on the front of that top, pressing your face against your makeshift pillow, struggling to open your eyes as your hearing painted the picture for you in the meantime.
"A majority will spend weeks recuperating. The ones closest to the cause will spend months in the hospital at best. Still though, no casualties. Thank you for the help." High chances it was one of the many medics on site for post cleanup.
"You can thank the young woman here for that. She was the first responder, after all. I'll tend to her recovery myself. Sayonara." You know that voice right away, even when he was muffled, relaxing further in his hold.
"This cold isn't going away anytime soon. Too bad reversed cursed techniques don't make the common cold go away." Your half lidded eyes still had him swooning at how frail and precious you were in his arms.
You murmured, noticing him in his black long sleeved top, matching sweatpants, and face mask with the blindfold. "Blindfolded giant." That's when you realized a face mask was put on you as well, your muffled coughs hitting cloth.
You could already picture him beaming, grinning, as he laughed a bit.
"Correction. Your blindfolded giant, darling~ Now then, let's get you home."
°•○•°•○•°•○•°
Geto typing away on his computer, working on his latest reports.
Gojo straddling his lap, hugging him as he napped against his dear best friend slash hubbie.
The former smiling fondly at the motion before picking up where he left off was their situation before both men's phones began vibrating and ringing.
"Geto-san! L/n-san has reported a disease curse spotting! But she was cut off before I could get further details!"
"She just texted me the location." The sleepiness was wiped away, replaced with firm seriousness, as Gojo started getting off of him to get some shoes on.
"Ijichi-san, do not fret. Satoru will handle the curse." Geto calmly responded over the phone before speaking concerningly to his snowy-haired hubbie. "Toru, bring a face mask in case the affected area reaches where you land post teleport."
Said man smooched his hubbie in kind before slipping on the black face mask to match his current apparel. "Wait up for us, Sugu~"
Seeing you both back, teleporting into your home office, Suguru smooched Satoru the moment he took that face mask right off. Pressing the back of his palm against your forehead to double check for a fever, Suguru's dismay was warranted.
So being there when you awoke from your fever dream tucked in the middle of your guys' giant bed meant Suguru patting your now sweating forehead with a wet rag, you trembling from chills raking your skin followed by feeling warmer the next minute as you coughed into a tissue he handed to you.
"Well dearest, you've got yourself a nasty cold here." Suguru noted with a gray face mask on as well, seated by you on his side of the bed.
"Ah bah." Your raspy spat earned you a cough into your fist before you were offered a filled up water bottle by Satoru who was sitting behind you on his side; blindfold off but face mask back on.
"Welp, I exorcized the curse and brought your cute self back here. Plus I got that report to work on in your precious stead. So you're welcome." He gently ran his fingers through your hair to ease you in whatever way he could.
"Thank you Toru." You slowly sat up and were then handed some cold pills by Suguru to down some water with. "Thank you Sugu."
"Now that we've made our home Ground Zero, you are hereby confined to this room. Drink plenty of fluids. Take your medicine. Get lots of rest. Do you hear me, young lady?" Suguru's smart ass tone made you pout.
"Yes mom." You murmured raspy.
Satoru snorted behind his face mask to which Suguru whacked him in the shoulder across from him with narrowed eyes. "At least Megumi and the twins are living in the dorms now and Tsumiki was able to convince her classmate to stay at her place for a while. Meaning we three have the place to ourselves~"
"Does that mean … I have to sleep by myself?" You whimpered, cracking their resolve. "Neither the Gojo Geto bears, nor the Gojo Geto cats, not even the Gojo Geto giant round plushies can substitute for the real deal." You moped, pointing at said custom made toys lined up on the window seat on the far side of the room.
"Aww, Suguru, how can we deny our lovely sweetheart the company of her valiant handsome knights in the flesh, huh~!?" Satoru dramatized his own cries, muffled though.
Suguru sighed, consigning. "At least one of us should. Who else will be teaching the first years in the meantime?"
"Round robin, then? Last one left standing tends to that noble martyr and gets our dear sweetheart to be their own personal nurse in the end … huh …" That hum and those inquiring eyes could only bode mischief. "I volunteer Suguru to go first!"
"Not gonna happen, Satoru." He immediately denied.
"But to be fed by, bathed by and be doted on by our angel is heaven sent~!" Satoru gushed.
"Which is why you shouldn't be the only one getting that special treatment!" Suguru being jealous at possibly being left out on that.
"Hey!" Your strained shout ends in a coughing fit, curled up in bed, sniffling to which Suguru hands you a big enough tissue to blow your nose in. "I'm dying here."
"Hmm … Yu could fill in." Satoru suggested.
"He is working as a teaching aid part time. And he did say he could help out whenever we needed it." Suguru added.
"Plus Nanamin is on a business trip for the week~ He'll need something to do while waiting for his beloved's return~!" Satoru teased.
"That settles it then." Suguru was smirking behind that mask, you could just tell.
"How lucky you are, darling, to have the strongest duo be your own personal nurses~" Satoru was so smirking his ass off.
"Even though you'll literally get sick of me?" You shyly asked, squeezing your bottle, apprehensive.
"We have strong ass immune systems, Y/n. Comes with over a decade of immense training." Satoru prided on, kissing your flushed cheek.
"If we can risk ourselves in the face of death as sorcerers, this is nothing." Suguru assured, kissing your other flushed cheek. "I'll call Haibara."
"I'll start up a bath for us all. Thank you big ass bathtubs." Satoru clapped to that.
"What do I do?" Even when sick, tilting your head and batting those eyes made the duo smooch your lips at once.
"Just be a good little patient for us, alright, honey?" God that wink of Suguru's left you more hot than usual as he walked off to make that call.
"Besides, being sick with you means being granted a sick leave and getting paid for it! Ah, thank you, my darling sweetheart~!" Satoru did hug you, nuzzle his face in your hair, and left you a wheezing mess.
"Y - You're w - welcome!"
Well, on the bright side, at least you'll all be sick together.
Snuggled in bed, among discarded tissues, wrappers of cough drops, and smooshed in one big embrace of entangled limbs while binging nothing but sitcoms, movies, and anime.
You would eventually get better in a week's time then later tend to your two enamored, affectionate partners and get them back into tip top shape.
But until then, being in their cozy arms, sleeping smack dabbed in between them, that might as well be the key on your quick road to recovery.
The SatoSugu cure, indeed!

I'd love to make Astarion flustered - in a positive kind if way of course.
Saying something so lewd but incredibly turning on while out in public that he can only blink at you in silence.
Wearing something that makes his jaw drop when he sees you in it.
Making him a compliment so out of pocket genuine that his brain doesn't compute anything for a good few moments.
Laughing together so heartily that he keeps thinking to himself that he's the luckiest man in all of Faerun to have you.
Becoming so used to each other’s company that at one point he's surprised that he has nearly forgotten how it was to be all alone for so long.
Showing him so much trust that he can't begin to understand how anyone would ever pick him to have their backs.
Telling him that you love him in a way that makes him stop in his tracks and for the first time begin to believe that you truly mean it.
(Sorry, I got into my feels like half way through...)

Tumblr media
”holy shit!”
the raspy tilt of satoru’s voice echoes throughout the bedroom, stirring you from your comfortable slumber. a soft groan spills from suguru’s lips, deep and husky, as he pulls you closer into his embrace — smoothing a warm palm down the back of your head. trying to soothe you back to sleep, muttering under his breath.
”satoru, it’s too early for this...”
”it’s snowing!” said man continues, unperturbed. unmistakably giddy. he’s standing by the window, hands pressed flush against the cold glass; entirely entranced by the sight in front of his cerulean eyes.
your eyelids begin to flutter. a tiny tug of your subconscious, a pang of something excited flowing through your veins, an alert to your sleepy brain.
(snowing.)
with groggy movements, you wriggle out of suguru’s grasp — a displeased grumble leaves his throat, almost a whine — allowing you to scramble out of bed. ”really?” you chirp, rubbing the sleep from beneath your eyes. a raspy, meek little voice spilling into the air.
satoru grins, watching you move closer, watching as a tiny gasp pushes past your lips. watching as your droopy eyes widen — brightening, glittering, starlight and snowflakes painted on the interior of your iris. a breathtaking sight, he thinks.
maybe even more breathtaking than the winter wonderland reflected in it; beyond the pure opaque frosting of the window’s glass, out into your backyard, buried beneath a thick layer of snow. soft and fluffy, covering the city, suguru’s long-frozen tulip garden, the bare branches of your apricot tree. every roof in sight. all of it dyed a pure white, glittering in the light of a morning sun yet to fully rise, tiny snowflakes descending down to earth.
it’s beautiful.
satoru loves winter. he always has, he thinks. it comes to him as a memory — blurred at the edges, gleaming even still, the first time he saw those snowflakes up close. someone held him in their arms, he recalls. a warmth long faded.
all he can properly remember is that sight. one that knocked the breath from out his tiny lungs, all glitter and something almost other-worldly, something frightening in its majesty. like it broke through a rift in the stratosphere.
the first snow of the year.
and he’s loved it ever since; the soft crunch of snow beneath his feet, an air heavy with the scent of cinnamon and candied apples, bouts of laughter to be heard from faraway apartments. red and green glimmers of artificial light, sweet frosting on the christmas cake he would always gobble up alone in his room. the cold wind, nipping at his bare fingers — a reminder of his capacity for ache.
there are lots of things to love. lots of memories to cherish. and every single year, he gets the chance to make more.
like this; the light in your eyes, the smile on your face, the excitement in how hurriedly you turn to meet his giddy gaze. a nostalgic kind of joy simmering in the space between you.
and before either of you know it, satoru’s pulling you towards the hallway, intent on dragging you outside to see it all up close. almost tripping over his agumon plush, lying unassumingly on the floor, kicked off the bed once again.
(probably by satoru himself, though he’ll always insist it was suguru’s doing. overcome by his jealousy, unable to stand the sight of his cute husband cuddling up to a plushie instead of him. satoru understands, he does — he feels the same when he sees you hug that 3’0 cat plushie of yours.
and, sure, maybe once or twice he’s been lucid enough to register the subconscious kick of his leg and agumon’s subsequent fall to the floor — but he’ll still blame suguru in the morning. if only to see the way said man rolls his eyes, clicks his tongue, maybe flicks his forehead if he’s lucky.)
high on the spirit of christmas, spurred on by childlike elation and sleep-deprivation, you stumble towards the door. satoru pulls one of his jackets over your shoulders, delighting in the way your hands don’t fully reach through the sleeves. wrapping you up in a cozy scarf when suguru shouts at you both to dress warmly, barely awake and already tired of your antics.
and the moment you step through the door, satoru is engulfed by it. that mystical, mystical feeling.
a little lonely, a little too satisfying to pass up. a cold breeze that nips at his fingertips, snowflakes that brush against his cheeks and stick to his white lashes. a warm hand in his, as you cling to his side, shuddering — but smiling, as you look up at the sky, putting a hand out just to feel the snowflakes melt against the skin of your palm.
he feels you let go of him, but doesn’t mention it. a little too mesmerized to tug you back. dipping his toes into the bittersweet nostalgia of it all, staring at the flurry of white all around you, the skeletal branches of your apricot tree. suguru’s poor tulips. humming a jolly tune, subconsciously. a little delighted.
— until something cold and wet hits the exposed skin of his neck.
satoru twitches, a chilling shudder trickling down his spine. the snowball just thrown at him begins to melt, droplets sticking to his nape, and he turns to you with a raise of his brow. a devilish grin on his lips, when he hears your muffled laughter, sees the crinkle of your eyes.
(you’re cute, he thinks. but you need to be humbled.)
”oh, so that’s how you wanna play?” he drawls, eyes gleaming with amusement. taking a step forward, reaching down to gather some snow in his palm. a wide grin on his glossy lips. ”fine by me.”
he's fast, but you act quickly, running towards the apricot tree with laughter in your throat. feeling the pitter patter of your heartbeat resound in your ears, as the snowball misses its mark by just a hair — and you waste no time in making your own.
it’s a hard-fought duel. snowfall blocking your vision, nerves beginning to numb, red cheeks and runny noses as you chase each other with giddy breaths. unfortunately for you, satoru’s arms are unfairly long, fingers unfairly nimble, and his stamina never even seems to falter.
so before long, your energy begins to dwindle. chest heaving, hands too cold to form a proper snowball, while your husband seems like he hasn’t even broken a sweat. they just keep on coming, snowball after snowball colliding with the fabric of your jacket, and when one of them hits your collarbone you squeal — falling backwards, right into a fresh pile of snow.
satoru moves forward, a triumphant smirk on his handsome face. you’re out of breath, and your hands are red, and he’s fairly certain you’re gonna catch a cold. suguru’s going to scold him, but right now all he can think of is you. the frown you’re wearing, the little huff that slips from your lips.
”ready to admit defeat, sweetheart?” he practically purrs, standing above you with his hands on his hips. smug. and you grin right back.
”never.”
a hum. something glimmers in his eyes, a devious little glint, and you come to regret your decision when satoru gathers a heap of snow with his overgrown arms; only to drop it all on top of you. too tired to fight back, all you can do is shield your face, silently accepting your fate.
a shiver wracks through your body, and satoru almost feels bad. just a tiny bit. but then you finally relent, murmuring bitterly under your breath. ”fine, fine…” a soft pout forms on your lips. ”you win.”
and satoru smiles. crouching down to meet you at eye level, on his knees in front of you. there’s a teasing mirth in his eyes, when he reaches out to cup the fat of your cheek. ”that’s all i wanted to hear, sweet pea,” he drawls, trying not to giggle when you exaggeratedly roll your eyes.
his voice curls down an octave when he continues, leaning forward to brush his nose against yours. hot breath against your chilled skin. ”now, for my prize…”
his lips meet yours, sweet and chaste — a little cheeky. you scoff into the kiss, but satoru’s smile only grows. honeyed, a little bit adoring. his tongue flits out to lick at your cold bottom lip.
he lingers, for a bit. like he’s trying to savour the way you taste, faded strawberry chapstick sticking to his lips, smudged against your own. and you sigh, softly, melting a little, comforted by the fleeting warmth that blossoms on your face.
when he's finally satisfied, having dragged his prize out to its completion, satoru helps you up. brushing snowflakes off your jacket, cradling your ice-cold hands in his. they’re not faring much better, but a worried tug of his heartstrings compels him to warm you up. bringing them to his lips, hot breath fanning over your skin, tender little kisses against the knots of your knuckles.
you can’t help but blush, and a raspy chuckle flows from out his lips.
hazy morning sunshine licks at the branches of the apricot tree behind you, illuminating the contours of your face, the shine of his eyes. a blue smudge on a canvas painted white and gray. the air smells of pine cones and something smokey, crisp. it courses through his burning lungs when he inhales, exhales, a breath of vapour that scatters up into the sky.
satoru loves winter. always has. but now, he’s certain he loves it even more.
because now, he has two people to share it with. two people to drag out into the snow, two people whose hands he can tenderly warm up, two people who’ll laugh and sigh at his antics and still indulge him. two people to pelt with snowballs.
what more could a man want?
”hey, idiots!”
the voice that echoes throughout the air is exasperated, a little teasing. yet fond. suguru’s got his hair tied into a messy half done bun, black turtleneck sweater enunciating his broad chest and the curve of his waist. there’s a fatigue in his eyes, the creases of his face, but a lazy smile is playing at his lips.
”i’m making breakfast,” he shouts, voice deep and smokey and soft even still. ”come in and warm up before you catch a cold.”
”is that any way to speak to your husband and spouse?” satoru chimes back, a melodic lilt to his sugarsweet voice. something satisfied. pleased.
suguru shoots him an unimpressed look, but his eyes soften. melting a little, at the words that spill from satoru’s lips, as if they were always meant to be there.
(husband. spouse. suguru wills himself not to smile.)
with matching grins on your faces, the two of you stumble back towards the door. snow crunching beneath your feet, a happy noise pushing past your lips when you collide with the warmth of your husband’s chest.
”look, suguru. isn’t it pretty?” you chirp, smiling brightly. an expression he mirrors — brushing some snow from the top of your head, warm palms caressing your cold skin, setting a mental reminder to scold satoru later. sparing a brief glance at the snowy veil over reality.
then he exhales. a fond hum. ”it is.”
satoru joins you both by the door, stretching out his lanky limbs. tousled hair, wet strands sticking to his skin, reddened cheeks and a signature pout. ”suguru, my hands are cold,” he whines. ”warm ’em up for me?”
a click of his tongue. ”should’ve put some gloves on, satoru.”
a hum buzzes in your throat, and you put your hands out. itchy, a little dry. a sad frown tugs at your lips when you speak. ”my hands are also cold.”
and, like clockwork, suguru’s eyes soften. a coo tiptoeing on his tongue, engulfing your hands in his larger ones. ”aw, c’mere, my love…” his breath fans over your frozen fingertips. ”let’s get you warmed up, hm?”
satoru gasps, a hand on his chest, and you stifle a giggle. he’s acting, you both know, being a little drama queen. he knows you’re just exaggerating suguru’s double standard as a bit, that your husband would probably set himself on fire to warm either of you up.
despite that, his voice comes out thoroughly offended. ”oh, i see how it is,” he huffs, walking past the both of you. pouting deeply. ”you hate me. you hate me, and you want me to die. i understand.”
”satoru,” you coo. he hmphs, but stills, waiting for you to wrap your arms around him. and you do — a little too eager to appease your giant baby of a husband.
”we’re just joking around,” you assure him, holding back a humorous chuckle. squeezing his waist with palpable fondness. ”love you sooo much. you know that.”
satoru stays silent. but he cranes his neck, to meet suguru’s gaze, standing just behind him. narrowing his cobalt eyes — a meaningful look.
suguru sighs.
”yes, yes. we love you oh so much.” he takes a step forward, ruffling the white head of hair by the door. a lazy smile on his lips. ”now behave and go change out of your pyjamas. they’re soaked.”
his voice is teasing. exasperated, more than a little condescending. but it’s suguru, so satoru accepts it — following you both into the warmth of your home. the scent of cinnamon and vanilla hangs heavy in the air, a hint of espresso and firewood, lulling him into a sweet state of tranquility. rich with comfort, safety.
he changes out of his wet clothes, pulling a black hoodie over his head before waltzing into the kitchen. and you do the same, emerging from your bedroom in one of suguru’s cozy sweaters, knitted and smelling of bergamot.
when suguru notices, his gaze shifts into something fond. palpable. a look satoru always finds in the scope of those warm eyes, amber and cedar bleeding into something sweet, only ever directed at the two of you. a look said man assumes goes unnoticed. he’s not as slick as he thinks.
the kitchen simmers with hazy sunlight and gentle movements, something sleepy and kind. satoru is a little bit enamored with it; from bowls of cat food by the corner, to camellias by the windowsill, cookie jars and dried lemon slices, the fading scent of baked goods and wishlists stuck to the fridge.
(yours and satoru’s are filled with scribbles, new ideas popping up daily, while suguru’s is almost entirely blank; mostly necessities, one or two things he’d like for himself.
and then, of course, the same thing he writes at the top of his wishlist every year; some peace and quiet.)
suguru shuffles around the kitchen, long strands of black hair cascading down his back, swaying with his movements. he sends you both an affectionate glance when you step in, already in the process of making satoru his cup of hot chocolate — topped with marshmallows and whipped cream, colorful sprinkles in the shape of tiny stars, a touch of cinnamon. satoru licks his lips.
when it's finished, the cup is promptly handed to him, paired with a tender kiss to his forehead. and suguru starts the meticulous brewing of your coffee, steady hands, finely chosen coffee beans, the low purring of the espresso machine. soothing.
that’s when you attach yourself to his back. wrapping your arms around his waist, a sleepy yawn muffled into the fabric of his turtleneck. he places a big palm on your hand, thumb smoothing over your knuckle, and you nuzzle into him silently. suguru smiles.
”still sleepy, baby?” he questions, a coo on the tip of his tongue. his voice is soft, palpably so, buzzing with warmth and safety and something that makes you want to stay cuddled up to him forever.
satoru senses an opportunity to insert himself into the conversation, and forces out a yawn of his own. stretching his limbs like a big cat, blinking drowsily, eyelashes fluttering. hoping it’ll come off as endearing. ”mhm.”
but suguru shoots him an unimpressed look. ”not you,” he tuts, patting your arm, ”this baby. i wasn’t asking you.”
a pout. ”why are you so mean to me?” he whines, shooting you a doe-eyed look. bottom lip jutting out slightly, a feigned glassiness to his eyes. ”sweetie, tell your husband to stop being so mean to me.”
you smile. indulgent, as always. ”don't be so mean to him, suguru. you know he’s sensitive.”
a sigh. deep, tinged with exhaustion. satoru shares an amused look with you — stifling a shared chuckle at suguru’s exasperation.
and suddenly, he feels something warm flutter in his ribcage. a sunkissed butterfly, wings brushing against his ribs, coaxing his lips into curling up. unmistakable fondness, almost too much to bear. the need to reach out and touch you creeps up on him, a hunger he can’t deny, but he holds back; you look comfy like that, curled up against suguru’s spine. so he only inches closer, without a word.
his husband casts him a glance, but satoru stays silent. lips pursed, waiting for something. patient.
and suguru relents. he reaches a hand out, to tuck a stray strand of white hair behind his ear — an excuse to touch him. a silent apology.
(i'm sorry, you big baby.)
satoru grins.
you shift from foot to foot, leaning over to see what suguru is doing, pressing buttons and taking two ceramic cups out from a wall cabinet. your eyes zero in on a particular shelf, narrowing in suspicion, before flitting over to meet your husband’s gaze.
”satoru, did you use up all my peppermint sweeteners again?”
he stiffens. just a tad, before swallowing a gulp — followed by a silly chuckle, sheepish and performative, eager to wiggle his way out of your cold gaze. ”… which sweeteners do you mean, honey?”
”don’t pull the ’honey’ card.”
”and don’t play dumb, either.”
a pout crosses his lips. betrayed. ”suguru, who’s side are you even on?”
said man gives him a look. that one look, characteristically suguru, the same one he always sends satoru’s way. one so thoroughly unimpressed it makes him feel like the world’s biggest clown.
and satoru plays along. your dutiful, beloved clown, his posture wilting like a sad flower. suguru exhales through his nose.
”don’t steal their sweeteners.” he smooths a thumb over your knuckle, absentminded, meeting the cold metal of the ring on your finger. smiling a little at the sensation. ”buy your own.”
satoru huffs, drawn out and childish. crossing his arms, leaning against the kitchen counter. ”ah, i see how it is. leaving your sweet husband to buy his own sweeteners?” he clicks his tongue. ”chivalry is dead.”
you bite back a little chuckle — satoru recognizes the cute noise you make when you do — and suguru rolls his eyes. fondly, always. ”remind me next time i go to the store and i’ll consider it.”
”hmph.”
suguru is smiling. it’s small, but genuine, worth a thousand words. and you are, too, the vague crinkle of your eyes giving you away. even as you bury your face in the curve of suguru’s back.
and ah, satoru thinks. there it is again.
that sickeningly sweet sense of deja vu; the sensation of a certain something flourishing deep inside his chest. warming him up, trickling through his frost-bitten veins. that one little itch he never manages to satisfy, that never goes away, something that took root inside his heart years ago — watered by the sweet looks on your faces.
this everyday slice of heaven, right in front of him, that he’s been greedily partaking in ever since he moved in with you. since he married you.
(married.)
sometimes he still can’t believe it.
”it’ll be done in a minute,” suguru hums, and satoru blinks. broken out of his syrupy stupor. ”you two go wait by the kotatsu, okay? must be cold, poor babies.”
and, as always, his voice is a little teasing. a tiny bit condescending, if you really strain your ears, in typical suguru fashion. but it’s laced with a touch of sweetness; one that would be too much for either of you to stomach, if it were to drip out of his lips with nothing to water it down. so satoru accepts it. welcomes it, even.
and you follow his suggestion. making your way towards the living room, satoru trailing behind you, continuously enamored by every little thing he sees. every little piece of the home you’ve built for yourselves.
your living room is cozy. several potted plants seated here and there, a thick quilt to cover the kotatsu, a bowl of satsumas on top of it. a sleepy cat on your couch, golden sunshine ruffling her fur. a santa hat lies beside her, and satoru snags it without much thought. pulling it over his head.
his gaze shifts to the christmas tree over in the corner, eyes filling with a childlike kind of wonder. it’s decorated to completion, weighed down by colourful ornaments and lights, a star at the very top. suguru cut it himself, bringing the biggest and prettiest one he could find back home.
(satoru had gone with him. partially to help carry it back, mostly to get a glimpse of suguru's biceps flexing with the swing of the axe. he’s a simple man.)
and beneath it, presents are already beginning to pile up. carefully wrapped, in bows and silken paper, growing more each day. shattering suguru’s hopes of maybe having a more lowkey christmas this year — but satoru couldn’t be more relieved. this is the only time of year you let him get away with pampering you both to his heart’s content.
a smile blooms on his lips. he plops down on the floor, crossing his legs, right as suguru walks in with a coffee pot in hand. their gazes overlapping.
and something mischievous begins to brew within the blue of his eyes, something that makes suguru narrow his own. satoru pats his thigh, twice, a coo on the tip of his tongue. santa hat sitting pointedly on top of his head, fluffing up his hair.
”c’mere, suguru! sit on santa’s lap.”
”— you’re disgusting.”
the words are playful, but a pout still slips into the curve of satoru’s lips, and he huffs out a displeased little breath. his husband pretends not to hear it, so satoru turns to you — sitting so prettily to his right, already anticipating his next move. puppy dog eyes on full display, he gives you a soft tilt of his head, snowy tufts of hair falling over his eyes.
and you sigh, in what he knows is resignation. his faux pout turning into a satisfied grin.
you curl up in satoru’s lap without much of a fuss, letting him circle his arms around you. an indulgent smile rests on your lips, but he knows you love this; his broad chest against your back, the heat of the kotatsu warming your feet. breathing in the fading scent of your shampoo, he leaves a peck on the sensitive spot right behind your ear, and you try not to shudder.
then satoru smiles. squeezing you, lightly, sweetly, eyes rich with honeyed affection. voice dripping with playful endearment. ”there we go,” he coos. ”what does my angel want for christmas, hm?”
”i want you to stop stealing my peppermint sweeteners,” comes your answer. instantaneous.
silence fills the room. a moment passes. outside your frosted windows, a bird takes flight from the branches of your apricot tree. and satoru clicks his tongue.
”… santa can only do so much, baby.”
two deep scoffs fill the air, heavy and bemused. one from you, one from suguru. satoru only giggles.
”just kidding!” he chirps, planting a kiss on the top of your head. ”don’t you worry. santa’ll give you all the peppermint sweeteners you could ever want.”
you raise a brow, exhaling amusedly. craning your head to meet his gaze. ”and he won’t end up using them all himself?”
”of course not! blasphemy.”
a moment passes.
”… maybe one or two. as a treat.”
a string of protests slips from your lips, and satoru tries not to burst into a fit of giggles. suguru just watches, silently, smiling lightly as he pours hot coffee into two ceramic cups. steam wafting up to the ceiling, a cat jumping down from the couch to curl up in his lap. he places one in front of you, not taking a single sip of his own until he hears you hum blissfully at the taste — pink lips against white ceramic. a bitter taste on his tongue, sweetened by your approval.
then he starts peeling three satsumas, absentmindedly, and satoru swallows down the love-ridden honey choking up the back of his throat. pretending the domesticity of such a simple action doesn’t melt his heart down to the marrow.
he turns his attention towards the window. frost sticking to the glass like spider-woven webs, soon to be melted by the glow of the mellow winter sunrays. flitting in through the curtains, cascading over the room, splattering across the floorboards. framing the hue of your hair, the smile on suguru’s lips.
and a memory comes to him. sudden, hazy, faded at the edges. ghosting his subconscious.
he remembers the frost, the biting wind, the frightening majesty of the snow that fell that day. breaking into his world through a rift in the stratosphere. he remembers the contrasting warmth of the person who held him, who cradled him close; the soft lull of a woman’s voice.
for a moment, satoru thinks he can almost, almost see it before him. hear those gentle words, see her tired smile. why was she always so tired?
(look, satoru. isn’t it pretty?)
— he can’t recall how it sounded. if it was melodic and soft, or raspy and broken, happy or sad. but he does recall that it made him feel safe. safe enough to find comfort in a sight so other-worldly, so very foreign.
it should’ve been frightening, but it wasn’t. the first snowfall satoru ever saw knocked the breath from out his lungs, stole his heart with cold hands, left him with a suffocating nostalgia. but the memory is precious.
and now, he feels that sense of other-worldliness in this; a kotatsu for three, a warm house, peeled satsumas and promises of a christmas cake soon to be baked. one lovely spouse in his lap, the other gazing at him with that fond look he always assumes goes unnoticed. a cocoon of safety — a ghost he doesn’t need to chase anymore.
warmth. enough warmth to make up for the snow and frost outside your home, all the experiences he missed out on as a child. warmth, warmth, warmth. funny, how that happens to be satoru’s favorite thing about winter.
he looks at the two of you, hoping you won’t pay any mind to his silence. for once, he hopes you’ll stay wrapped up in your awful, awful coffee, so bitter that just looking at it makes his throat feel dry. just so he can get away with admiring you for a little longer. from the contours of suguru’s face, to the skin of your collarbone, to the rings on your fingers. ones he put there himself.
and ah, satoru thinks, there it is again. again and again, as always, forever. that warm, warm feeling flourishing in the depths of his chest.
he hopes it never goes away.

Astarion x Big-Breasted!Tav
Inspired by @mglennonart art
Thanks @thechaoticdruid , @rachelle-on-the-run and and @not-so-lost-after-all for help!
So, you are a human woman.
Human women come in every form and size, and you are particularly cursed/blessed with huge breasts.
You know how human women find elven men attractive coz they are so beautiful and gentle?
Elven men love human women for their "tits" and "asses".
You know, half-elves are usually born to human mothers, after all.
Unfortunately, the same features, loved by elves, are often a reason for mockery from other humans.
Be it jealousy from other women or undercover lust from men.
You were bullied when you were young and grew up ashamed of your body trying to cover yourself from unasked attention.
Besides, people call women like you "asking for things".
As if backache and inability to sleep on your stomach aren't enough!
Or people assuming facts about you just because you look like that.
With Astarion…
It's different.
It's not "I don't care about tits".
If anything, he cares a lot about them.
But there is awe in how he looks at you.
There is adoration.
He likes pressing his face against your chest, burying his nose in your breasts.
He likes to occasionally put his hand under your shirt.
At first, you were embarrassed by this but later you got used to it.
He sews dresses for you - the ones with deep necklines.
When he first presented you one you refused to leave the house without him by your hand.
But you know he will protect you if someone can't keep their dirty thoughts to themselves.
A man who dared to grope you at the tavern is now missing three fingers.
An old pervert who called you a slut is now a one-eyed pervert.
Astarion also makes you a corset which makes fighting and travelling easier for you.
But it's also suspiciously easy to unlace.
Because if you stay in camp or in an inn, Astarion likes seeing you as you are.
With time, Astarion learns how to transform into a bat, and - and in a bat form he easily fits in your bra.
He can never get enough of it.
Me and @rachelle-on-the-run were carried away A LOT and we have some ideas for NSFW headcanons. Coz it's already very naughty. Would you like to read it?

Just hanging out with Astarion in bed.
Not necessarily even sex - just: naked cuddling, or talking, reading together - having Astarion read you something until you fall asleep.
And him throwing the blanket over you once he's sure you're off to your dreams.
And then staying in bed when you wake up, not wanting to get up. Astarion for sure would be the one to drag you back with an arm around your waist whenever you try to get up. But he promises you to make you a cup of tea if you stay five more minutes (not promising it will taste good though - but it's the thought that counts, right?)
That's it, that's the post. I just wanna hangout with the vampire in a big cosy bed and then never get up again.

Astarion probably isn’t used to aftercare with all his trauma regarding sex / intimacy.
So imagine after the first time with you, almost immediately after you both finish, he gets up to re-dress. He expects you to do the same and leave, just like everyone has before you. But instead, you tug him back down into your warm embrace. He’s frozen, unsure what you’re doing but he likes the way you play with his hair. It slows down his erratic post coital heart, as his head relocates to your chest. Astarion comes to the realisation that he’s never actually taken a moment after sex to calm his body down before. It’s nice. You stay like this together for a while, relaxing after all the physical movement from earlier.
‘You okay?’ You mumble to him in a tired haze, ‘Did it feel good? You want some water?’ You begin to sit up, disrupting his position on your chest. For once he doesn’t reply, no flirty quips ready on his tongue. Astarion finds himself half shocked, half in awe that you care how he feels and what he felt like during the act. No one’s ever asked him that before.
You leave the bed briefly to the bathroom and return with a washcloth. You wipe yourself off then gesture towards Astarion, ‘Is it okay for me to clean you?’ You say softly, asking his consent.
He coughs, clearing his throat, ‘Of course, darling,’ he says, clearly covering up his confusion and rising nerves. ‘Are you okay?’ You ask again, repeating the question from earlier.
‘Yes, my love, I’m fine... it’s just no one’s ever done this to me before,’ he states gesturing down to where you carefully wipe his inner thighs. ‘Oh!’ You stutter ‘I can stop if your not comfortable with it—’. ‘I love it.’ he states, cutting you off. Eyes staring warmly into your own.
After this scenario happens I feel like Astarion will make the extra effort to learn proper aftercare for you, he begins to realise how important it is to check in after sex, he never wants you to feel used like he did in the past.
(Notes: sorry this is pure Astarion brainrot. Not proofread/edited. This man has crawled his way into my heart)

I was wondering if you would be up for writing an Astarion x reader where the reader is fiercly protective of him.
The idea is that it takes place during the scene where Araj tries to pressure him into biting her and the reader just goes off on her, like to the point Astarion has to hold them back. Basically the reader is like "HOW DARE YOU TRY AND PRESSURE HIM TO DO THAT HE SAID NO!!"
Sorry if its all over the place I'm tired at the time of sending this request
ooh, i have such a soft spot for characters being protective and using that premise in relation to the scene with araj? brilliant! hope you enjoy!
also, i've decided to gather all of my prompt fills in an ao3 collection, which you can find here.
all the blood that i would spill (astarion x gender neutral!reader, baldur's gate 3)
Tumblr media
Considering her proclivities, the drow’s request shouldn’t come as much of a shock, and yet Astarion’s lip curls in disgusted shock, anyway. He isn’t much of a fan of the way she’s looking at him, either, heavy-lidded with desire while her noxious-smelling blood races through her veins.
“I assume he belongs to you?” Araj questions, turning her lusting gaze to you. Astarion nearly bares his fangs in offense; he belongs to no one.
You’re standing close enough that it’s impossible not to notice when your shoulders stiffen. He shoots you a glance and finds your face frozen in confusion, brows high and lips parted in surprise - apparently the drow’s outlandish request has thrown you off your guard as well.
“Excuse me?” Your words ring with patent disbelief. At your side, your fingers twitch alongside the pommel to your weapon, and Astarion blinks in surprise. You were usually the last in your group to be quick to anger, and yet he can feel the first stirrings of rage beginning to spill through your blood. Interesting. “He’s his own person.”
Astarion’s taken aback by your words, despite having never been treated as anything less in your presence. Still, some part of him had expected you to urge him to fulfill the drow’s request, his own comfort be damned.
More fool he.
The drow scoffs, amused. Your fingers edge closer to your blade. “Oh, I’m sure he really believes that,” she murmurs, a contemptuous curl to her lips. Astarion’s skin crawls as she gazes upon him once more, contemplative and sharp, as though studying a bug beneath glass. “How utterly adorable.”
Karlach and Gale exchange glances. They can feel the rising tension in the air as well as Astarion can. The drow seems oblivious to your agitation, however, or ignorant to it. Neither option bodes well for her.
“Do you have a name, spawn?”
Astarion narrows his eyes at the drow, nearly spits his answer, “Astarion, but hold on - “
The drow speaks over him, waxing poetic about her desire to be bitten by a vampire, to dance on the edge between life and death.
“I’ll even compensate you,” she continues, as if she were doing him a favor.
“I will have to decline,” he returns cheerily, even as his innards bubble with rage. As if he could be bought with a mere potion, of all things. As if he could be bought at all!
The drow’s brows climb. “Excuse me? This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and you’re squandering it.”
“I gave you my answer,” Astarion bites out, darkly satisfied when her expression sours.
Araj huffs, looking to you. “Can’t you talk some sense into your obstinate charge?” she queries, and before Astarion can interject - in the form of a dagger to her gut, whatever potions she could provide you be damned - you’re stepping closer, your fingers wound tightly around the pommel of your blade.
“He said no.” Your voice is low, measured. Utterly pleasant, were it not for the rage bubbling underneath.
Karlach and Gale crowd closer, though whether they’re preparing to halt the incoming fight or aid in it, Astarion can’t be certain. He can only watch, driven to some sort of silent awe as you proceed to stare the impertinent drow down.
Judging by the shifting expression on her face, Araj has finally begun to sense the faux pas she’s committed, though she doesn’t seem completely resigned yet to the thought of allowing Astarion to slip through her fingers.
“If you have no need of the potion,” she begins. “Surely there must be some other boon you’d desire. Some price - “
“Enough.” Araj is not the only one to stiffen at the sound of your voice; firm with finality and carrying the faintest hint of a growl within its depths, even Astarion feels his spine straightening at the sound of it. At his back, Karlach gives a low whistle, impressed. “You’ve asked and we’ve answered; let that be the end of it.”
Araj falters. “But - “
The sheen of your blade catches Astarion’s eye. He darts forward before you can unsheath it fully, pale fingers wrapping around yours and mutely shoving the blade back within its sheath.
You catch his gaze, your brows furrowed, but allow him to draw you away from the drow, tossing a deceptively cheery, “We appreciate your help but we really must be going now. Farewell!” over his shoulder.
You’re silent as you match them towards camp, the line of your shoulders tight with tension. Karlach and Gale attempt to clear the air with pointless banter, but Astarion watches you, his anger at the drow’s impertinence leeching away in favor of something far more pleasant. Something sweeter.
He had never seen someone grow so angry on his behalf. You were seconds away from cleaving that drow in two! And why? Simply because she had insulted him, regarding him as though he were nothing but an object meant to be used?
It was a novel sensation, to have one’s honor defended so stridently, and by the savior of Faerun, no less! You could have asked him to drink from her - gods help him, he would have felt compelled to - and yet you hadn’t. You had deferred to him, accepted his refusal, and nearly drew blood when the drow had continued to infringe upon his comfort.
Were you truly that valiant? Oh, he was certain you would have defended any of your motley brood if they had been the subject of the drow’s fascination, but would you have grown this angry? This fierce?
The group disperses as soon as it reaches camp, and yet Astarion continues to keep you under his watchful eye, following you as you divest yourself of your armor and head straight to one of the training dummies set up on the outskirts of camp.
He takes his time ridding himself of his own armor, a lightness to his steps when he eventually approaches you. You’ve yet to tire from your relentless pummeling of the poor training dummy, and Astarion wonders if what you’re seeing isn’t an amalgamation of wood and straw, but a drow with a loose tongue and contemptuous eyes instead.
“Give it a rest, darling,” he cajoles you, a curl to his lips as your shoulders jump in surprise. “She’s dead.”
You give him a look, sweat beading on your brow and the fire in your eyes burning hotter than ever. “I don’t know what you mean,” you mutter, your blade arching through the air and sinking into the dummy with a muted thunk.
Astarion huffs. “Tell me, pet. Would you have skewered her if I hadn’t stopped you?”
You sigh through your nose, rising from your fighting stance with a conflicted expression upon your face. “I don’t know,” you mutter, before the fire within your eyes blazes to life once more. “She was just so - so arrogant and intrusive and she wouldn’t listen to you - “
“Darling - “ he raises his hands, the gesture enough to calm you from your rising ire. You’re really quite precious when you’re riled up like this. “She wasn’t the first to do so, you know. Nor will she be the last. You needn’t grow so angry on my behalf.”
You shake your head, running a hand across your sweaty brow. “I’m sorry for trying to speak for you. I know you can take care of yourself. I was just - “
“Angry,” Astarion offers, and you huff, a reluctant smile upon your lips.
“Yes. Angry.”
He smiles, then, reaching over to wrest the pommel from your hand. You allow him to do so without protest. You allow him many more liberties than that, he’s starting to realize. “The drow’s words mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. I can’t imagine she’ll feel brave enough to ask again, not with the lasting memory you left her with.”
Your eyes grow dark, a thunderous expression stealing over your face. Despite himself, Astarion feels a spark of satisfaction warm his belly at the sight.
“Good,” you mutter, and the spark ignites.
Next time, he muses - if there were such a thing - he would keep his hands to himself, just to see how far you’d go, how precious his honor was to you.
Truth be told? He’s looking forward to it.

At first, he blinks when you wrap your arms around him.
For as much as he can remember, sex has been a tool to him. A necessity to survive under Cazador's influence, leaving him in a state that loathes the touch of others. Most encounters remained the same--he'd disassociate, and by the time he'd come to, he'd want to leave immediately, wishing to scrub his skin raw. But no matter how much he'd cleaned his own body, it never seemed enough.
At least, until you.
He feels your bare form press against his back and tenses. It's different from before---not out of disgust, but out of surprise. He'd thought you'd leave. He'd given you his services and had nothing left to offer you, yet here you were, your cheeks smushed against the crook of his neck. He has no idea what you're doing, but you simply hold him tighter.
"What is this?" he finally says.
You don't budge. "What's what?"
His hands brush against your own. "This."
"My hand?" you snort, but he adjusts his body so he's now facing you, your eyes meeting with such seriousness that the smile vanishes from your face. "Are you okay? Did you not like it?"
He nearly balks at your words. Not like it? It's the first time he hasn't lost himself in the cage of his own mind during the act in---well, forever. He doesn't even want to scrub until his skin peels because he wants your touch to linger as long as possible. "I did, I just--we had sex, my dear."
The slightest pink tinges on your cheeks, and he wants to move his hands to cup them. "We did."
"...People usually leave by now."
Your face falls. "You want me to leave?"
"No, of course not, but it's just what usually..." he trails off, and his brows furrow. You suddenly seem to understand his confusion as your eyes soften in that irritatingly beautiful way of yours. But they almost seem sad...for him.
"I can stay," you say, your fingers tracing the shapes of his face. It feels nice if the way he nearly shudders means anything. He wants more.
"If you insist on adoring me, then," he replies, but his voice isn't as performative as it usually is. "Who am I to stop you?"
You smile wider, and he's sure his poor heart is doomed.
The first few times after this, he's still hesitant, unsure if you're really going to stay. But after a while, he's the one to wrap his arms around you, bringing you impossibly close as he breathes in the scent of your soap. You let him hold you until morning, and even then, he doesn't want to let go.
"Thank you," he mumbles one day. "Truly."
You only squeeze his hand, and it's enough for a thousand unspoken words.

It had been a complete accident. Truly.
Mindlessly running your hand through his hair, the tips of your fingertips unknowingly brush against the tip of his ear, and it makes him groan.
Thinking it had been out of pain, you tear your hands away from his head, eyes blinking wide. "What happened? Are you okay?"
And instead of a scowl, you find that his cheeks are multiple shades darker than usual--almost pink. He mumbles something under his breath, then shifts his entire body around so that his face is buried into your stomach, arms locked around your waist. He says something, this time so muffled you can barely hear the words they're supposed to form.
"I can't hear if you're talking into my stomach."
He says it louder this time. "...good."
"What?"
Then, finally, he whips his head just enough to meet your gaze. "It feels good."
Your brows lift, and you slowly slip your hands back into his hair. "This?"
"No--I mean, that too, but--" he's flushing brighter now, and your eyes practically sparkle at how flustered he sounds. It's a rare occurrence, but Astarion at a loss for words is something you hold dear to your heart. "--my ears."
"Your ears," you repeat, hands slowly inching to the sides of his head. You carefully trace the shape of his pointy ears, watching as he practically shudders, melting into your touch. Even your own cheeks seem to heat. "Like that?"
He wordlessly nods, opting to bury his face into your stomach again to avoid facing the power he's just given you. And you use it well, gently massaging his skin with your finger pads, drinking in the way his body reacts to your touch. "Oh my god."
Hours later, when your head lays on top of his arm and he has you close to his chest, you smile up at him cheekily.
He notices the way you're struggling to keep in your laughter. "What?"
"What does it feel like when I touch your ears?"
He nearly chokes on his own words, horrified by how upfront the question is. "It--I don't know, it just feels nice."
"Nice is an understatement."
He groans. "Please, darling, this is humiliating."
And despite the way you continue to poke fun at him and the way he feigns annoyance, whenever the two of you are alone, he always opts to put his head in your lap, and you choose to knead your fingers through his curls.
