She learnt it from Barbossa.

She’s always been more ruthless than Will, more efficient, more fierce. Most of the first film, she spent with Barbossa, and she knew he was dangerous. She was exasperated with Jack and underwhelmed by him when they were marooned, and came up with her own plan, completely without his help. She schemes and lies and plays it smart, she’s proud and dignified and she knows it.

If Will was Jack’s unwitting protégé, Barbossa was Elizabeth’s unwitting mentor.

The idea that Polin can’t carry their own season is wild to me. There are so many little things from Polin’s book that they could use to flesh out their story.

Lady Danbury matchmaking Pen. She could dance with other guys that Lady D sets up, revealing a confused Colin who doesn’t know why he’s got raging jealousy on the sidelines of a ball.

Fleshing out what Colin walking in the room and falling for every detail of Penelope’s face and body before kissing her once looks like.

Dancing in the square together. Him realizing that he’s outside of the ton’s disdain.

Meeting when they’re kids. Flashbacks to pen falling in love. a 12 year love story even without a time jump. Give me 8 year old pen meeting 10 or 11 year old Colin. Give me childhood friendship in its purity

Their first kiss, fleshing out all the signs that would have led up to her asking for the kiss, like him staring deeply into her eyes and leaning in and nearly kissing her, repeatedly, until she’s like ‘I’m gonna die before this guy ever kisses me” and she snaps. all of the aftermath of their first kiss could be expanded upon. Her thinking he pities her. Him wanting to pity her so he doesn’t have to face his feelings, slowly driving him insane until he has to kiss her again. Him walking away from the scene in a fit with everything left up in the air to have to be rehashed out the next time they see each other. Give me Colin thinking it was the most glorious kiss of his life and everything else he’s ever known is rubbish and he just takes a long walk in the rain. He’s dazed and confused and an IDIOT.

In fact the next time they see each other, I want Pen’s anxiety, her embarrassment, her shame, her thinking he is still acting out of pity. Calling him “Mr. Bridgerton” because what else do you say to a guy you just kissed??? I want Colin-heart-eyes Bridgeton stumbling over his words and actions and not being able to look away and Lady D just being like “👀”

Fleshing out the aftermath of him finding out she’s LW and it means she broke up him and marina (I say this after their talk in 205).

Lady Danbury having the entire ton go head to head for money to unmask lady whistledown. The ton actually going on a hunt.

ThE CArRiAge ScENe. the teasing. the stoping and starting on giving her pleasure. the giggles, the moans. taking it away until she complies. give me all of it. expand on it. Colin getting her dressed again. Show me how she looked freshly fucked when stepping out of the carriage and Colin’s dark humor when he says “oh they’ll notice how you look” the butler’s face to what her appearance is. I WANT IT ALL.

Colin convincing her she’s beautiful. 

Colin kissing her deeper when she’s about to object so to stop her from talking but also to make her lightheaded. also because he’s having fun and because she likes it.

Colin looking to external sources to figure out if he’s in love, including a deep talk with his sister that makes her want to figure out who he’s in love with. She could bring it up to the family. now all the bridgertons know Colin is smitten but they can’t figure it out because they don’t guess that it’s Pen. 

Colin being so used to how his brother and parents displayed love that he can’t recognize it himself. That tiny paragraph where Colin kissing Pen to figure out if he’s in love but it just makes him horny. Poor guy never thought to look inside to see how he feels about it himself. He looks for a lightning strike. What does that look like in the tv show instead of an internal monologue in the books?

Pen realizing she can be more than just a fly on a wall without a voice who can’t stand up for what she wants. Play that out in 3 different scenes, at least. have her rise to her own character with Colin pining in the background.

the fall out of the last scene in season 2, pen’s anger and disloyalty as lady whistledown to the Bridgeton family. her anger toward’s Colin. her knowledge that no matter what he does for their season, it wouldn’t be because he wanted to court her. Colin having to apologize and make up for it. Colin having to explain and beg for forgiveness, but it doesn’t matter because he did it in public and that requires more than just a personal apology.

Fleshing out Colin being extremely jealous of pen’s purpose.

Fleshing out Pen thinking Colin is ashamed of her.

Colin being in demand now that the viscount is married, other girls pining over him but he’s looking at pen, who is mad at him and isn’t looking back at him. we come full circle.

Colin asking for her hand in marriage and Portia trying to get Colin to marry Prudence (instead of felicity). Colin realizing that Pen is invisible in her own household.

Telling the Bridgeton family that they’re engaged, with reactions. I want a reaction for each memeber, I want to see Violets ecstaticness and Eloise’s absolute confusion.

Pen being a friend with every lady at the Bridgerton house with weekly tea gatherings.

Colin being angry with her for releasing another LW issue, fleshing out his anger and the battle he feels with loving her and wanting her to stay.

Colin fighting, planning, scheming to protect Pen’s reputation and honor while revealing her identity. Not because he loves her or anything. Oh no. not mr. compartmentalization. this is his dearest friend, why wouldn’t he fight, plan and scheme for her??? no thoughts, head empty. just pen.

Colin wanting to tie pen to a bed to stop her from causing trouble. Expand on that.   …..please. for science….

Give us a mirror scene, a mirror clip. 2 seconds of mirror, if you will.

Colin sweetly cradling Pen’s face, asking her to “stay” three times in a row between kisses and leading her to the bed. Because he loves her. his love declaration. HIS LOVE DECLARATION. Their story starts out with him wanting her to not leave (after he cuts his hand) and he doesn’t ask her to stay. And it comes full circle with him knowing that as she grabs the door handle it would be the worst mistake of his life if he let her leave and he freaking. begs her to stay. between kisses! Begging between kisses!!! and then continuing on to absolutely ravish her body while telling her how much he loves her. Is it hot in here or is it just me?

In fact, give us them going to town on each other while a ball is being held downstairs. Flash back up to what’s happening upstairs in the middle of someone else’s subplot.

Colin making out with Pen, on a balcony, in front of the entire ton. I would pay them 10cents to give me this scene in full. I would give them a full dollar if they change it to happen before they’re engaged in public and that’s actually him revealing his relationship with her.

Cressida blackmailing pen, Colin reacting to it. Cressida and Pen going head to head. Cressida failing. Cressida screaming at them in the middle of a ball but she can’t be heard because they’re literally making out on a balcony in front of the entire ton. Brownie points if I get to see any Bridgerton reaction.  Sorry but yes. I do think Polin can carry an entire season. They have so much conflict and drama right now between the both of them, it would be perfect for the internal conflict Colin experiences while falling in love with her and the struggles could be played out between both of them on screen together.

We all sit here and analyze the overlap between Wylan and Kaz and how that played a role in Jesper’s attraction to each of them in regards to their ambition, intelligence, proclivity for murder, fearlessness, etc.

And to be clear? We’re totally right. Jesper does have a type and it’s for pretty faces who are wicked smart with tragic backstories and are violent motherfuckers….

…but it’s gonna be Nina Zenik who will loudly say over family dinner that Jesper Fahey is a gold digger. Jesper can argue all he wants but she’s gonna say he totally had a thing for a merchant kid and barrel boss. Evidence points to a gold digger smh. And you know what? Kaz is gonna be an asshole and agree.

Wylan would take Jesper’s side….up until they start fighting about something else three months later and Wylan suddenly goes “AT LEAST IM NOT A GOLD DIGGER” and Jesper writes to Nina that’s he’s coming to Ravka to hunt her down.
