I wonder how well an "It's just an empty box" episode of Game Changer would go. Just a series of challenges that look fucking suspicious as hell but with absolutely nothing more than face value about them. Then you just have Sam act suspicious the entire episode and see where things go from there. Ideas I have are:

Ominous spotlight illuminates one of the players.

Pick a word someone says or action someone does a lot. Play a little chime anytime it happens.

Legal paperwork is brought out mid episode. It's dense and 200-300 pages thick.

A small black box is brought out. There's a small hole cut in it. Sam says the box is definitely empty and they just have to put their hands in. Don't worry, there's nothing there. Why are you crying?

Randomly start saying "Sam Says" but assure contestants they're not playing Sam Says.

Drop a mannequin from the ceiling.

This has been my pitch for "Give Brennan an ulcer 2024."

Brennan Lee Mulligan on Dimension 20 is a harsh but ultimately benevolent god, who subjects his players to harrowing trials which they curse him for in the moment, but later come to appreciate were for their benefit and enjoyment.

Sam Reich on Game Changer, on the other hand, is a cruel and capricious god who mocks and torments his players with games he has deviously designed to distress and enrage them, all for his own amusement and the attention of the masses.

I'm listening to Murph on a podcast episode from 2020 (The Curiosity Podcast - spotify/apple podcasts/podbean) and I feel like I'm getting to know so much Murph Lore, much of which makes him very relatable to me like

people are shocked to learn he does comedy because he's so quiet, and he's not particularly good at meeting new people or making friends, so he hangs on to and appreciates the friends he has

looking after the stray cats, "to help an animal help its young and make sure they're all taken care of has been a wonderful thing that makes me feel feelings that I've never had before"

he has a lot of anxiety and "everything is very go, go, go, go, go" for him and there's no better feeling than finally finishing a project and not having anything going on for a few days, as opposed to enjoying the process - the feeling of "resting from my own mind, resting from my own anxieties"

it's important to acknowledge "perfect moments" when things are very nice (not even just big, important things). especially when it comes to depression and anxiety, you have to "hack your brain and in your mind be like - this is fun. you're having fun. this is nice" (kind of a mood and actually solid advice that we literally talked about in my therapy group today)

What is or isn’t a slur can be highly contextual, y'all.

“Jonny Sims bummed a fag off my ma” doesn’t contain a slur, but “What are you, some kind of fag?” does.

“Queer studies”, “the queer community” and “I’m queer”? Not a slur. Some bigot calling you a “dirty queer”? Slur.

“Be gay, do crimes” and “He’s gay” ≠ slur, but “Ew, that’s so gay” = slur.

In conclusion, stop buying into this fucking “q slur” bullshit. Queer people talking about the queer community aren’t using it as a slur any more than a gay man calling himself gay is using that term as a slur.
