Maybe it seemed strange to others that she was always so happy when it came to anything revolving about her job. Though, she couldn’t see any reason not to be happy. She was making enough money to live fairly comfortably in comparison to how she had had to live before. And she got to work amongst children . . Children who trusted her and could come to her for support if they needed it. Being able to provide that to them . . That safety net she had never had, it made Kanna feel that much happier.

Waving it off with a soft ‘pshh,’ she takes a few steps forwards, “ Helping out is never a bother, Miura-san. Besides . . All my day consists of after I leave the building is going home, making dinner, and grading papers occasionally. And seeing as how I have no papers to grade today . . I really wouldn’t mind!” It’s upon hearing his warning that Kanna seems to stiffen a bit.

“ That settles it! I had no idea but . . If it’s truly become dangerous, then theres no way I can leave a student here by themselves, let alone travel home on their own in such conditions . . So, even if you don’t want me to help, I’m going to have to stay here until you decide to go home . . And then I’ll escort you!”

       OF COURSE, HE DIDN’T MIND if Hayashi-sensei wanted to help out with his workload, but the very fact that she was trying to be a guardian to him at these trying times almost made him want to simply be mean to her in an attempt to scare her off early! the grail war was no laughing matter; it certainly wasn’t when he was chosen as one of its Masters to fight the six others to the death, so for an innocent person like Hayashi-sensei to offer herself up to escort him home was akin for her to be digging her own grave.

       “ a-are you serious?! “ he exclaims, a little ruder than he would’ve liked, but if it would drive her off, it would have to do. “ Hayashi-sensei, do you even read the news?! things are getting destroyed for no apparent reason, kids are falling sick and hospitals can’t do anything about them.....it’s really for the best if you go home early, I’m technically fine on my own..... “

       he wasn’t even hiding the fact that indeed, he was shooing out his teacher for the sake of her own safety, but even if it looked as if he regarded her as a right nuisance ( which definitely, she wasn’t! ), if it’s what it takes, it’ll have to do.

Almost instantly, Assassin quieted. He lets his gloved hand be taken and inspected for what felt like the thousandth time, and again assumed the role of an apologetic, pathetic dog. “I… apologize, Christine.” Though it tore at Assassin’s heart to see Christine be anything but perfectly content and satisfied in this life,  it was… useful to know this upset him. Yes. It upset him oh so very much. “Rider aggravated me when I should not have been. I would loved to have torn out their throat and presented it to you!” Before he can grow excited again, he distantly remembers that perhaps Christine would not have liked such a gift. “I could not, however. I am… sorry for disrupting your plans.”

       IF THERE WAS ONE THING that Miura easily takes, it would be an apology, and it served to suffice as soon as the Assassin expressed his deepest regrets. it simply did no good for him to continue being cross and angry lest he seem like a fool ( or worse yet, raise his already mounting blood pressure - to die at a young age because of something as silly as blood pressure would be truly, truly pathetic! ), and Miura can only settle for a sigh and another careful inspection of his Servant’s arm.

       the feeling of a clawed hand, long and sharp at the fingers as Miura gently holds it was unharmed, and the upper arm was as is as well. it was a handiwork well done - healing by magical means would drive hospitals out of business, and he gently smooths a thumb on the Assassin’s arm as he thinks back on the previous night where this very same arm was wounded greatly. and the blood on the pavement only served to make him panic, to send his brain into overdrive as he thought on whether to think of another plan, or to haul himself there to fight.

       “ .....alright, alright, you’re apologetic enough, “ he acquiesces. “ don’t apologize anymore - so long as you know your faults, that is good enough. I’m simply worried about you, Erik, so if you feel any pain, you have to tell me, alright? goodness, it’s not the plans that I’m angry about, it’s about you getting hurt, so.... “
