hyyh yoonkook works like this; they both recognise in each other the same dark little thing. they make mistakes, fall together violently in a way that draws wary glances from onlookers. inevitably, jungkook latches on to some form of connection. inevitably, yoongi hurts him. sharp words, physical punches, drives him away like he knew he would - a self-fulfilling prophecy.

here's where it diverts; jungkook comes back. yoongi hurts him but jungkook comes back because pain is a feeling and god was he tired of not feeling. here's where it diverts; jungkook comes back and yoongi has never had someone stay. he knows its wrong, knows how fucked up it is that the pain is part of the reason the younger keeps coming back but *he came back* and yoongi is too floored by this fact, too weak to send him away.

here's how it will go; yoongi and jungkook are two boys too sad and lonely for their own good so they will come back to each other every time, enablers of each others unhealthy coping mechanisms. they will bite each other, claw, set the room on fire but they will also sit in companionable silence, play the piano, touch each other where no one else has been able to. they will die. they will not be able to save each other, they might be making it worse but.

hyyh yoonkook is a slowmotion trainwreck which everyone watches with morbid fascination most of all the two boys in the drivers cabin.
