The fact that Tolkien realized he’d created inconsistency for LotR with the first published version of The Hobbit and then retconned it with the in universe explanation of “Bilbo is a liar,” is never going to stop being both equal parts brilliant and funny.

I love genuinely innocent “boys will be boys.” Just saw a guy come out of a frat house to poke a pair of jeans they’d left outside - they were frozen solid, and as soon as he confirmed that, like twenty more boys came rushing out of the house going “YOOOOOOOOOO”

saying “you are a burden on society” is just such a weird framing of priorities It’s like saying “wow, think how much better gas mileage your car would get if you weren’t sitting in it” or “think how dry that umbrella would be if you weren’t holding it in between you and the rainstorm”. the things we create? they’re for us. they are meant to carry us. they are meant to protect us. we are meant to hold them up to keep us dry.

It's really nice to meet another christian who Likes Billy Batson as well :D!
(;w; very hard for me to find other christians in this site)
I'm curious, When did you start getting into DC? And when did you start reading shazam?
Oof umm I think it was in 2012/2013. I have always loved super heroes but it wasn't until after I finished scool that I really had time to start watching the dc shows on TV like the Batman and Young Justice that (at that time it was also Avengers Earth's mightiest heroes, that I was able to look into discovering who my favourite heroes actually were. I don't have easy access to comic book shops so I usually only read graphic novels when I can get them from the library or buy them If I have already researched or know I will like them.

"not enough people are buying video games because of piracy" perhaps it has to due with the "unfinished game that you have to buy DLC to get basic features for" business model

how long do you think it will be until a big name author starts sending cease and desists to or requesting royalties from fanfiction authors that take payment for their works?
Our fandom forbearers did NOT suffer through Anne Rice, strikethrough, and other bullshit for fucking ACOTAR and Harry Potter fans to fucking ruin it for all of us by selling fanfiction. I am not losing novel length yaoi epics because some of you don't know how to act in fannish spaces and yes I do blame the booktokification of fanfic but I also blame those of you that treat fandom like content to consume and not a community to engage with.

There's something so crunchy and rich about a character who genuinely, courageously, and vehemently tries to do the right thing all the time... but because the world is complicated and they don't always have all the information, they don't always know what the right thing is or the efforts they do end up not working out like they thought.
It's interesting, leads to excellent conflict and character exploration. It gets a good theme with regarding what is the right thing in complicated circumstances, and can lead to interesting plots and consequences. It's realistic in a good way.

Literally no one in the pro life movement actually believes miscarriage care, ectopic pregnancies, and pregnancy complications are equivalent to abortions. That’s a pro choice fantasy. Here’s proof from the laws themselves:

Reminder that Easter is actually a pagan holiday that was appropriated by Christianity. Just like Christmas.
