Oh...he lived? That kind of ruined the fun of things, didn't it? Not only was he alive, but he was pissed as hell, too. Aw man, there goes all her fun. Guess she might as well take away the night blindness....wait. An evil idea just popped into her head. This would be such a good prank! Snickering to herself quietly now that the man was actually standing up and more perceptive, she once again flew into the air a bit and took on a distressed tone of voice, sounding almost like a completely different person. All the singing she did helped with voice training, too. 

"That wasn't me~♪! Some mean girl came in and laughed at you~♪! I chased her off though~♪! Can you not see? They say that if you suddenly go blind at night, it's because of a night sparrow~♪! I know a way to cure it, but it is a little weird~♪..." Mystia once again giggled to herself very quietly at what she was about to tell the man. "You have to....kiss a lamprey~♪! Right on the mouth~♪! I know it's gross, but I know it works~♪! My mom used to do it all the time~♪!" That might have been the biggest lie she ever told before, but she knew it would pay off to hold in her laughter that was threatening to overflow. Now she had to wait to see if the man believed her.

actually I think I'll make Mystia a host for some of this event, only for a few threads max though because she....doesn't have many memories that are stated in canon. but if you want to thread with her then just send me an ask!

He actually fell! He fell face-first into the water! Mystia tried to contain her laughter for a bit but when the man started flailing around the night sparrow couldn't hold it in anymore. Still flying, Mystia burst into laughter, clutching her sides while the human flailed wildly in the pretty shallow water. She thought it couldn't get any funnier until a lamprey latched onto the mans face, inciting him to scream further. This was probably the funniest thing Mystia had seen...ever! She was laughing so hard she could barely even fly anymore, sitting down on the shore next to the river.

Ahahahahahahaha!! You look so funny!! You're the funniest human I've ever met!! Are you gonna die?! That'd be even funnier!!" Mystia was in pain at this point from laughing so hard. She considered helping the human, but it was so funny she could hardly move. It'd be even funnier if he did die, so she waited to see if that would happen. She really hoped it did!

Perfect! He was night blind, just like she wanted him to be. It was always so much fun to trick and prank and hunt humans like this. On any other occasion she would have just eaten this human here and now, but given that she was considerably weaker than normal, she decided not to. Instead...a bright idea popped into her mind. She even giggled to herself at how funny this prank would be. Still flying around the human, she stopped singing and instead took on a distressed tone of voice.

"Oh no, oh no~♪! It's suddenly got so dark~♪! Here, here, follow my voice~♪!" As she sung in this distressed tone of voice, she slowly flew over the river so that the human would trip on her well placed rock and fall face first right into the river...while still being blind! It took all Mystia had to not burst out laughing at just the thought of it. Maybe another lamprey would latch onto him!

alright i think ill just have mystia be a passenger because none of her memories are too interesting (most would include just selling lamprey, probably), so let me know if you want mystia to enter your memory or anything if youre a host!

like mostly just the whole entering other peoples memories and people entering your memories and being a host in general really confuses me?? idk what it would be like to role play that out is all

im thinking of making mystia a host for this event but theres not rly any memory for her to go back to? shes only been in two games so i could go back to the PoFV memories...someone could really fuck around in there but i still dont really fully understand the event so i cant rly do anything

Hauling a bag full of almost twenty lamprey while flying with weakened wings was very, very tiring, so Mystia took breaks rather liberally while flying back to the meeting place where Alice was. For a second she thought that it might have been rude to leave her waiting there, but she banished the thought almost instantly because she didn't really care how long she made Alice wait, anyways. When Mystia finally arrived at the meeting point, she was rather surprised at what she saw. The stall looked...different than how hers had before. Much bigger, for one. Mystia was surprised that Alice built such a big stall in such a short time. Seeing her stall all bigger and better filled her heart with childish joy as she threw her giant bag of lamprey to the side (accidentally at Alice) and ran towards the stall, inspecting every inch of it with the excitement of a little kid.

"My stall is so much bigger and better~♪! How much grilled lamprey can I make in this~♪? Alice did such a better job than I expected~♪! Thanks, magician~♪!" She only said thanks due to her being so happy she didn't even notice it slip out, even after she said it. She was too busy turning on and off the equipment and messing with every aspect of the new stall. It was just like watching a kid with a new toy, really.

✪ Her second encounter with the night sparrow that lurked around Gensokyo’s Human Village had certainly left the magician with a far different impression than the first. Of course, their first meeting had involved Marisa and Alice beating the crap out of her but… details. Never in her wildest dreams (or nightmares) did she think she’d end up the impromptu business partner of Mystia Lorelei selling lamprey of all things. Alice hadn’t even a clue about whether or not this city had lamprey, and yet…

Holding up her end of the bargain, she’d spent the entire night crafting a stall. Alice was absurdly good with her hands, so designing and decorating something so simple was child’s play when compared to producing a doll. Of course, Shanghai helped. Still, it was fortunate that as a magician, she didn’t require sleep.

"And as you can see, it’s mostly done!" Words were proud as she exclaimed to her bird-brained partner, whom had finally arrived after being gone for goodness knows how long. The stall had a hand-crafted charm to it, big enough to fit several employees while also containing the equipment required to cook the lamprey — digging in to the little money she had left, at that. 

"So, I did well, right? Of course I did. It’s your turn to praise me now, Mystia Lorelei!"

By a stroke of luck the lamprey was stopped in midair by...a human. The face of a human, to be more accurate. Seeing this made Mystia smile, but the following reaction was even funnier. She was laughing so hard at the human freaking out over the lamprey that she toppled over onto her side. Seeing even a youkai react like that would be hysterical! She recovered quickly from her laughter though as she remembered that she had to get the lamprey before the human did something with it. She flew over to him and roughly yanked the lamprey off his face and then threw it into the bag, then giggled to herself again. That reaction was priceless. 

But wait...she had an idea. If this man was a human, then she could inflict night blindness on him! She knew she didn't have many uses, but this guy seemed like he would be fun to prank. Judging by his reaction to the lamprey, she wondered what other kind of reactions she could get out of him. Once she properly tied up the bag of lamprey to insure that none escaped, she gently glided over to the human and began to sing.

"Human, why are you out at night~♪? Don't you know the legend of the night sparrow~♪?" She circled him while flying a bit off the ground while singing, slowly inflicting night blindness on him as she sung. She wondered how he would react to this.

Mystia took the pat to the head in stride, feeling it was very deserved for her very smart plan. Maybe she took it so well because she was part animal? It did feel very natural, after all. Alice's question brought Mystia's train of thought back on course. After hearing the question she smiled brightly and arrogantly yet again. She actually had a reason this time.

"Ah, you see, lampreys are thought to cure night blindness so when I give it to them when they are able to see again, they think that the lamprey "cured" them~♪! Also, I'm just good at cooking lamprey~♪! I don't really cook anything else~♪!" She even said the last part with utmost confidence and arrogance. It was true though, she is a very good lamprey cook. Alice'll find out soon. 

"Now, how about you start making the stand~♪? Before all it was was a small cart and a sign, but I'm sure you can make something much better~♪! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go catch some lamprey for us~♪" With this being said, Mystia began flapping her wings and flying away in the general direction of where she thought the river was. There were sure to be some lamprey there!

✪ Fortunately for Mystia, while Alice could sympathize with the humans that fell for her trap, she also understood as a youkai that such a plan would be considered praise worthy. Youkai were supposed to scare and prey upon humans, after all, she’d known that even before casting away her own humanity. So… she couldn’t really scold her. And it wasn’t like Alice was personally affected by the bird conning some humans in this city. She had morals, sure, but she had the capacity to overlook them too.

The doll maker, ultimately, reached out and pat the youkai upon the head. It was hard not to with that proud face that so quite earnestly desired praise. “Yes, yes, it’s a good plan, Mystia. Very smart of you.” She still felt a little bad for the people that would inevitably be tricked, though. “Doesn’t that work in your favor, though? I mean, if you could blind them, even if we served something that wasn’t lamprey, they wouldn’t be able to tell, right?” That’s the spirit, Alice.
