What are Billie and Tomek's prefered music tastes?

Billie has a preference for hyperpop, industrial metal, and a lil bit of nu metal.

Tomek also similarly leans towards metal, though lighter stuff like Ghost. Gotta process going to Catholic School somehow. Outside that, he's more into grungy or folky alternative stuff.

Has your OC ever made a conscious decision to make a fresh start? Or have they even reinvented themselves completely? What did they hope to leave behind? Was it truly possible to do so?

Is your OC skilled in repairing or rebuilding what is broken or worn? Or would they sooner dispose of something and replace it with something new and (perhaps) better?

Was your OC considered to be a cute baby? Are there any pictures or keepsakes from this time in their life? If they were never a baby then what sense do they make of the helplessness and dependence of tiny babies? (I know this one probably applies more to Billie than Tomek, but I'd still be curious if the Campbell's have family photos of all of them together!)

Billie - Not really. Even when she was introduced formally to the life of a Black Dragon, it didn't lead to any reinventions. If anything, Billie became more herself in that environment. Able to be as crass and abrasive as she always wanted to be, though she does certainly have gripes on how that life got chosen for herself and Tomek.

Tomek - You could say he's be reinvented twice, though neither events were particularly by his choice. Between Shang Tsung's designs for his biology and Kano's drive to perpetuate the Black Dragon Clan's influence and power, there's not a lot of room for self determination. Though he certainly dreams of one day being able to seize a fresh start, he knows the sword of Damocles would be ever present over his neck. Waiting to slice him open and reveal his inhuman origins one way or another.

Is your OC skilled in repairing or rebuilding what is broken or worn? Or would they sooner dispose of something and replace it with something new and (perhaps) better?

Billie - Largely no. Most things are sent off for someone else to fix, or quickly upgraded when newer better things come along. There are a few items she insists on maintaining herself though. Such as knives gifted to her by Kano.

Tomek - The opposite of Billie. Partially born out of how he clings to their childhood, there's a lot he's learned to fix or preserve. Clothes, childhood toys, electronics. Always chafing at the way Kano would just replace things. Later on extending the guns and gear he designs for himself, though the initial fabrication will be handled be more professional hands.

Billie - Absolutely a cute baby. Kano certainly recorded a few pictures of her with his cybernetic eye when she was born and began taking even more once he was reunited with her. Perhaps more than a little sore that he missed out on the first two months of her development. Skarlet meanwhile keeps the blanket and baby wrap that was used to carry Billie around the Lifeblood Temple in a box. A reminder of both her daughter and her home in Outworld.

Tomek - Photos? No. Extensive diagrams, both inside and out, along with meticulous notes? Yes. Unsettling and cruel documents made by Shang Tsung that lay buried in one of Kano's safes most of the time. And while Skarlet may have missed his baby days, she certainly found him an adorable toddler. The only real keepsake from that time being the stone he decided to take from the beach.

As Skarlet and Kano ease into the facade of being a relatively normal family, they start to take more photos. Most are of some combination of Skarlet, Tomek, and Billie. Kano rarely features on account of being the one usually taking the pictures. Skarlet tries occasionally... but they always end up off center or with a finger over the lens.

- The Outworld Gunslinger -

| Erron Black, born and raised in Wickett, Texas. An average student with an average life in a nowhere dead-end town. Parents; deceased. No siblings. No criminal record until he popped up among the throngs of Black Dragon goons. At least, that's the cover story Kano spun when the gunslinger showed up on his doorstep. Crafted from the few crumbs of information he managed to pry out of that perpetually masked mouth. The truth being something that had to be carefully guarded from everyone.

A mercenary born in the 1800s returning from another world to one he hadn't seen in a hundred years. His task; to be a liaison facilitating the movement of gold, weapons, and information between The Black Dragon Clan and his employers in Outworld. The Emperor Shao Kahn and his sorcerer Shang Tsung.

Aside from the occasional gripe to himself about how loud and bright and crowded Earthrealm had become and the clothes he had to wear to maintain his cover, it seemed like a perfect job. It payed well, he fit in with the violent crowd, and he could take jobs from Kano as he pleased for extra pay and thrills to occupy his time.

More than once, Kano made the offer to hire him on permanently. To make the other-worldly cowboy a proper part of the clan. He was always rebuffed. Shao Kahn paid too well, the gunslinger would always say, and the cost to break that contract was far too steep.

Still, Kano always assumed he was next in line to employ Erron Black's services. Imagine his surprise when the man who claimed so often that he'd take just about any job for the right amount of koin vanished during the disastrous tournaments leading up to Shao Kahn's failed invasion. Only to resurface years later, once again as a liaison seeking to purchase goods for a ruler of Outworld.

One more interested in bringing stability to the tumultuous Empire of Outworld.

#mk nightrider #Erron Black #Put more plainly in Nightrider the Past Erron Black that appeared in MK11 does exist. #However it is pretty much just a disguise he wore. Put together by Kano so he would blend in better with the rest of the Clan's goons.

Erron’s attention snapped up, a familiar grating voice within earshot. Throwing down closed canteens as he settled behind the Temple’s stonework, just out of sight. The Black Dragon’s voice made the scar on his chest burn, half expecting to be found or ratted out. Seemed like the pattern he was going into, doing the right thing always ended with many a scar on weathered skin. Skarlet’s arms went tight around the wrap on her chest, a pace picking up to nearly a sprint as Kano caught her in an embrace. The two were wary, not to squish their daughter in between them as free hands caught one another’s cheeks. Despite the stench of alcohol lingering on his person, their lips crashed together. Desperate and passionate, the months apart full of despair and tension quickly melting away. Soft words spoken in greeting, loving comments towards how big their daughter had grown in such a short time. Still, Tomek moved back a bit. For once, sitting closer to Erron’s steed than his mother. Something stirred within him, unfamiliar feelings of anger that were not of his own, at war with feelings of relief, and of apprehension. Too young to vocalize, too young to distinguish what he felt, not what his other halves felt. He could only stare, sienna eyes burning a hole through his surrogate father. Nearly matching that of the cowboy’s who ducked behind the siding of the Temple. When the couple parted, conversation hadn’t been spoken, a sharp glare moving towards the horse… He knew that horse. Tomek scurried behind Skarlet’s robes when Kano stared back, still unhappy to see the man who pried him and his mother away from their home on the island. “Where’s the bloody cowboy?”  Nearly the first words out of Kano’s mouth, strained and demanding, his hands settled on his lover’s shoulders. Skarlet’s expression twisted a bit, brushing him off as her hand raised to pop him in the jaw.

The Mage’s words made his ears redden under matted curls, a bit embarrassed she read him so easily. Suppose his guards had been let down at the sight of Little Him. “Ain’t trying to be his, or anyone else’s, Pa… I just - “ “Good. We agree on that much…” Skarlet muttered something under her breath about Kano already taking that title. Something that made bile burn in the back of the cowboy’s throat. She still talked about him like he stuck around, and something about the man that left him for dead raising -  “But, I still think you’re crazy… You got more guts than you could hang on a fence, keeping Shang Tsung’s work like some kinda… Kinda…” Erron trailed off a bit, trying to find the right word for it, “you wanna act like he’s your son, fine… But it don’t change that that boy’s a sick reminder of what that damn Sorcerer did to us!” She flinched, taken aback by the rise in his tone, her fingers laced together in front of her. Hazel eyes narrowing up towards him. Skarlet attempted to bite back, her own thoughts buried deep within her own desperation. The Matron’s words were still in the back of her mind. “Tomek and Wilhelmina are all Kane and I will ever have… But I do not expect you to understand that, Black. Shang Tsung’s work or not, he’s still a person.” “You weren’t sayin’ that about Mileena back in the day!” Erron snapped back, “you ain’t even got a damn clue if he’s just as feral or not! You would’ve saved a hell of a lot of heartbreak if you left him where ya found him…” Skarlet’s eyes widened, lips parting to speak, to raise her voice. The stress that piled up was nearly ready to spill. The old cowboy continued before she could even find the words. “You wanna risk your life havin’ that bastard’s baby, that’s one thing! This? This clone of us?! He might be all sweet’n sensitive now, Miss Skarlet, but what’re you even gonna tell him when he’s older? You gonna be honest with him, about where he came from? Either way that kid’s in for a helluva shock… Ain’t doubtin’ you ain’t a good mama. Doubtin’ you can handle what one of Shang Tsung’s ‘projects’ can do.” Erron Black’s posture straightened. Thumbs still locked in his belt loops, fingers tightened in a fist. His tone kept serious, expression still just as stern as when he started. Hardly a lick of empathy for the mother across from him. Perhaps it was the rage he buried so deep for his own mother, what he wouldn’t have given to tell her the same. To knock sense into her to be better.

Tomek - Probably one of the most reliable members of the Clan. With the feeling he has so much to prove and so much to lose hanging on him, he almost always brings his best when it comes to jobs or even favors.

Billie - Highly situationally dependent. Is your name Skarlet or Tomek? Probably not. And even then she'd want to be able to get something out of it.

Neither sibling is particularly inclined towards instruments.

Tomek - Could potentially find his way around a guitar or piano if given the time.

Billie - Would prefer to be dancing.

25 -

Tomek - After he got pulled from school, the house would get lonely when it just him trying to do online course work. Plenty of opportunity to poke his way through all the blockers and restrictions on the family computer to find his way to music that wasn't Kano's old collection of CDs. Finding songs to sing along to when he thinks he's alone and humming quietly when he thinks people are.

Billie - As per usual, Billie has no shame. Belting along to whatever is playing in her room or when she's taking a shower. At concerts, walking around the neighborhood, wherever. That is unless a certain object of her affections is around. Often she's told tone it down or cut it out by Tomek when he's trying to do something. Though more often, if their parents aren't around, Billie can pry open her brother's nervous shell and they'll belt together. Loudly, certainly out of tune, and laughing whenever one of them messes up a word.
