sometimes the moral of the story really is just "you cannot go back and what happened to you is going to be with you for the rest of your life. but it's still going to be okay" huh

I want dark circles, hollow cheekbones, sharp hip and collar bones, with messy hair and smudged eyeliner
I want to take my oversized sweater off and look shocking. I don’t want anyone to notice how thin I am until my bmi is as low as possible
I want them to say “when did you get so sk1nny”

One of the most twisted aspects of the Israeli propaganda machine is that it has so successfully conflated criticism of racist colonial violence with anti-semitism in the eyes of white Jewish people that white Jews genuinely experience attacks on their whiteness as attacks on their Jewishness.
I know it is (usually) not an attack on their Jewishness and that this could be avoided by literally just listening to Palestinian activists, but the body doesn’t know that. It experiences it and accumulates the damage the same as if they were being called a slur. The nervous system is primitive.
They protect their whiteness because they think they’re protecting their Jewishness when in fact what they’re protecting is the very ideology trying to kill them. It hurts Jews AND perpetuates a violent settler state. The victims of the largest-scale white supremacist project in history become unwitting champions of white supremacy. Two birds, one stone.
Mankind has never invented anything more vile than kyriarchy. It turns victims into abusers, over and over again, endlessly.
We’re all doomed to weaponize our unhealed traumas against other people until we make the decision to stop.

"The Qur'an mentions Israel loads of times but not Palestine"
It refers to the children of israel aka the Jewish community that was in Madinah. It is not the same apartheid state as we know of today. The Qur'an also mentions Masjid Al Aqsa, which was also the qibla before the Kabba became the qibla, which is in PALESTINE. This is why seeking knowledge is fard because of dumb people who say this thinking they won the argument.

it's very interesting to me how dua lipa and bella hadid were silenced when they were supporting Palestine but so many celebrities who are posting support of Israel now are simply being supported even though they have absolutely no idea what the fuck is actually going on and are just trying to be woke

also it was Israel who chose Hamas
This isn’t a conspiracy theory. Listen to former Israeli officials such as Brig. Gen. Yitzhak Segev, who was the Israeli military governor in Gaza in the early 1980s. Segev later told a New York Times reporter that he had helped finance the Palestinian Islamist movement as a “counterweight” to the secularists and leftists of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Fatah party, led by Yasser Arafat (who himself referred to Hamas as “a creature of Israel.”)“The Israeli government gave me a budget,” the retired brigadier general confessed, “and the military government gives to the mosques.”“Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel’s creation,” Avner Cohen, a former Israeli religious affairs official who worked in Gaza for more than two decades, told the Wall Street Journal in 2009. Back in the mid-1980s, Cohen even wrote an official report to his superiors warning them not to play divide-and-rule in the Occupied Territories, by backing Palestinian Islamists against Palestinian secularists. “I … suggest focusing our efforts on finding ways to break up this monster before this reality jumps in our face,” he wrote. They didn’t listen to him. And Hamas, as I explain in the fifth installment of my short film series for The Intercept on blowback, was the result. To be clear: First, the Israelis helped build up a militant strain of Palestinian political Islam, in the form of Hamas and its Muslim Brotherhood precursors; then, the Israelis switched tack and tried to bomb, besiege, and blockade it out of existence. In the past decade alone, Israel has gone to war with Hamas three times — in 2009, 2012, and 2014 — killing around 2,500 Palestinian civilians in Gaza in the process. Meanwhile, Hamas has killed far more Israeli civilians than any secular Palestinian militant group. This is the human cost of blowback.“When I look back at the chain of events, I think we made a mistake,” David Hacham, a former Arab affairs expert in the Israeli military who was based in Gaza in the 1980s, later remarked. “But at the time, nobody thought about the possible results.”They never do, do they?

“Some of us must urge the use of restraint. As we act, let us not become the evil we deplore.”
I remember that speech from Barbara Lee, only three days after September 11th, where she pleaded with Congress to stop, reflect, and allow calmer heads to prevail. That was right before George W. Bush eagerly declared war. Lee was right, of course. And all of the conservative Republican and Democratic warhawks were completely wrong. I always think about how much different - how much better - things might be today if politicians had listened to her back then.
Today, I wish there were more people and politicians calling for calmer heads.

Unjustified this, unprovoked that.
The fact that the Israeli defence minister declares they will be cutting off electricity, fuel, food and water off Gaza should be the one example you need in order to understand the disproportionate control Israel has over Palestinians and therefore its ability to inflict violence against Palestinians in ways you couldn't even imagine.
