When you find out Damerey was actually gonna be canon but a bunch of man babies on twitter complained so goddamn much about TLJ that Disney straight up FIRED THE DIRECTOR of Episode IX (which originally had a waaaay cooler title btw) who had written a script that was a perfect continuation of the trilogy and a brilliant conclusion to all nine movies so that they could bring back JJ Abrams because he made them so much $$$ with TFA who then took the barest details from the OG script and scrapped everything else to give us what was ultimately a far less satisfying film and a forced fan service “romance” that had absolutely no depth or impact at all.

I hate the internet.

In an effort to get hyped about TROS, despite my hesitance to do so, I’m focusing on the fact that there are going to be various canon Damerey interactions that are going to occur after these characters have spent a year getting to know each other. That’s gonna be some good shit.

Literally this movie was excellent. And there was barely any romance at all. That one kiss was total fan service and the film gained absolutely nothing by including it, but seriously, without any romance whatsoever it would have been brilliant. People are so pressed tho, it’s ridiculous.

TBH tho, why does there have to be a romantic ending for every single character in TROS?? Like, the world will not end if they all just end up enjoying each other’s company for the rest of time. And the movie will probably be a lot better if they aren’t spending half of it throwing all these characters together and forcing romantic relationships where they aren’t needed….
