Brothers, and a Sore Thumb ~~

Wanted to do something of Fluffy!Tyrael and Fluffy!Inarius interacting with each other. And CantankerRat somehow got mixed up in the fray.

If Rathma looks completely out of place here, good! He is actually drawn in a slightly different style than the other two, on account of being from a different Fic/Au/Thing

I am particularly pleased with how the damaged parts of Inarius's wings turned out

Thinkin' about Dragons, Wyrms, and Wyverns as they are in Cantankerous.

Dragons are mythical beings; the only two we know of are Tathemet, the literal Sum of All Evil, and Trag'Oul, the Sum of Humanity's Souls (among other things).

They are epic things, and so different from one another that to call them the same thing seems false, at the very least. There's no better word for them though.

Because dragons as a concept are very cool though, I thought Diablo deserved More Dragons. But like. Less mythical-aetherael, more terrifying-beast-that-you-could-slap-a-saddle-on-if-you're-batshit-enough. So, Wyrms.

Sanctuary, and everything in it, was made by angels and demons. Inarius himself had a big part in sculpting the planet, but everything else was made by his host and Lilith's followers. (No one talks about her followers enough smh.)

For the purposes of Cantankerous, Inarius did not make much else. He worked on the oceans, he created Arreat, he had a hand in the forests that became the planet's lungs. But when it came to life on Sanctuary, he left that to everyone else.

Except for Wyrms.

They started small, like little scaley winged snakes, but quickly grew larger and larger.

Large enough to ride even, by certain dour nephalem.

Why he made wyrms is very fanficy (maybe I'll get to it one day), but suffice to say he wanted these things to be powerful, and he wanted them to be his in a way not much else on Sanctuary was. He wanted big living WMDs bound to him by 'blood', such than an angel has it.

All it took was a little light-blood, a bit of willpower, and the worldstone, and Sanctuary had its own dragons. Wyverns were not intentionally made by Inarius, but rather a result of the tuning of the worldstone. Turned out in addition to dampening the nephalem it dampened the planet on the whole, and this included the offspring of his Wyrms.

So Inarius made Wyrms. Initially he made three, one of his own, one for Linarian, one for Lilith. Maybe he made more after that, or maybe he left the lizards to their own devices.

Might could be considered half-siblings bcuz of this thing.

Inarius made them both by way of donating his own essence (not like that, step away from the gutter). If that makes him Rathma's father, stands to reason he's the father of anything else made that way. The wyrms just have the worldstone for a mom, where Rat has a Lilith.

How does Rathma react to Inarius after he calms down?( If at all :D ) That's one curiosity. Another is that as the guys are currently standing (Muffy I don't know if he's angry or curious, I couldn't tell) fluff rathma walks in determined to drag Inarius and Muffy back. That is, if he can travel. And of course I'm curious about Malthael's curiosity myself.

Okay even after explanations, Rathma is still extremely uncomfortable with Inarius. His relationship with his own father is monstrously complicated, and this is basically a twilight-zone version of that.

Fluffy-Inarius is overly-friendly, as compensation for being big and scary but also for being a legitimate monster in the past. He ate some of the nephalem who rebelled, and then blew Fluffy-Rathma's wings off himself. Of course, he has no way of knowing CantankerRat's exact experiences with his own Inarius, but he just generally assumes it was nothing good, and tries to be way-too-nice as a weird quasi-apology.

All this results in an all around uncomfortable and awkward experience for CantankerRat.

Although he might come around after a few rounds of German-Shepherding by Ina.

If there's one thing Inarius excels at, its scaring people away from Depressive Death Boys. Rathma can appreciate a sentient shield.

As for Muffy, he just gets his ass kicked by his own Fluffy-Rathma. He wouldn't have much of an opinion on Mat, although he vaguely doesn't care for other Malthaels in general. (Funny enough, across fandom, it's been rare for two Malthaels to really get along. They tend to argue and be too sure of themselves to have a proper conversation that isn't just Smartass-Pissing-Contest)

F-R could care less what Ina does with his time, be that hassling Malthaels, hassling Rathmas, or getting hassled by Izuals. If they happen to end up in the same dimension, on the same planet, Oh Well. It's not his business, and he'd like to keep it that way.

Sorry CantankerRat, you're on your own.

At least he has Mat.

Ina on Ina violence

Classically, Inarius doesn't show up without a reason. Reaper has taken off running and Inarius is in a total panic. Given the situation ( I assume Mal and Rat are on the edge of the attack ). Inarius tries to explain that he doesn't want to hurt them, but instead needs their help. He then explains what actually went wrong at his house. The question is how the boys will react.

P.S.: what are the chances of the reaper getting to the realm where Rat and Mal live? P.P.S: Yep I'm a big fan :D

Fluffy-Inarius does have an odd habit of getting sucked into local sub-reality tears actually, the Dimension of Hair is very unstable cuz of some shenanigans his carrier pulled.

And unfortunately, Muffy is just as likely to get pulled along as he is. These two got up to SO much trouble.

Funny enough, Inarius can hop dimensions on purpose, but after Causing Some Significant Issues for other people, he really doesn't anymore. Or at least, he tries not to. If Rat and Mat were wary of Inarius, they are terrified in the face of Muffy. Or at least Rathma is. Mat might be a little morbidly curious.

And after the debacle with Mal from the Dimension of Biscuits, Ina ain't to keen to involve anyone under the height of 20'.

Fortunately for everyone,

Muffy has his own Rathma.

Rat and Mal meeting fluff Inarius xD They dont know about the other realm.

Okay this is extra fun bcuz Fluffy-Inarius is somewhere around 15 feet (4.5M) tall.

Rathma is around the 8 foot mark, and Malthael is just hedging 9 feet. He could hip check their faces into the ground.

They are a little bit terrified. Either this thing is Inarius (it sounds and feels like him in the aether) and he has transformed into a giant hair-monster, or its something that wants them to think its Inarius. And both options are pretty spooky, particularly for Rathma.

Lucky for them, Ina does actually know that they're not exactly from his dimension, and has no intention of fighting here.

Also, you made me realize I'd forgotten how to draw Ina. Weird.

Barbeque like old friends

I had some fun in the BG3 character creator because I was trying to figure out some things with Mal's hair. The exact cut sort of varies in my head based on both the point in the story and how I feel at that moment while writing. I'm inconsistent.

I do figure he spent that first year cutting it himself, and there's a non-zero chance this went on throughout the entire first series, because no one was going to tell him how uneven it all was. It does become more obvious the more the necro-silver comes out.

Then, of course, I had to test out the "someone gives Mal a proper haircut and he actually washes it well and maybe brushes it" and uh.

(Pardon the side part, it should be more in the middle.)

Excuse me, this doesn't look like a man who hides in trees and comes home soggy, covered in mud and guts. Maybe he looks like this further into Archfall, when he's been forbidden from dungeon diving for half a year and has some self-care imposed on him.

Less tongue in cheek, it does certainly give a feel for how he would look much more put together. Farah approved? She likes both.
