Mumfie Fans: A Real Gem
http://mumfieand.me
Mumfie is the cartoon elephant with a committed online fan base. Britt Allcroft’s Magical Adventures of Mumfie ran through the 1990s and gathered quite a following from both children and adults alike. Recently the Magical Adventures of Mumfie has gained a new lease of life online. A quick perusal of IMDB Mumfie the movie reviews shows the passion and love fans have for this childhood TV series even when they have left their youth behind. The fans use words like “underrated” and “one of the best cartoons in my youth” to describe this much-loved series. Some particularly emotional elements of the stories are remembered with fondness for the depth of feeling they evoked. One story line from the show in which Mumfie the elephant was fooled by the mysterious black cat with two faces, captured and was was distraught as he couldn't see any light at this stage “led to me crying my heart out for him,” writes one user on IMDB, Nichola Mcdougall.
The Magical Adventures of Mumfie is not just for children of course. Reviewers gush about the show’s appeal to all ages, the wide variety of memorable songs and the adorable and quirky characters such as the flying piglet, Pinkey, a live Scarecrow, a magical Black Cat and a whale that takes passengers. Still more enthusiasts suggest that the animation, the evocative cliffhangers and the humor were the highlights of the show. Whatever the key memory of Mumfie the elephant for each fan, however, what is very clear is the fact that a dedicated fan base has kept the memory of Mumfie with them even through its long absences from television. Reactions to the new Mumfie content remains to be seen, but fan support like this demonstrates the core appeal of Mumfie to both young and old alike.

Meet Mumfie and Friends
http://mumfieand.me
The characters that populate the world of Britt Allcroft’s Magical Adventures of Mumfie show are a big part of what makes the show fun and enjoyable for people of all ages. The simple lessons of courage and friendship are ones we would do well to remember throughout our lives.
In the Magical Adventures of Mumfie, we start with the wonderful Mumfie the elephant that drives the show with his strong, cheerful personality, his never flagging spirit and his determination to overcome obstacles. Where would Mumfie be without his friends to have adventures with? A good supporting cast is integral to any adventure, fictional or otherwise. Mumfie has the timid but imaginative Scarecrow, the courageous flying Pinkey, the fearful raven Napoleon Jones, the lonely but well-traveled Whale and the easy-going Eel.
A show with a strong ensemble cast like this has an important, intrinsic message of inclusion that can be lost among the more straightforward aspects. Mumfie should remind our children that no man is an island. It is important to learn early on how important it is to stick with your friends. Through Mumfie and his friends we learn that each of them has a role to play in helping the day come out right. Standing together is particularly important as children grow up in the potentially harsh world of playground politics and bullying that will dominate their lives for years to come. Not everyone can be Mumfie the elephant all the time; some of the time you are going to be Eel or Scarecrow, but that does not make you less important or less worthy. Just watch a few Mumfie clips or the Magic Adventures of Mumfie movie DVD with your children. Friendship is paramount and every individual has his or her worth are important messages packaged within an unassuming television show about an elephant named Mumfie.

A Mumfie Birthday Party
http://mumfieand.me
Children’s birthday parties are becoming more and more hard work as pressure mounts on parents to provide the perfect day. There are many aspects to consider when planning a birthday party. The location is of course all important. Of course, a home can be transformed into a party paradise with decorations and games to play. Eating food out at an ice cream or pizza place is a popular party option outside the house as long as it's within your budget. Another option is taking the children for a day out at the zoo or to a child-friendly museum. No matter where the party is held, however, most children want nothing more than to run around with their friends both real and imaginary. Keeping them out of trouble is half the battle.
Picking a cartoon theme helps children create a memorable occasion. It also helps to get your child involved in the process of planning the party. Television shows such as Mumfie the elephant make a perfect theme to help make your child’s special day magical.  As Mumfie is an animal, it prevents the gender divide inherent in princesses and superhero themes. Mumfie the elephant can be enjoyed by both boys and girls, so it will appeal to everyone on your party invite list. There are many elements that can be incorporated into a birthday party. There are activities from the new Mumfie website, including craft projects and coloring. The website also offers Mumfie clips to try out. If you have more time to fill, or to keep the children quiet for a while, there is also a new Mumfie DVD, which is available to buy or as a Magic Adventures of Mumfie download. There are hours of fun for children to indulge in with Mumfie and his friends.

Sing Along With Mumfie
http://mumfieand.me
Most music that's aimed at children is awful. So many CDs seem to contain endless renditions of the Wheels on the Bus and similarly repetitive, grating songs that leave any one with even a passing acquaintance with music wincing. What is worse is that children seem to know this and take great delight in finding the many verses of Wheels on the Bus or Ten Green Bottles to torment parents with. Showing an interest in music at an early age, however, ought to be encouraged. If only there were more variety to choose from.
In an effort to rid the world of Ten Green Bottles and its ilk we need to get children singing more complicated songs. Not that you should force your child to sing along to your favourite hits, but singing with them gives a bit more control and you’ll find there is a compromise to be reached. Finding songs for children that aren’t awful is not even as hard as it sounds. Some of the best of them seem to come from television and film. Take the songs from Britt Allcroft’s Magical Adventures of Mumfie. Mumfie the elephant was the star of a musical television show from the 1990s that has surprisingly melodic songs that you and your child will enjoy singing together. YouTube can be a great resource for Mumfie clips, as is the Mumfie and Me website that houses the Magical Adventures of Mumfie downloads. The tunes are of a Broadway style that is easy enough for children to sing but sufficiently interesting for an adult you can sing along too without pain or embarrassment. What's more, the Magical Adventures of Mumfie stories are fun, and the animation that accompanies the Mumfie clips is easy to watch.  In the end, what better bonding experience with your child than teaching each other to sing a new song?

Mumfie’s Story
http://mumfieand.me
Britt Allcroft’s Magical Adventures of Mumfie was a television show that ran in the 1990s. From watching Mumfie clips it is clear Allcroft is a storyteller. Indeed, storytelling is something she's been doing from a very young age and well into adulthood. She has worked on many different projects including Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends, The Magical Adventures of Mumfie, new Mumfie shows and the expansion of Mumfie’s website. In the show, Mumfie is an adventurer who experiences the ups and downs of life. Mumfie is in many ways a straightforward show about goodness in which the characters learn about the world around them. Though this isn't to say Mumfie’s adventures are oversimplified. In the course of the show he experiences darkness as well as the light. Of course, like Dorothy in Oz before him, he finds friends along the way. In Mumfie’s case Scarecrow, who is abandoned in a field, and Pinkey, a lost pig, are his core companions with whom he learns about courage and friendship.  Over time, Mumfie has also found new friends like Napoleon Jones, Whale and Eel to keep him company on his journeys.
It isn't just the story of Mumfie that makes the Magical Adventures of Mumfie so compelling, Britt Allcroft has created what she describes as “moving paintings” for the Mumfie artwork. The results are far beyond the yellow crayon illustrations she created at age nine. The Magical Adventures of Mumfie show also incorporates many musical elements. There are sixteen original songs throughout the show that children can sing along to, encouraging interaction and engagement. This helps to bring the show to life in new ways for viewers, and it's now possible to buy the Magical Adventures of Mumfie DVD.

Mumfie: Now and Then
http://mumfieand.me
Sharing passions with our children is one of the joys of parenting. If you can pass on your interests to your children, that experience will always strengthen the bond that holds you together, particularly if it was something you loved as a child too. However, so much of what people love as children quickly becomes outdated, and it can be hard to compete with new books, new films and new games. That's why it's so nice when you find something that has withstood the test of time. Something that has been reinvented to appeal to modern children without losing any of what made it so amazing when it first captured a child’s attention, however long ago that might have been.
Mumfie the elephant is the star of a series of books by Katherine Tozer, beloved by children in the 1930s. It was then transformed for another generation as a television show called “Here Comes Mumfie,” which used puppetry to enthuse the children of the 1970s. The combination of these two incarnations of Mumfie has culminated in his present incarnation in Britt Allcroft’s Magical Adventures of Mumfie. It's true that Mumfie has undergone some changes since the 1930s and his stories and companions have been updated, but at its heart new Mumfie is the same as Katharine Tozer’s Mumfie. Britt Allcroft herself, new Mumfie’s current creative force, acknowledges and celebrates the legacy of the Katherine Tozer books, which she claims inspired her to begin her work on this series. She has brought Mumfie the elephant into the digital age with Mumfie clips online and Magical Adventures of Mumfie downloads on the Mumfie and Me website.
If your child assumes you grew up in black and white, staring at the wall and waiting for a television to appear, remind him or her of Mumfie the elephant and how things that can stand the test of time are often the best.

Mumfie Returns Home
 http://mumfieand.me
Britt Allcroft is the mind behind the re-imagining of Mumfie the elephant. The recent television show is based on the original series of books by Katharine Tozer. She has written and produced “Britt Allcroft’s Magic Adventures of Mumfie” in the 1990s and in 2008 managed to reacquire the underlying rights.  This includes the rights to the Mumfie songs and the right to produce any new Mumfie productions. She acquired the rights from Bridge Films and HIT entertainment Group, which was more than satisfied with the sale.
A second chance to work with and create new Mumfie productions is a dream come true for Britt Allcroft. She was inspired by the books she had as a child to bring Mumfie the elephant to a new audience during the 1990s through the Magic Adventures of Mumfie television show.  Her passion and interest in the “special little elephant with a big heart” is evident in the way she speaks of her pet project and the character of Mumfie.
Allcroft wants to take advantage of new opportunities afforded her by digital and cable technology to expand the reach of Mumfie beyond its current audience. While it aired on television, the Magic Adventures of Mumfie with its wide variety of supporting characters was very popular both in the US on Fox and in the UK on ITV. In fact, Mumfie still claims a passionate Internet fan base that put Mumfie clips on YouTube and discusses Mumfie online. These clips are now available on the Mumfie and Me website.
Allcroft’s dream is to satisfy the need for truly family-based entertainment that parents and children can watch and enjoy together as they grow. She hopes she can give Mumfie the nurturing he needs and give the series a new lease of life for families everywhere.

Mumfie Craft Projects: Card Making
http://mumfieand.me
As we face the summer holidays, children’s attention spans seem to shorten and there's never enough for them to do. Mumfie the elephant, star of Britt Allcroft’s Magical Adventures of Mumfie, has a new home on Mumfie and Me. The activities section of the new Mumfie and Me website has plenty of options to keep your child busy. If your child has a soft spot for Mumfie, or even for cartoon elephants, cats and whales in general, this is a good place to start when you hear the familiar bored refrains.
Craft projects are a summer holidays staple, and what better place to start than card making. It is one of the simplest and most rewarding of craft projects because you can create something useful as well as decorative while having fun. All that is required is a decent printer and thin card stock.
Mumfie and Me has cards for all occasions and features all of the Magical Adventures of Mumfie characters you know and love. There are the special occasion cards, which range from a Mumfie the elephant “Be My Friend” card to a “You’re Electric” Eel card. Plus, if your child has birthday parties to attend, this kind of project is even better. Rather than traipsing to the shops to buy a generic birthday card, you and your child can head over to the Birthday Card section of the activities site and choose a picture to print, personalize and make into a card. Coloring in the picture and signing his or her name will give your child a sense of accomplishment and the opportunity to show how much he or she cares for his or her friends. When you have finished making cards for the day, then there’s plenty more to discover with Mumfie clips and downloads throughout the site.

Cost Saving Tips for Planning A Child’s Birthday Party
With an upcoming child’s birthday party to plan, limited funds can be a huge obstacle.  If you need to save money without sacrificing the fun your child deserves on this special day, there are a few tips that can help you cut costs in the planning process.  With a little creativity, you can throw a memorable party without going over budget.
Plan a Shared Birthday Celebration
One creative way of cutting costs, which can also benefit other parents, is to suggest a joint birthday celebration with other children.  Contact parents with children that have birthdays in the same month as your child to discuss the possibility of sharing the costs of a shared celebration.
Have a Party at Home
Many children’s birthday party venues come with a high price tag, making it difficult for many parents to afford.  By choosing to host the party at home, you can spend money on presents, décor, and other essentials without going over budget.  Transform your home with inexpensive or hand made decorations so your child enjoys a fun party.
Invitations
Another high cost birthday party item could be the party invitations.  If you choose professional party invitations, you could have issues sticking to the budget.  A low cost alternative could be creating hand made invitations or downloading templates from the internet.

Party Invitations
Invitations should be sent out 3 weeks prior to the party.  The invitations should match the party theme and can be professionally printed or hand made.  Parties with a theme based on your child’s favorite kid’s cartoon movies could include a request for costumes.  Have the guests dress as Mumfie, Pinkey, Scarecrow, and other characters from “The Magic Adventures of Mumfie”.
Party Décor, Music, and More

Themes
The party theme will be the key to personalizing the experience for your child.  Some popular themes include:
