You know whatâs astonishing about Katara? She grew up in a world without bending.
Itâs not surprising that Sokka calls her bending âmagic waterâ in the first episode. It might as well have been magic to them at that point; they had never seen it in practice until they meet Aang.
So not only did Katara not have any teachers, she didnât have any kind of guidance, no visual aids, no idea of how bending is supposed to look or work. The first time she ever sees actual waterbending movements is when she steals the waterbending scroll from the pirates. The first time she meets another waterbender is when she reaches the North Pole, where within weeks she outmasters pretty much everyone and goes on to teach the Avatar.
Everything she does is so incredibly impressive, and yet I canât help but feel the most proud of her when she catches a fish on that little boat.

look at me. listen to me. this is directed at americans for the record. the reason you think North American animals are boring is because you live here. there are so many cool and beautiful animals here. we have beavers. we have wolves. we have moose. we have sea lions. we have armadillos. we have mountain lions. we have alligators. we have foxes. we have bighorn sheep. we have manatees. we have bears. we have ocelots. we have BISON. and thatâs not even touching on the birds! or the turtles! or the snakes! we have amazing beautiful and diverse wildlife right here and it deserves to be appreciated and protected

Honestly, if you see an angel thatâs all eyes and wings and wheels of fire, you should be worried. Like, not because itâs going to hurt you or anything, but because scripturally, angels invariably appear to ordinary people in human form. In general, they only show their inhuman true forms to prophets â which means if youâre seeing them like that, they come bearing responsibility.

the scene in deathly hallows where harry and remus fight about whether harry should aim to kill is so great and itâs interesting to think about where sirius would have fallen in this argument, and imo it wouldâve been somewhere in the middle. because this is not just a random death eater, harry tells remus that stan shunpike is likely imperiusâd and remus is like âlmao whateverâ and looks aghast at harryâs concern.
in gof sirius condemns the way barty crouch ran the aurors and respects moody for the fact that he didnât âstoop to the level of the death eatersâ and brought suspects in alive. which was obviously shaped by siriusâs experiences in azkaban and being imprisoned without a trial despite being innocent. so hypothetically, he would understand where harryâs coming from esp considering stan is innocent, and be less flippant and probably admire harryâs morals to an extent. that being said, sirius is incredibly practical, harryâs literal life was in immediate danger and harryâs life is siriusâs priority, and as we know, when push comes to shove sirius is plenty capable of murder and wouldâve killed peter without hesitation.
anyways i love this crazy little gay morally grey family like. harry refuses to kill but he DOES try to crucio people whenever a loved one dies, and eventually succeeds in performing the cruciatus in deathly hallows. sirius seems to have pretty staunch ethics about killing suspects and death eaters but when pushed hard enough and when his loved ones are threatened, heâll absolutely murder. remus is just ready to murder anyone, anywhere, always. they are insane i love them

i can understand the use of large house for a family but what do those single rich fucks with the goddamn true mansions do with all that space exactly? like let's table all valid criticisms of the spending and constructing of them aside and just focus on what exactly you do with that space

I am in the 1% of the population with this, but I really do not enjoy summer. I love winter, like⌠if you are cold, you can put on a hoodie, you can grab a blanket and snuggleâŚ. Like⌠when youâre hot, what do you do? Rip your skin off?
