Alex was constantly thinking about the well-being of the Boiling Isles. So, at the moment, ideas involving enjoyment tended to slip through the cracks of his observation.

Hearing that the expansion was to be associated with a courtyard was a definite relief on his mind. His expression immediately softened as there wasn't anything that would immediately present for improving or maintaining the health of the citizens inside the courtyard.

Turning to look at his mom. "Do you already have an idea about the design of the courtyard?" He didn't hear if it was just going to be a single area near the hospital or if the courtyard would encompass areas along several or all sides of the building.

Alex would continue to hum lightly. He was well aware that his mom wouldn't always have time for him, but he was going to try and attack several issues at the same time. Spending time with his mom and learning how to rule.

While he did want to greet Steve, normally a matter to be brought up with his mom was important and shouldn't be diverted with casual conversations. Besides, Lilith had technically addressed him earlier.

"The hospital helps keep everyone as healthy as possible. Ensuring it isn't a risk makes sense. The expansion does make me worried. I am not sure if it's just due to how many people there are or if there is a situation that is making more people need the hospital than normal." Even with a ruler, there are some things that were uncontrollable, illness being one of them.

"An estimate for renovations is good. For the expansion, that is something that I cannot answer one way or the other. A bigger hospital would mean it can help more people, but the materials needed for it could be used better especially if a lot of it isn't being used."

He would hold her hand as he walks beside her, a mixture of relief and slight confusion at how peaceful it was compared to the Boiling Isles. Having lived through the pandemonium in the Boiling Isles, it felt weird when there wasn't some form of chaos ensuing around him.

"You can only really appreciate something when it no longer is trying to have you for a meal." Alex would lightly joke. Though, if there wasn't the usual type of danger, it made him worry about what dangers could be lurking in their place. Having Emira close by made those worries disappear as quickly as they emerged.

The gaze from some of the people did make him slightly uncomfortable, it made him worry that they were judging him. Taking a breath to steady his nerves. "The buildings here look similar to what we're used to, but it lacks some of flair of home. But these have their own type of charm."

A small smile forms on Alex’s face as he shakes his head as he walks through the portal. As tempting as it may sound to see what King may have in mind, spending time with Emira was more important especially since they couldn’t spend much time together while preparing their surprises for each other.

Upon arriving on the other side of the portal, Alex was slightly shell shocked amidst the different scenery between the two sides. The shell shocked couldn’t keep him from noticing Emira looking at him through his peripheral vision. “Yep, some things might look different when we experience them together.”

"No one can be the perfect partner. We can only try to be our best." Alex would remark figuring that it would almost seem like bragging about being engaged.

He doubted that Amity would be quick to redirect her affections. "Nothing like the stress of planning a wedding to test the love between two people." He would joke with a small laugh.

"Not looking forward to planning it honestly. Just all the moving pieces. But if I am not willing to stay by Emira's side during the bad times, I don't deserve her during the good times. Though using the time to plan the wedding as the base is asking for trouble." He would remark as he lightly places his arms across his chest.

"So what would you be planning on doing if you do get with someone you want to spend your life with if you don't want to suffer through planning the wedding?"

"That would make two of us. There are bound to be important things in life, but nothing should be above someone like Emira." He would laugh slightly and nod his head. "Sorry, didn't know how much pressure it was putting on you." Though he was engaged to Emira, he wasn't going to be discourteous to Boscha, given all they had been through.

"No plans for the wedding itself yet. We're going to spend some time together. We were keeping our surprises secret from each other, so it did make it hard to do so earlier." Alex wasn't going to put a lot of focus on his side as the wedding was a joint decision, so he wanted to make sure that there was a consensus between the two of them about it before letting anything slip.

While she was happy to make decisions that helped the infrastructural integrity, some of the finer details like the budget somewhat bored her. Lilith smiled when she saw Alex enter the room. "Well, hello there, my little prince," she greeted gently. Her smile widened as he approached and climbed into her lap. Lilith brushed her blackened fingers through his hair. "How's my darling son doing?"

Alex knew that his mom was busy at times with running the Boiling Isles, but given that he was the prince, that meant that he would eventually have to learn to do those same tasks.

Between learning how to be the successor to his mom, it would also present him with some time to spend with his mom. "Hi momma." The young man said turning his head as much as he could to look at her. Wasn't exactly easy to do since it was most comfortable sitting with his back toward.

"I am good. Wanted to spend time with you and hopefully help with your work."

“I did know Amity before you but wouldn’t say that it was that well. Closest person I could say of her friends that I know was Willow. Willow meant the best when we talked, but it ended exacerbating a fear that had been with more for several years.” He spoke referencing a fear of abandonment that was tied to his low evaluation of his self-worth that he had eventually managed to force out and tell Emira as they spoke on the trip to the Owl house.

“Hey there King.” Alex would greet. A part of him was conflicted about the matter of addressing a descendant of the Titan, but would prefer to face a lashing than possibly embarrass King by being too formal.

“Wait, didn’t think King had a list of things he wouldn’t do in the Human Realm.” The statement was a playful jab. It was a playfulness that had laid dormant and almost dead with Alex for several years and after he let go of his fear, it gradually emerged.

“Don’t worry, we will. Don’t have too much fun over here without us.”

Alex would smile and shake his head. "The important thing is that you are doing alright Alice." He would lightly nuzzle his head against her hands as he ruffles his hair.

"You never know how useful they are unless you test them. Now, are you going to come down or do I have to go up there?" A playful smile on his face as he wouldn't mind trying to chase after her in the tree if she decides on the later.

Alice smiled, feeling rather proud of herself. Her tail actually had a pretty strong grip which was surprising. She hadn't expected this actually to work so well. Hands moved to his hair, gently ruffling it as best as she could while hanging upside down.

" Sorry I didn't mean to worry you. I actually practiced this! I'm still surprised how strong my tail actually is...it seems my dragonic traits are more useful than I thought. "

Sorry about the unexpected hiatus. Explanation will be below the cut.

(This was my last semester of college. With my major being in business, included was a senior experience project involving assisting a company with a business problem. As the semester drew to a close, there was a push to finalize all of the items for the project as well as preparation for a tradeshow and presentation.

Finished all that then wanted to get through FFXVI:EotF without being exposed to spoilers. Just finished that yesterday. Now that that's all finished, I will be returning. Will still be working.)

Alex would smile and laugh slightly. "She said she wanted me to marry her. In response, I proposed to her with my own ring."

"Been killing me keeping the ring a secret as well. Let me know if you need some help when you are ready to propose Boscha, I'll be there to help you."

Alex couldn't see the look on Lucile's face, but the tone of her voice made it clear that she was unsettled. He didn't think that she was someone that could lie in her state, so there wasn't any point dragging on the conversation, especially given that she was probably going to break down more if it went on longer.

"Wanted to make sure you weren't possibly looking for something you dropped down there." He wasn't going to keep her longer than possible, so he began making a second magic circle with his left hand. Though not as fluid as the one made with his right hand, it was enough to get the effect he wanted.

A large hand of earth would emerge under Lucile and lift her up out of the pit she was in.

As the fingers of the hand emerged into his sight, Alex would make that he was in a good so she could see him. It would also give him time to seal off the pit once she was free of it and use the base of the seal to create some stairs so he could walk up to her and help her.

“ Hey, do you need some help? ” (Lucile)

Lucile was kind of stuck there. Trapped in a small pit, surrounded by some odd looking spiders.

"...A little..maybe? They're huge..."

"Okay, just one last question. Are you aiming to get something down there or are you aiming to get out?" He wanted to make sure how to address her situation. He could help by raising her out of pit if she wanted out or could get rid of the spiders rather quickly, given that the pit is surrounded by earth and his ability with earth magic.

While waiting for her answer, he wasn't going to leave her there on her own. Creating a magic circle with his right hand, he would have the earth between Lucille and the spiders so they couldn't get to her easily.

A sweet, bashful, and happy smile on his face as he nods his head.

"A lot better Alice. Just because we're engaged, I still enjoy kissing you." He answers before giving her a quick kiss.

"Well, yes and no." A playful grin on his face. "She didn't ask directly, given that I directly asked her." He retorted calmly yet sweetly.

"I was actually working on a ring for Emira when she was working on one for me. We actually ended up wanting to propose to each other at the same time." He added on with a small laugh.

"Don't sweat it Boscha. I could tell from how it looks and the gesture was reciprocated in kind."
