Charles Windsor gathered in a park princes & ministers of many nations together with their wives, and there he preached to them, with decreasing confidence, of his wish that, to raise the birth rate, they all breed there. things i know abt andorra:

that the singular interruption of the above described system was an attempted coup by the belarussian white émigré and royal pretender boris skossyreff, who attempted to get himself crowned 'king boris i of andorra' in july 1934 w the backing of his partner, the american millionnaire florence marmon (ex-wife of howard marmon, apparently a big deal in the early 20th cent american car industry). he proposed what i think was the country's first modern constitution, through which skossyreff (apparently) sought to modernise the nation—and, importantly, turn it into a secure tax heaven. he declared war on the bishop of urgell for refusing to accept his constitution proposal, and was removed from the throne of andorra by the spanish civil guard after only thirteen days of rule. he'd later go on to collaborate w the nazis, and had the distinguished luck of seeking asylum in one of the few soviet-administered regions of west germany after the war, where he was tried for collaboration and sent to a labour camp in siberia

A fun fact about andorra is that the 1278 charter that forms the basis of its modern constitution stipulated it was to be under the dominion of two co-princes: the bishop of urgell (a catalonian roman catholic diocese) and the count of foix. The latter title was eventually absorbed into the french crown upon the ascension of henry iv (then count of foix) to the french throne, meaning that the 1278 charter now effectively gave andorra over to the joint leadership of the urgell bishop and the french king. This title ofc eventually became an awkward question once several revolutions rendered the title of the king of france basically politically obsolete, leaving us with the current state of the andorran constitution under which Emmanuel macron is a co-monarch democratically elected by the citizens of a foreign country
